    The Lunch Menu
    Tim N.

5 stars for the lunch experience! Friday at lunch hour, hit the door at 12:09. Pretty open seating, but those 11 big, comfortable bar seats were inviting, with only one other occupied. Since the bartender was active in serving tables along with the host, the bar seemed like a great choice for my part of just me. I was immediately provided a menu and drink and by 12:11 my order of a six inch two topping pizza with side salad was in the system. And it's a good deal for $14.50 (no drink included). By 12:14 my salad arrives and it is a nice mix of arugula, spinach, radicchio with sliced cherry tomatoes and a half hard boiled egg cut into thirds, side dressing or ranch. This is a healthy portion for a side salad. 12:24 salad finished, plate cleared and 12:28 my pizza clears the oven and is on the pass window. By 12:30 it's in front of me with shakers of grated Parmesan and red chili pepper accompanying. They self-describe their pizza style as "Ohio style." Which means, thicker vs thinner, crispy bottom, slightly chewy/doughier center or middle, sauce (in this order), fresh toppings, cheese on top. Their sauce is made in house with their own "secret" recipe and it is aged for the week - meaning made in a large batch the end of the week before so the flavors can get well acquainted and improve with a couple of days to mellow through. Their sauce cheese is a cheese blend, also made in house. Their sauce sauce is slightly sweet, very slightly spicy in a tangy way and generously applied. It is also molten hot out of the oven. The cheese is bubbly and getting good color in the oven and a significant distinction is that it is cheesed edge to edge. There is no significant pizza edge here, which I credit as a good thing, it is a full pizza. The actual edge does have an extra crunch to it, but it is much more of a part of the pizza than those "pizza bones" edges you see elsewhere that only half of the folks eat. Although there was one girl I knew 35 years ago in college who exclusively liked the crust remains. She probably wouldn't appreciate the thoroughness of these pizza proportions. I did get a mid-meal check in, "everything good" from the bartender and an "all done" at the end, which is just enough attention, after all, I came here to have a hot, good, quick meal and get some alone time before going back to the office. Perfect. By 12:51 I'm on my way. The portion is very good, almost thought to get a box to go for that last slice, but soldiered through it to enjoy this Ohio style pizza. This is a good lunch value, feels healthier with the salad, hits the timing just right and has the value and quality marks too.

So the man behind the scene has been doing this for over 40 years. He makes everything by hand. Sauce, sausage, dough etc. I think he knows what he's doing. Anyway, from the moment you come in, the staff gives you a warm welcome. There are a few things on the menu. I ordered the 6 inch pizza with 2 topping. It was piled high with cheese and sauce. The sauce had a little twang, which was nice. I sat at the bar where they have a big selection of TV shows on. The music, on this day, was some really good rock oldies. The service was excellent. The outside was a little bit hard to identify as Kyle's. At least I didn't see a sign while driving by. But quite obvious it was the right place. The food was good. I would go back the next time I'm in town. Price was good for a lunch special. Totally a family owned restaurant and family friendly.

Good Ohio style pizza. Nice environment and friendly staff. I'd go again if I was in the area. It's just not worth another long haul specifically to try a pizza place I haven't been to before.

The garlic bread?! AMAZING. Pizza? Delishhhh Went on a Saturday night before the dinner rush and were seated immediately. Service was attentive. First timers and honestly assumed a "hole in the wall" establishment but it is a stand alone building with lots of seating available. Heaters in the patio too but it was closed off anyways. They even have frozen pies and garlic bread to take home. We definitely took home a garlic bread on the way out lol

Good spot for unique style of pizza! We typically call ahead and order it to-go. They have great garlic bread & the marinara sauce they use is great, has lots of flavor. I think that base is also what sets the pizza apart. Lots of cheese and big, generous size - very filling after a couple slices!!! This time we tried the tikki masala pizza with chicken as it is apparently a best seller. It was good if you like Indian curry flavors! I'm more traditional with pizza so I prefer supreme but we enjoyed both!

I've heard a lot of people talking about this place so I thought I'd give it a try! I sat at the bar and had a lovely conversation with the bartender. The pizza was good! A little pricey but you definitely get your $$ worth. The ambiance was a bit noisy but it's also dinner time for families, on the weekend, so to be expected.

Our first time dining at Myles and will not be our last. Best pizza in town! Service was excellent!!!

I love that the owner still not just walks around but actually works. Probably the most busy person in the shop. Never idle. Always working. Great pizza. Would go back.

    Meat lovers pizza

The cheese pull is good but there's not much flavor me me and I couldn't get over the "doneness". $20 for a 9 in burnt pizza is a lot for me. I knew was something was up when I smelled smoke. Lol. Probably would given 3.5 stars if that option was given.

