Front Seat Coffee is a major gathering spot in Hardwick. In addition to excellent coffee and espresso drinks, they offer matcha and chai drinks and seasonal specialties. Noted for its varied and delicious baked goods. They also have breakfast and lunch items, such as empanadas and sandwiches made in house. Very friendly staff and excellent service, too. Good wi-fi is available so many habituees linger over their laptops. The shelves include games and reading material, plus ceramics, jewelry, greeting cards, wool, maple products and logo-branded tees, hoodies and messenger bags. Dog friendly, there's a wall covered with pet photos and there's always an art exhibit with pieces for sale. read more

this is the best café in the general area. lots of folks playing games & sharing laughs, working, reading, or simply enjoying an excellent beverage with house-made flavors. lots of café's in the area use syrups for their flavoring; this is not one of them. for me, a simple black coffee is fantastic. i've finished some good books here. cool people, great music, local art - it's the place to be. read more

This place made my dreams come true for downtown Hardwick. It is always so peaceful and welcoming there. Very aesthetically beautiful, between the building itself and what they've done to it. Everything we've ever gotten (whether it was food or drink) was great. I haven't once seen a slip-up in quality on anything. Kind of a wow in my book. I didn't take a picture, but I just ate the best breakfast sandwich I think I've ever eaten. They make it with their house made biscuit (which had chives and maybe some other herbs) and a perfectly seasoned egg (pepper and other herbs). They have ones with sausage and bacon. I had the bacon one and the bacon was also amazing. The cheese was phenomenal as one would expect in Vermont. Coffee was great as well. If I lived locally, those sandwiches would be hard to resist. read more

This place is heaven. I've been coming to the NEK in the summers for decades and this is the most beautiful addition to Hardwick. Coffee is great, staff couldn't be nicer, the space is stunning and the toasts are amazing (loved the curry chickpea and the avocado). My family and I came here multiple times a day during our trip.
