I absolutely adore this store!!! We found all kinds of toys for the kids and they're not marked up by huge percentages like some of the other local stores. They are reasonably priced. The people that work there are super friendly. The kids can play with some of their display toys. The place is clean and well organized. Lots of gadgets from the past and trendy toys too. Also next door, which is part of the same store, there's a really cool adult-friendly store that has a lot of Texas crafts and art and home goods. It just feels good to come to this store and support local. They make it easy with their good prices, well made products, and welcoming and friendly attitudes. Highly recommend this place! If I were a kid, this would be the place I would want to visit every single day of the year. (Note to self: When I have children, I won't take them here until they're 12. Or 20. I just can't let them know it exists.Their gifts will come from the "mommies-only" store on Knox.) I went in looking for rubber duckies (don't judge) and walked out with a handful of cool stuff. The employees were super duper helpful in finding exactly what I needed - they even called their sister store to check on what they had. Froggie's looks like Toy Story's Buzz Lightyear threw up all over the place. There is stuff EVERYWHERE. Top to bottom. Corner to corner. Stuffed in every cubby space imaginable. If they don't have it, you don't need it. I was literally amazed by how the employees knew exactly where everything was. And it's not expensive, either...prices were average, but I could definitely see how a grandmother could empty her entire bank account on gifts for the grandkids here. Froggies is a really great toy store for all ages. They have a really wide selection that covers all age groups. For adults, they have lots of silly things like stick on mustaches, denture shaped ice cube trays, PEZ, and board games. For kids, they have books, stuffed animals, lunch boxes, knit hats shaped like their favorite animals or animated characters, puzzles, puppets, building blocks, tea sets and activity books. During my latest visit, I bought a "Paddington Bear" book, for my niece. I love that they carry classic children's books like "Curious George", "Dr. Seuss," and "Paddington Bear" as well as new favorites like "When You Give a Mouse a Cookie." It's not a huge store but you can really lose track of time playing with all the toys, reading books and just browsing all the fun things they have on the shelves. Took my son here the other day and even though it's moved into a smaller place the owner still has a ton of inventory so if it's not on the shelf just ask he's probably got it . I sometimes forget that Froggie's is a toy store. That is because as a grown-ass woman I go in here and completely forget myself, and my age, and wind up walking out two hours later. Sometimes empty-handed, but always will a full soul. It's not so much as toy store as it is a time warp to Happiness. There are "smart" toys for the brainiac kids, and plastic dinosaurs for third graders (and me), and obscure PEZ dispensers. I am especially fond of the "tubes": Tube o' Pirates, Tube of Frogs, Tube of Jamestown Settlers, etc. I've scattered the contents of tubes across tables for decorations/party favors at birthday parties, and my adult friends love them. Often times these little figures end up on their work computers. Whenever I am in need of something "out of the box", Froggie's delivers. They've got cap guns, Cat Butt Air Fresheners, and metal lunch boxes. Items in this store are expensive, so bring your wallet. If you don't have a wallet, Froggie's has some great ones you can purchase. If they get a cat butt wallet in stock, y'all need to let me know. read more

