Unfortunately the contractor decided to place the gas line and valve to the pit within the masonry work, leaving no way to access the line should the need arise. Flash forward to about a week and a half ago, and the valve in my backyard fire pit became stripped and was no longer opening or closing with they key. I am a DIY guy 95% of the time, but I am not about to go messing around with a gas line, so I called a local fire place shop to ask about repairs. They told me the job required a plumber and recommended Lloyd's Plumbing service. I called Lloyd's, left a message and... never heard back. After a couple days I searched on my own and found Gallegos Plumbing. I called them and asked about an estimate. The gentleman told me there was no charge to have someone come out I had an appointment scheduled for the next day. The communication throughout the entire process was spectacular. Within a couple minutes of hanging up the phone, I had already received an email and text confirming my pending appointment, and even had a reminder email and text the next day. Bill Jeffries was the gentleman who came to my house. He called me to let me know he was on his way and also asked me about the issue I was having with my fire pit so he could be as prepared as possible. He showed up on time and was very friendly. He took a look at my fire pit, spent time answering my questions, and walked me through three different solutions that could work. He was honest and transparent about the estimated costs for each potential solution, which I appreciated. But seeing the concerned look on my face, knowing that I was looking at a higher cost than expected due to how my fire pit was built, Bill offered a fourth solution that I could try myself, and walked me through how he would do it. In my experience, this just doesn't happen these days. Bill was genuinely interested in helping me figure out my problem and not just looking to make some money. After 30 minutes of his time, he gave me his card, shook my hand, told me to call if I needed anything, and bid me a good afternoon. I was left with no charge for the time or the visit, and a potential solution to my problem that I can try myself for the cost of a few tools and an afternoon. Gallegos Plumbing came through huge, and I feel that their service and expertise is second to none. Bill was extremely professional, friendly, and listened to me. I will most certainly be calling Gallegos Plumbing in the future for all my my plumbing needs, as mine was a great first experience. I am glad I found them, and I would recommend them to anyone needing plumbing service in their home. It's hard to find good, honest, hard-working businesses these days who put their customers first, but Gallegos Plumbing is one of those few. Highly recommended, and I can't say thank you enough.

A few years ago I used Pro Solutions and Jerry came out for a water pressure issue that impacted our sinks and shower. Jerry was thoughtful and a good communicator on the issue. He fixed the issue immediately and that experience stuck with us. Fast forward to this week, we used them again. Thankfully, no emergencies but I had one toilet needing a tweak and needed hardware changed in one of my bathrooms for the shower and sink that was long overdue. Even though my request wasn't an emergency, Jerry offered to come out within hours of my request to fix everything and was communicative even late into the night (when my toilet started acting up so I frantically messaged them) talk about stellar availability and service. Next day I had Jerry at my door, he was punctual, professional and did a great job of explaining everything so that I could understand what needed to be done, the pricing, and options for the replacement pieces. It was all a seamless and easy process. Jerry was also quick and efficient which was another bonus. What gives this company extra brownie points in my books though is their honesty...To elaborate, I had partially fixed the issue with my toilet before Jerry came but there was still something slightly off about the water levels... after telling Jerry he was able to tweak the part that I didn't know how to fix and literally in seconds, he had the issue resolved. Given what a quick fix it was and that he was already out to help with other plumbing issues, he didn't charge me for the toilet fix. Little things like that go a long way because any other plumber would've likely charged me just for even touching it/assessing it. That shows me that they care about their long-term business and customers, so they aren't out to make a quick buck. Honest, hardworking people are the kind of businesses I'll always go back to for repairs and projects. Two separate experiences and I was a happy customer both times. But when we needed to change out an old bathroom vanity for a new one, we knew we had to get serious about it. And if you hire a plumber to do the work, which DOES involve some plumbing, then it costs way more. I resigned myself to the search and literally just contacted the most popular handyman service in my town based on Yelp reviews. Guess what? thank goodness I did! 805's Handyman (NOT to be confused with "805 Handyman") responded right away--even though it was a Sunday and the World Cup games were on. I uploaded pics, sent in the details, got an estimate, and made an appointment. On the day of, a nice truck drove up with the logo painted proudly on the side (not a guy in a fancy sports car, like handyman #9). Two sturdy guys came in and got down to business right away--no fuss, all smiles, and dare I say it? Like they loved what they do. (Unlike handyman #7 who was a former engineer and complained the whole time, even refusing to do some tasks!) Long story shorter, the bathroom vanity switcheroo turned out to be bigger and messier project than expected. It ended up involving some retiling, grouting, electrical adjustments, alterations to trim, painting--and the plumbing bits and installation and removal. The workers were quiet, helpful, communicated the whole time and were just generally old-school excellent (unlike handyman #4, who was nice, but got everything crooked and a bit wonky, bless his heart). The 805's Handyman workers did ALL the plumbing/installing/electrical/tile work/painting--the whole shebang. And the end result is a sweet transformation for our upstairs bath (I also asked them to take care of a few more items on my to-do list, which they did quickly and again, with smiles). The whole thing was very gratifying. So much so, that the next time something in our house needs fixing, I will actually look forward to hiring 805's Handyman again. We're lucky to have them in the Ventura area and they are popular on Yelp for very good reasons.

