This was by far the worst experience I've had with a medical professional. Dr. Christiansen not…read moreonly asked me if my hair was real, but then proceeded to reach out and touch it. When I jumped back, he continued forth with his attempt to touch my hair and feigned offense as if I had accosted him with my discomfort. (I'm not at all sensitive about my hair being fake, but this is about the principle of the matter.) He did not apologize when I expressed discomfort, instead he doubled down. My eyes were dilated over three times because he couldn't see and he was so aggressive in checking my eyes that I was nauseous (which I stated). The equipment used was dirty- I initially thought it was stained but when they exited the room I took a tissue and hand sanitizer to wipe it down and it was makeup. Upon entering the office, the receptionists were passive aggressive. I entered the lobby and was met with stares instead of a greeting. I had to say hello to get the ball rolling. I asked one of the receptionists if she could let me know if they received my email for in processing because I didn't use my regular account to email them (because the option wasn't available on my phone) and she didn't even verbally respond or physically signal "ok"- she just looked at me with contempt. Elizabeth was not as rude as Dr. Christiansen or her direct peer, but she escorted me out of the office as if I had done something wrong. It surprised me and I even said "Oh, that's all?" because there was no out processing- it was never even confirmed if they received my email as a new patient, but I was billed! Throughout this entire ordeal I was polite and even tempered and I never reciprocated the behavior I was met with. The only reason I didn't immediately leave after the treatment I received in the lobby was because this was my final appointment after a slew of medical errands and I just wanted to be done. Update: Shortly after posting this review, the office placed a hang-up call to my personal phone after they were already closed- it's 5 pm on a Sunday.

The offices are conveniently located. When a retina specialist is needed, time is usually of the essence. At Front Range Retina, scheduling an appointment is not an ordeal- no referral is required and once you arrive for your appointment you won't be kept waiting forever to see the doctor!

Tara and Casey explained exactly what was going to happen and were very informative, pleasant and professional. Dr Hovland (who unfortunately will be retiring this summer) has a wonderful "bedside" manner. He was very approachable and took his time explaining exactly what he saw and how he arrived at his diagnosis. He took his time with me and answered all my questions, including going into detail what are the next steps. His assistant, Lexi, even wrote down for me the notes of the exam that I can take home and show to my wife. This was a very impressive experience and I highly recommend this practice for eye issues!

Make no mistake, this is a medical emergency that can result in loss of an eye and blindness! The symptoms are floaters in the eye and a blurry spot. We progressed quickly from primary care, to ophthalmology to these retina specialists. Everyone here treated my husband with kindness, respect and urgency! Our only issues were with the holiday weekend, doors locked etc. Luckily, we always had a number we could call to get in! The surgeon and staff working on call on Easter weekend saved my husband's eyesight and thought nothing of working the holiday weekend! They mentioned it was busy, but these dedicated professionals were there for us. We had everything we needed to go home for the rest of the weekend and by day 2, my husband felt much better. Multiple locations throughout the metro!

That went well. Everything was well explained. From there he got a Monday morning surgery appointment. Dr. Zhang did a great job. My husband had lots of concerns and questions and Dr. and nurse Chris were very thorough in their explanations. It's been about a month and his vision is pretty much back to normal except for the effects of the oil bubble (vs typical air bubble because we live above 8000') which will be removed in a few months when they're sure eye is completely healed. Our regular eye doctor has looked at Richard's eye and is very impressed with how well it's healing. We're grateful he saw Richard on a Friday night and set him up with Dr Zhang for surgery. Would definitely recommend to anyone with a similar need. They are a very busy practice, but are very well organized, pleasant, professional and caring.

Next day bandage comes off and I can't see. After 1.5 months of repeated test, scans, and imaging at different offices he tells me " you woke during surgery and this is my fault". Two weeks later and more test and images at different office he tells me "he isn't sure what is wrong and can't help", but hey the eye I can't see out of is healthy... If you are reading this and this is your surgeon. I hope you aren't told almost two month later how while you were sedated and in their care you did something that lost you your vision! Good Luck!