So I was drunk...wait, I'm seeing a trend here again. Maybe not entirely drunk. Either way, I can't shoot pool sober. Me shooting pool after a couple of beers is just sad. I'm losing. And in a typical fit of frustration I look at my adversary and yell, "YEAH, WELL I'D KICK YOUR ASS AT HOPSCOTCH! TOO BAD THERE'S NO WAY TO PROVE IT." To which adversary retorted, "We can go to Froggies right now and get a hopscotch set so I can school you at...." You get the idea. And since deep inside I'm really about 8 years old, the next day I went immediately to Froggies and found said hopscotch set, boxing nuns, Buddha sticky notes, every toy you can imagine that you can't find in the toy section at Wal Mart--don't even get me started on that. Wal-Mart equals much gnashing of teeth. If you've ever been to Toy Joy in Austin, it's the same idea, little cleaner and smaller. Still best toy shop I've found in Dallas proper. This little store is so much fun! They have fun little toys and things for kids and adults alike! I went in looking for a cute gift for a friend and found a few things I wanted myself... including 2 or 3 which could be new additions to my awesome robot collection! It reminds me of a shop in Orlando (that has since closed) called Red Marq... Funny cards, neat little toys, totally random things (like a kit of various mustaches - which I LOVE), wind up toys, some collectables (Hello Kitty stuff, Simpsons action figures, Star Wars stuff), gag toys (whoopi cushions, etc.)... just lots of fun! A great place to find a fun, inexpensive birthday present for someone who is a bit wacky! Or a totally unique gift for your favorite 9 yr old! This little toy store is truly a gem in the rough. Almost toy stores are focused on with the newest and latest commercialized cartoon characters, Froggy's 5&10 focuses on what truly is classic American pop-culture and has unique and interesting toys for kids of all ages. I really like their variety of puppets and marionettes as well as small magic trick type of gifts, as well as PVC/plastic figurines of modern and pop-culture characters. One thing they do have which many stores do not, are complete dollhouse sets that you can purchase and build with your own family. Most of the times I have been in here the staff seems to be somewhat short tempered and doesn't want to put up with people's crap however there is a very interesting young gentleman who works there who really enjoys his work and translates that into a very positive experience. Big thumbs up to this guy for enjoying his work and letting it show. One tip, if you were taking your kids in here for the first time, expect the unexpected. Froggies is the kind of place that takes you back to a warm and fuzzy memory from your childhood. They have so many games, toys and gadgets from so many different eras. I love that I can go here and be personally entertained while I look for gifts for friends and family. I've purchased several items for my niece (3yrs) and nephew (5 yrs) that they both love (while being mentally stimulated-shhhh). This place has a nice collection of Peanuts (Charlie Brown, Snoopy and company) as well as Hello Kitty, so yeah, I'm sold. There is a guy there who's name I should know. He's young, maybe Latin or Italian, long dark hair and always wearing a smile. Anytime I've been in he's been on hand to help locate items or just give really good suggestions. He's a super nice guy so pick his brain. And on that note, everyone that I've encountered there has been really nice and helpful. This is the kind of place where they encourage play. Try it on, see how it works and take a picture. No one's going to run you out for having fun. I turn into a total child in this place. Maybe because I felt that a 5 star rating on yelp meant that this would be a wonderous place filled to the brim with funny finds, interesting toys that are rare everywhere else, and endless amusement, after spending about 5 minutes in there I felt a little duped. And disappointed. You walk in and there are funny calenders and a little section for those novelty items with retro pictures of happy looking ladies with smarmy messages next to them, like, "She thought of him fondly as Plan B," or "Instead of cleaning the house, I just turn off the lights!" Which is good for a chuckle, but then you get bored and wander away to a section of more calenders, this time of superheroes. A small rack of pranks and joke items is amusing also for a few minutes. Then there's the wall in the back that is of board games, which is pretty cool since a lot of them I've never even heard of before, and then next to that is the corner of dinosaurs. Dinosaur figures, dinosaur stickers, dinosaur stuffed animals, etc. There's a small section of candy, too. Like pez, and novelty tins of mints, and other assorted stuff that usually isn't very good. All in all, it'd be a fun place to accidentally walk into, but as for being a must-stop shop...I'm gonna have to go with, eh. read more

I have been shopping at Froggies since I moved here in 1986. At first it was for toys for my three year old, then stocking stuffers. Now I do an Advent calendar for her (she's 33) and her fiancee and I take one of the little drawers with me from the calendar and select tiny gifts for each day of Advent. I am especially fond of the historic Pez dispenser section and the old time candy section. I love this place. I loooove this store. Anytime I have friends visit we always find ourselves on the street this store sits on. And some how always end up walking in. It is filled with anything and everything you can think of from your childhood. From the old Pez dispensers to the Dr. Seuss books. I come here around Christmas for stocking stuffers. They have toys as small as whistles and toys as large as a Smart Car. My last purchase was a book entitled "Go-Dog-Go". It reminded me of my childhood. They also have The Little Golden Books and it looks like they carry just about the whole series. That is really cool. I gave one less star because of the pricing. I feel it is super expensive. I don't know of anywhere else like this in Dallas. Went in for the first time just to browse and was in heaven. The second time I went I actually had a purpose: white elephant gifts. Unfortunately, with a $10 limit I had a hard time finding either 1 standalone gift or 2 smaller gifts within that price point, which was kind of disappointing. Of course, these also had to be work appropriate gifts so I was somewhat limited. There are definitely a lot of things here I would enjoy getting though!! Lots of Elvis things, old timey candy, games, magic tricks, retro toys, etc etc etc. The people who work there are really nice, and the store cats are awesome, as far as cats go :) read more

Yes.... It is expensive, but I much rather take my baby here than toys-r-us. They have a wonderful book selection and toys for all ages- including gag gifts for teens/adults. If you're in the area, it's worth stopping in. It's also a good place to take your kids on a rainy day or as a special treat. I just wouldn't recommend it if you're rushing to get a gift ten minutes before a party..... It's also too expensive to be buying birthday gifts for kids you're not related to. If you're walking with a stroller, leave it outside or in the car. The store is too small to navigate with a stroller. read more