Pizza, obviously. Meat Lovers, to be specific

Hubs had the meatballs (which the server said they only had two left...a friend nabbed the others) and other friends had the moules (mussels) frites and the braised short rib IIRC. The *.frites were the biggest hits. My filet was perfect, Sharon was raving about her mussels being the best she's had in ages. I had a bite of the meatballs, they were ok but people agreed there are better things on their menu. I love that the frites come with a choice of 3 out of about 10 different custom mayos (aiolis for the fancy-schmancy). I tried the curry, sriracha, and a fruity one I can't remember exactly what it was. I liked the fruity one the best and to my surprise, the curry the least (I usually love curry, but the balance was off). The sriracha mayo was too subtle for me, I slather sriracha mayo on my burgers regularly. I have no class. The frites were fresh cut and I enjoyed them but there were far more than I could eat on my plate, and sadly frites don't keep. They have my favorite super sweet Lindemann's framboise lambic on tap; I've only ever had it in bottles before, so that was a treat. My husband thinks I'm crazy to drink it because it is SO SWEET but I love it. So does Sharon, and clearly we're not alone or they wouldn't waste a tap on it :). It's beer for people who hate beer. (I resemble that remark. Maybe hate is a strong word. But in my 30s I realized I'd rather drink a soda than a beer, except for this one.) Desserts sounded good but we were too stuffed to order any. Next time I come, I may try the mussels, or I might just order that steak again.

It's in a basement that feels like a pleasant dungeon or a 1500's rogue tavern, you know, the kind in the movies where plots to overturn evil rulers are hatched. It is a unique vibe and after your meal, when emerging back onto the brightly lit street, it's akin to stepping out of a secret place and back into the light of day. The beer selection is impressive. This food is Belgian inspired. Hence the name being derived from a mix of Trappist Monks, trap doors, and a hidden underground enclave. Many of the beers have higher alcohol content, listed on the menu, be advised. The specialty is Moules Frites, mussels prepared in various broths and fries double fried in duck fat served with a flight of your choice of flavored mayonnaise such as wasabi, curry, truffle, sriracha, etc. Very good. Reservations are highly recommended. It was a busy Thursday at 6:30pm and the place was literally packed, even the bar. The two of us were seated in a large, dark, alcove booth fitting for six or perhaps even eight. We had a reservation, so the hostess said, "we may as well fill it" since it was that crowded. Being such, it was five minutes before we were noticed and placed our drink orders, another five before our water arrived and we ordered and about 30 minutes later to get our food. In between we were left to ourselves. The service was not negligent, but it was minimal and not really friendly either. It was a busy night, so we will have grace. But the mussels were delicious. We both had the Provincale, a rich, savory, Mediterranean sauce of tomatoes, garlic and white wine. Bourdain says "never order the mussels", in his Kitchen Confidential book, but here you are safe because they are very popular and the main feature. I've probably said this before and it is worth repeating, they need to up their crusty bread game. The broth is so good and the accompanying bread just doesn't lend itself to bringing the dish to another level, but it could were it better bread. This is a solid and must do restaurant experience when visiting Greenville. It arguably should be the "one" restaurant you must visit in town because of its unique ambiance and unique food & beverage.

The nautical theme and decor throughout the space was a great touch--anchors, ropes, and deep-sea tones gave it a quirky, seafaring charm that made the experience feel more curated and intentional. There were a few groups hanging out when we arrived, and while it wasn't packed, there was only one bartender working, so we waited about five minutes to be helped--not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of. We each ordered a flight, and here's what I tried: Sic'em Sour - sour ale with peach and cherry Italian ice Sour Blueberry Lime - sour ale with blueberry and lime Chonk: Banana Split - sour ale with banana, strawberry, chocolate, and lactose Strawberry Shortshake - milkshake IPA with strawberry and vanilla And then, on a whim, I also grabbed a pour of: Maple Banger - imperial stout infused with maple syrup and toasted maple wood I finished them all, but a few truly left an impression. The Chonk was indulgent and playful--like drinking dessert--with that banana split profile hitting every note just right. The Sic'em Sour was a fruity explosion, sharp and refreshing, like someone blended summer and poured it in a glass. And just when I thought I was done, the Maple Banger hit me like a warm hug from a Canadian lumberjack. Rich, velvety, and layered with real maple goodness--I could've had endless glasses of that one. Hands down a personal favorite. Two flights and a couple of cans came to around $30, which felt totally fair for the experience and the quality. Overall, The Whale is a fun, flavorful stop for beer lovers, especially if you enjoy exploring different styles. Not every brew was a hit, but the vibe was awesome, the décor was unique, and a few of those beers? Truly memorable. I'd definitely stop by again next time I'm in Greenville.