I swear Dean is the most patient (no pressure) sales guy I've ever met. Yo say he is thorough is an understatement. He carefully looks at all information available from the types of systems to the pros and cons of each and tailors them to the individual's requirements. The best part is he doesn't oversell you on things you don't need. In my case I wanted a system to eventually be ready for an electric car. Dean wisely advised not to buy the extra pieces now when they would be of no value to me, but ensured my system would be ready for upgrades when I was ready. Since our initial install we have upgraded our system on 3 occasions, each time carefully planned out to maximize the value of the equipment and to get the best bang for the buck. In short if I could give 10 stars I would. If you are interested in learning about solar give them a call. You won't be sorry.

I'd like to give a shout out to Ben Kohn at "From Sinks to Sewers." We had an issue with our master bathroom toilet that went on for about two years: After flushing, it would make gurgling sounds from other sources in the master bathroom, namely the bathtub, bidet, and once in a while - the sinks. We had two plumbers come out to inspect the problem. The first plumber explained that the piping was inferior and that we'd have to rip out all the pipes in the walls and re-plumb the system. I didn't buy that, as the "inferior" piping seemed to work just fine through the first 28 years of the house's existence. The second plumber earnestly snaked the toilet and bidet; while that seemed to work initially - the fix only lasted about a month. Then we had a handyman climb on our roof (a difficult task considering the height and pitch of the roof) and proceed to clear out the vent pipe. Again, this worked for about a month, then the gurgling started once again. I met Ben while he was performing a sewer lateral line inspection at one of our real estate listings. I was impressed with how thorough and honest he was and asked if he might be willing to take a look at our issue. Ben arrived at our house and spent seven hours diagnosing and running a camera through the pipes - until, voila, he found the issue! Roots had penetrated the area where the cleanout valve pipe had cracked, right near the outside of our house (which was only about 20 feet of piping from the troublesome toilet). Enough time has passed and no further gurgling has occurred to where I believe the issue has finally been resolved. Ben was the only plumber who took the time to properly diagnose the issue, and considering the time he spent at our house, his bill for services was totally reasonable. I had moved to Oxnard in the summer of 2012. Shortly after moving into our house, I began to experience clogged drains in the bathrooms and kitchen. Without going into all of the details, I had very bad experiences with the "family plumber" who never did get the jobs done right. After several visits and paying each time he came out I was still left with these plumbing issues. This plumber was aware that the issues were not resolved and said he would get back to me asap. I never heard back from him! So, I decided to "yelp" plumbers in the area. That is when I came across Ben - "From Sinks To Sewers". Having read several 5 star reviews, I decided to give Ben a call and explain my situation. We then scheduled an appointment for this past Saturday and Ben was right on time and the rest is history. Ben is right on target! He tells it like it is, straight and simple. Purchasing a home and moving is stressful. In our case, we were at the "What next?" phase of considering a number of homes and encountering complications. There is no way out of that. The more we know the better. The last thing we wanted, in the home we chose, was for the sewer drain to be flawed, a 50-year-old home with a cast iron drain designed to last 50 years. There were helpful people who advised us to have the drain visually inspected. Ben has the equipment and provides a video of the inspection, along with a description of what is found. The drain was functional, but badly corroded so as to be unreliable. It would be only a matter of time before it collapsed and everything would be backing up our drain lines. It had already happened to several similar homes in the tract. It's possible that we may be able to work with the seller to replace the drain pipes and save the deal. Without Ben's inspection we would have moved in and then faced a very unhappy surprise a few days, weeks, or months down the road. Thanks, Ben, for all you do. read more

Over the top excellent. Obviously, Ben is an excellent technician, has a lot of integrity, and does exactly what he says he will do and does it well. But he goes beyond that. Trying to buy the house I am currently occupying as a tenant, the underwriter last minute decided that if my sewer lateral was not repaired immediately, the lender would kill the loan. The homeowner, who had been incredibly patient during my loan process, threatened to call it off. I contacted Ben in the evening the morning before he fixed the lower sewer lateral. He took a big risk for me by postponing a non-emergency job he had that day in order to attend to mine (and my gratitude goes out to that homeowner whose time slot I received). Because of Ben I am a homeowner this week, and the job he did is first rate. Ben will be my first call for plumbing issues, but man, I tell you, I will be hard pressed to find anyone more committed and true in any profession. read more

