So when was the last time you had REAL ice cream?? Like full of good flavorful ingredients. I had the triple... With chocolate marshmallow, lemon blueberry, and blueberry pie. My daughter had vanilla, birthday, and cookie dough. I had mine in a waffle bowl. This location is clean and sharp. It includes their pizza franchise and burger joint. We just did the ice cream. That's the most ice cream I've had in like forever. The flavors are so intense. Dare I say almost too good?? I tasted the vanilla base...yum. They also have a dairy store, and if I lived here...I might just get their milk delivered. Great modern take on the ice cream stores I remember growing up with. Let's face it. There aren't that many places left to go and get what I would consider a regular, hand scooped ice cream cone. This Oberweis is fairly new and attached to a Hamburger and Pizza restaurant. I got a scoop of Coconut Chocolate Almond on a sugar cone. Their ice cream is rich, creamy, and delicious. It is always served at the proper temperature where it's just soft enough to get the intended flavor. This particular flavor tastes like an Almond Joy in ice cream form. What could be bad about that? Oberweis built their brand and reputation on quality milk since 1927, and here they dip ice cream and under the same roof offer their two restaurant concepts, That Burger Joint and Woodgrain Pizzeria, in a convenient and comfortable format for the whole family. Tonight I enjoyed the steakburger (with blue cheese & mushrooms) & fries; the single looked smaller than expected and so I'll perhaps order the double next time - the flavor was delicious. Fries were skinny and great. I was pleasantly surprised to learn they offer about 5-6 beers and a couple wines, so I enjoyed one! I had room for a single scoop of ice cream in a waffle cone. In the past when visiting Chicagoland, I've enjoyed the double cheeseburger and their pizza on different visits. The milk is available in a traditional stainless steel milk dispenser, which is fun. (Unlimited chocolate milk!). Don't forget to take home a glass jar ($2 bottle deposit....so you hurry back!) of each chocolate and white milk....& some butter and half & half for your coffee...& maybe a quart of specialty ice cream. Disappointed and frustrated are the only words coming to mind right now after 30 MINUTES in the Drive-Thru to get ice cream. We were behind 1 car, who finally, after 25 minutes, was given a number and told to pull around. Instead of having them pull around to the side sooner and letting everyone else get through, we were all "stuck." (There's no way to exit their drive-thru. When we asked what the problem was, the team leader (not the manager like we'd asked for) gave us some apology about burgers having to be cooked. 1) we don't care, we ordered ice cream. 2) if you know it'll take a while, have that car pull up right away to allow for the flow of cars in the drive-thru. To top it off, our ice cream was pathetically melted. For the cost of it, it shouldn't be a melted mess by the time we get it. We've been here a few times, but this is the last. Not worth the wait. Severely disappointed in this place. Maybe trying to do pizza, burgers, and ice cream is little more than you can handle. UPDATE-- 45 minutes after getting my ice cream and putting it in the freezer, it's STILL mush (think soft-serve) if that gives any clue as to how melted it was. read more

So yummy! My mom and I went to get ice cream after being on a diet (her for five months and me for three months). Oberweis made it so worth the cheat. The waffle cones were wonderful and ice cream was creamy. We even went back the next day for seconds! I absolutely loved the pistachio, cake batter, black cherry, and chocolate coconut almond. The sharks and mermaids was good, but not a favorite. Sadly, the sweet lemon blackberry was sickeningly sweet. There are so many flavors to choose from--I wish I could have tried them all! The employees were respectful and patient. Both times it was fairly busy so be ready to wait in line. Trust me though, it's worth it! read more

This place is always packed when we drive by so we decided to check it out. Maybe our expectations were too high, but the ice cream is SO average that it makes it above average in being average. A $2 gallon of great value ice cream would've tasted exactly the same as theirs. I got the dulce de leche in a waffle cone (also very average) and my husband got a heath frostbite which tasted like they blended up ice in in it which diluted any source of flavor. I didn't like my ice cream, but after trying his, mine seemed pretty good. But only by being compared to his nasty shake thing. And it was like, pretty expensive for nothing even that yummy. The 2 stars are for the speaker quality in the drive thru being really clear and the workers were quick and not like, rude like a lot of drive thru workers tend to be. read more

Online order process is a joke because flavors are offered that aren't even available. Curbside service is useless because the number on the sign isn't answered and a worker said we should have just called the store directly (I guess we were supposed to know that). Worker ignored me and she was just lazy in general. She gave us the wrong replacement product to fulfill the order. This type of service isn't worth going back again because we paid for product we didn't want. read more

Horrible service. We came in at 10:47 pm. And the girls working we rude to us and telling us to leave. I feel bad for coming in while they were getting ready to close but at the same time it is the employees duty to be respectful to there customers. This place is entirely too slow. We waited in a drive-through for 30 minutes only to see the person in front of us they handed a number to pull ahead. Once you're in the drive-in there's no way out so you are stuck. Be prepared to wait a long time. read more

Best icecream ever. They put extra cherrys in it. They said there was 2 In it on the menu. And gave me 5 in my ice-cream. I loved it. They have the best customer Service with the extra cherrys it was amazing. The outside part of it was awesome also. the outside was not very hot because of the umbrella thing on top. I have always loved coming to this store (since I was a kid) but my last visit here was a horrible experience. I brought along my two daughters to enjoy some burgers and some ice cream. Towards the end of our visit, my two daughters had to listen to a few of the workers talk about their days as they were obnoxiously screaming to each other. All the customers had to hear them!!!! But to my disappointment, my daughters and I had to hear one of the workers yelling the f word across the store. It was a horrible experience especially since I have always enjoyed my time here. Something must be done management wise to address this issue... AND QUICKLY!!!! read more
