The food here is very good, but unfortunately they made a mistake on my order and I had to wait for it to be remade. The waiter was apologetic and made it right as quickly as he could. We went shortly after opening on a week day, and despite the restaurant being very quiet, they sat everyone right next to each other, which is a pet peeve of mine. There also appeared to be only one server working. This may explain why it took a while before someone took our order, and why he never checked in on how the food was (we had to flag him down). I ordered the Korean tacos. They were advertised as marinated beef tacos. The beef had no flavor and there was barely any beef, and the beef that was there was flavorless. It was a sprinkling of tiny beef cubes with a ton of cabbage and tomato piled on top. The rice was pretty good, i liked that they had Cholula at the table. We dined here on Monday December 18th - the place was practically empty, we were seated quickly and served well. First time trying out the place, I really like the festive decor and vibe. As soon as we sat down, we were offered complimentary chips and salsa. My parner opted for a plate of birria beef tacos which come with rice and beans. I chose the build your own combination plate of pulled pork quesadillas, ground beef tacos and chicken enchiladas. The pricing and portion were good - we got a lot of food and everything was extremely tasty. Honestly this is one the best mexican/tex-mex plates I've had. The meats were tender, juicy and seasoned well. The only thing I didn't care too much for were the beans. The very small portion of beans were in some sort of liquid, like a soup, I was expecting classic refried beans which were firmer in texture. The flavors were good though. There's a wide menu with lots of daily specials - something to please everyone. Our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area by far. The family that owns and runs it are all really friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is festive and we often ask to sit at the table next to the "tree with dogs". The food is delicious. First on the menu, the birra burrito is excellent. I also like the street tacos. With very little guac and sour cream it was also very dry. My son had a special chimichanga, which he said was tasty, but, being deep fried, he wouldn't order it again. Very disappointing. The food was just ok. The service was terrible. Our apps arrived the same time as the meal. We ordered both together and the food was out in just minutes. How can it be fresh? The waitress never even apologized or said anything about it all coming out together. She never checked on us. Tried to take my plate with half my food left. She has zero personality. If I'm in the mood for Mexican this is my typical go-to. The food is pretty consistently good while the service can be hit or miss. They also do a great job with takeout and delivery. Everything is well packaged, I don't recall ever receiving an incorrect order, and they've been good about honoring requests (like I once asked for my taco salad shell to be separate from the fillings so it wouldn't get soggy. No problem!) Their carnitas are amazing. I order them often. And their charro beans are a must. The fajitas are a ridiculous portion and very good. If I add extra peppers, onions, and tortillas to my leftovers I can easily get 3-4 meals out of one order. I recommend ordering the pickled red onions with everything. They are so good. Although I've had more than one server look at me with confusion when I ask for them. It's odd. Their taco salad is good. I am not a fan of their quesadillas. They usually have very little filling and are bland. The Korean taco is also not a favorite. I find the flavor profile odd. I miss their salsa cart that they discontinued when Covid hit. I'm also disappointed they don't have tamales on the menu but it doesn't stop me from going. Their lunch menu is a real hidden gem. It's supposed to be smaller portions for a significantly lower price but I still find the portions huge. It's a great value. This is a privately owned chain restaurant that has locations around the country. The chef who created the menu is Rick Bayless, a famous chef known for his Mexican dishes. My wife has been buying Frontera salsa for a long time. This restaurant just opened in Nashua and this is the first one in NH. There are at least three in MA. The first thIng you notice when you walk in the door is the fact that this restaurant was not created on a small budget. They spent some real money remodeling the old Chilis restaurant. The result is a very nicely done Mexican restaurant. It looks like it will seat a few hundred diners at a time. It was lightly populated during our lunch. Most people were locals out shopping and there were a number of families with children. All of the cars were from NH and MA. I had the Bombay chimichanga and my wife had the chili rellenos. The presentation was quite nice. They try to keep their lunch dishes priced around $10 so lunch portions are on the small side. The first thing I noticed is the flavors really jump out at you. I thought my dish was excellent and my wife agreed. On the way out we noticed a salsa bar and realized we could have spiced up our dishes if we had wanted to. There is always next time. The decor is reminiscent of on the border and other Mexican restaurants like it but this place brings it to the next level incorporating what looks to me like old toys and art that makes it feel more personal as if you were home. Please do not eat here if you're vegetarian. On 2 different occasions (take out) we have ordered something vegetarian and found chicken and pork in the vegetarian dish. On another occasion we had a cross contamination and our kid (allergic to nuts) had to be rushed to the ER with an allergic reaction to something he had eaten there on 2-3 prior occasions. Now that Frontera has been open for a few a years and I've tried more of their food, I like it a lot more. I wish I could give half stars because while I'm not sure it's 5 stars, 4 seems a bit low. One thing that I've always loved is they seem to consistently have really fresh veggies and slaw etc. They have a delicious passion margherita. It contains passion fruit juice, pomegranate, fresh lime, house mix and a cute little upside down bottle of prosecco, so yummy! I miss the salsa bar I know they had to get rid of it because of covid, but I hope they bring it back soon. I believe you can probably order different types of salsa, but it was nice being able to see them all and have a little taste of each. We did a takeout order, called it in and it was ready when we got there, had the gordito burrito and a fiesta taco salad. Got it home and found that the gordito burrito was just rice/onions/peppers (I asked for pork and it was supposed to have beans). I called them back and they said to stop by and they will make me a new one, no charge. I stopped back the next day, told them the issue and they said they would have one right out. Got that home and this time it was just rice and pork, still no beans and now missing the onions and peppers. My wife said the taco salad was OK. I like that they tried to make it right with my burrito but to do it wrong twice is "no bueno" for me, we know several other places that make a good burrito so we'll try them next time. read more

We came because of the Dollar taco night on Tuesdays. We thought it was worth a shot just for the price. We were quite impressed with the authentic taste and fresh ingredients as well as the amazing crispy taco they were served it. Then we tried a couple of their specialty tacos (they cost more) but again we were quite impressed with the flavor profile and fresh ingredients. Wow! This place has it down,from when you first walk in to when you leave, our new favorite restaurant! You have the choice of indoor or outdoor seating, we opted foe indoor (It was too humid for us outside.) When you ate seated moments later you are treated to chips and salsa. The chips were a little salty but good, the salsa was standard with a touch of heat. The waiter took our order, was quick to refill my drink, without me asking which is always a plus, and the food was on our table in record time! My wife got the.tacos, my son chicken fajitas loaded with grilled chicken slices and I got the sonoma enchiladas.