Story about Ben. He takes his dog to the same Neighborhood dog park as me and my wife. He had cleared out our serially issues ridden main line 1 year,11 months before and given us a two year warranty. The line starts giving us issues again after being trouble free for the longest since we've owned our house. Ben hears I had asked if he was around from another dog owner at the park. This is a Saturday. He calls me and informs me that the work is under warranty and he'll take care of it. Thanks, I say, but my wife and I are at the car dealership about to sign papers. So he comes down to the car dealership, gets our keys, and clears out the line while we sign papers. All this for no charge, on a Saturday. Fixed our leaky faucet outside too. Call Ben first! I did, and the experience was perfect. Great customer service, timely, polite, friendly. Arrived exactly when he said he would. My plumbing issue was complicated...he was working in a tight space and with typical outdated beach shack plumbing. He knows the area and let me know what to expect every step of the way. Most interesting was that he is very careful, and looked at the problem from many angles. He took me through the plus/minus of each and let me be a part of the solution. We noticed the floor in our entry way was warped (wood flooring), and when we stepped on it, there was water underneath the flooring. We immediately went outside and shut off the main water valve. We could see water all around the outside of our house - the pipe inside the wall had busted and was leaking. We called Ben - at 8:00 on a Friday night. He was at our house within 20 minutes! He was very professional and courteous. Ben determined the cause of the issue, cut into the wall, and fixed the broken pipe. His price was fair considering what time of night it was. Ben is perhaps the most knowledgeable,hard working and attentive plumber that i have ever come across.He has the background and knows where to go to find what the obstacle is and to solve the problem at a very reasonable price. I needed someone to install a Handheld Shower Head do to my failing health and unable to stand. I called Ben Kohn on Friday morning and he stated he had a packed schedule for the day but indicated he would try and make it. Ben called me around 5:30pm stating he would come by and look to see what was needed. He arrived at 7:30pm, way after his normal business hours. We had a slow flushing/overflowing/leaking toilet in our master bathroom, so I gave Sink and Sewers a call based on the reviews I saw on Yelp. Ben responded to my call the same day and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Arriving early the next day, he took care of the problem which turned out to be a stray piece of PVC pipe lodged vertically in the vent stack. The toilet flushes fine now. He also took a video to show the condition of the sewer line/vent which he makes available (privately) on Youtube. He is friendly, professional with fair and upfront pricing. Can't say enough good things about Ben and his service. After searching for a plumber on Yelp, we got to experience first hand about what great things everyone was talking about with Ben. He's fair, flexible, friendly, professional, very knowledgeable, and very conscientious. He loves what he does. We had him come out to our home for a couple of different things and more than once. Everything from installing a new garbage disposal, new toilet, & kitchen faucet, to fixing our annoying leaking toilets from wasting water. I know Ben for about 4 years now. I always knew if I had any emergencies with my plumbing or sewage, I would call Ben. Just a two weeks ago it did happen...I had a real emergency; my main sewer pipe broke under the slab! I knew it's bad and it happened on Friday. Ben came the same day and worked through all weekend until everything was done and I know that's done with the highest quality possible. I could write about every detail of is great work and what he had to do to fix my sewer line, but I just have to say one thing - he is the guy to go to. I am new to Ventura and searched on Yelp for a plumber, one of the top plumbers was Ben of From Sinks to Sewers. I had a number of small jobs to do and told Ben about them, he said he could come by at about 3 PM but called me about 1 pm to ask if he could come by earlier. Wow, earlier. We met at about 1:30, he gave me an estimate and he got to work. He finished in a couple of hours, tested everything and came in right on the money even though I asked him to look at a few other things. I give him my absolute highest recommendation. Ben did an excellent job in doing a camera survey of an investment property we were purchasing. He was recommended by our realtor who had heard excellent things about him. We were on the East coast when this was done. He completed the job, posted the results in an email and put the camera results on You tube so we could see the whole process. Outstanding. In fact he did this without seeing us and being paid for the work. This was greatly helpful since we were out of state and in other countries in rapid succession. Was about to landscape my front yard when it was pointed out that I should scope my main sewer line which runs directly under where we want to put a path. Luckily for me I found From Sinks to Sewers who came out and sent a camera down my sewer clean out. The sewer line was flattened so he suggested that it be replaced. Ben was very professional, courteous, very knowledgeable, and was a fantastic bargain. I even got a copy of the inspection video to give to the insurance company. As manager of Trojan Storage of Oxnard and with only one bathroom in the building, our plumbing working is important. Ben came the first time and found that root monster in picture #41. Hard to believe it drained at all. Just needed him a second time. Was here in 45 minutes. Paper towels made it to a part of pipe that is smashed from above. We could see it on his camera. Just had Ben out to fix a few minor things. He did a grat job on replacing a leaking copper pipe. He was on time, efficient, took care of the problem quickly, and cleaned up the area nicely. No copper shavings or old parts laying around after he left. His price was very reasonable. Ben Kohn's service is excellent, straightforward, with good communication and satisfying results. Ben knows plumbing! He will analyze the problems to fully inform the homeowner. A repeatedly clogging toilet turns out to have an improperly plumbed, horizontal drain prone to backup. I saw it on Ben's TV probe and it answered the decade-old question, "What's the deal with that toilet?" Prompt service at a reasonable price!!! Encountered a small pinhole leak in the main water pipe coming into the house. Of course, we tried to fix it since it happened on Dec.31, 2013! It continued to leak and on Jan.2 I called Ben (recommended by my son) and within a short time he was there to fix the pipe! No more leak! Outstanding service that is rare to find!
