    a dinosaur themed cake

I've been getting my cakes here for three years for both my boys' birthdays. I have been really pleased over the years with both her decorations and flavors. Also her prices can't be beat, she's very reasonable. Today we picked up a Jurassic World cake, the top layer was a whoopie pie flavor and the bottom layer was cookies and cream. The cake was a huge hit and we couldn't have been happier. Go to Front Porch Bakery for all your birthday needs, you won't be disappointed.

Peanut Butter Cupcake! Moist, delicious & lots of frosting like a cupcake should be.

I love this bakery. The owner is always friendly and their cupcakes are delicious. I got the Peanut Butter for my special treat after a competition and they never disappoint; moist, fresh and lots of frosting. The way a cupcake should be!!

    Perfection!

This is the BEST bakery that I've ever done business with. The baby shower cake that I ordered was perfect! The taste and the detail were both above my expectations. If you are looking for a cake for an event, this is the place that you need to go.

We went with a non-traditional theme which included cupcakes a wedding topper cake for the dessert. We chose Grant's Bakery to do the topper cake and worked with Gary, one of their cake makers. Gary walked us through their process, portfolio and what options were available to us. He understood our theme and produced a white and gold themed topper cake which was spot on. My wife LOVED it and it. Unfortunately my wife and I were not able to have the cake for our wedding reception as we had to cancel due to a major incident impacting several of our Maine towns, but Gary was patient and willing to still make the cake despite their store being shut down for 2-3 days due to the incident. We pushed the due date for the cake to be ready, out a few days and when my wife picked it up, she LOVED it and complimented him several times on how he hit the theme with colors and the simplistic design. We were not looking for a large elaborate cake and despite the simple design, it exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Grant's Bakery for your wedding cake needs!

The reason I gave a tip at all is because they charge you at the counter before the terrible food and horrible service. Coffee is self serve. Paid for two, got 1 1/2 because the dispenser was empty. Told them. Refilled it as we were leaving. Wife asked for a blue berry muffin to be toasted thinking we would have pastries with coffee before the meal arrived. The meal arrived, twenty minutes later (there wasn't much of a crowd either) and there was no muffin. I had already eaten the worst excuse for a cinnamon something -- I have never had anything that bad from a gas station shelf. I had a breakfast sandwich - overcooked egg, barely any cheese detectable and bacon. Very dry, no butter, no condiments. Home fries were horrible! Wife had 3 eggs, 2 bacon, home fries, toast. Eggs overcooked, 1 piece of bacon nearly raw. After reminders muffin arrived w/ no butter. No salt, pepper, condiments on the table. I cannot think of one nice thing to say about this place.

It's driving me nuts. Keep in mind the baker gives you a little 4 inch cake on your one year anniversary as part of the deal... She wants you to have a fresh, not one year freezer burn, cake to celebrate with. Well, for my three year anniversary I'm buying the wife a six inch cake and I hope this will put the I want more cake screams to rest.

I first discovered Ahmisa at Axis Natural Foods in Auburn, ME 'lo some years ago. I was trying to…read moreeat more vegan; the most difficult adjustment for me was trying to find egg and dairy-free sweets that both tasted good and didn't break the bank. Axis began carrying little two-bite cakes from Ahimsa (a local company), and everyone seemed to love them (read: they were so popular that Axis frequently ran out!). When I finally got to try one, I believe it was chocolate-peanut butter. And: IT. WAS. DELICIOUS. Unlike so many other vegan baked goods I had tried, it wasn't cardboard-y in either taste or texture; it was perfectly moist, unbelievably flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth good. I had never thought something vegan could taste so sinfully delicious (Ahimsa is super proud of the fact that 90% of their returning customers aren't veg or veeg)! Since then, I had the privilege of working with Kristi (the baker and artist) on a project for my blog. She made me a beautiful german chocolate cake with the most delectable coconutty, bourbon-vanillay frosting I've ever had in my life (thinking about it now is making me drool a little... I could have probably eaten the stuff straight outta the container with a spoon). I didn't share a single bite, and to this day, I don't regret that decision at all! If you're searching for all-natural, organic, from-scratch cakes or cupcakes... look no further! If you're in need of an Ace of Cakes-style 3D-sculpted style cake... your search is over. Ahimsa (which means non-violence towards all living things) is absolutely the place for you. Do know: everything is made to order and you'll need to make an appointment, because Kristi works out of her state-licensed and inspected home kitchen (and just showing up at her house would be wildly rude and uncool!). Finally, should you get some cupcakes... let me know. Because, y'know, a dozen is too much for you to eat alone, and I'd be more than willing to help you :)
