Very good food; authentic, and fresh. Local small business with a very clean kitchen. Dining area is small but very nice, nothing fancy. Very clean bathrooms. This place is an example that the best food is often at the small mom and pop shops. This is authentic Mexican food, not generic corporate franchise food. Much better than Chipotle in my opinion. The food is usually ready fast, usually 15 minutes. I realy enjoy the Birria tacos and the carne asada fries. Amazing place! Stopped here on our way up to Mount Sunapee for some food and it was great! We stopped here on our way up to the mountains for a quick bite and wow, what a gem! We all got a variety of tacos and sides and everything was absolutely bursting with flavor! Get the birria tacos! Call me obsessive. But it seems I'm always on the lookout for the next best birria tacos. Ever since we first tried La Caretta in Derry almost immediately after moving here last year, theirs have been the "gold standard" to beat. At least....for us. And even despite the fact their tacos haven't quite tasted the same as when we first tried them, they still somehow remain the best ones we can find in the 603 area. Baja Tacos' version comes in at a close second though. And that's what we all decided to try via take-out on a Thursday night because I was too uninspired and lazy to cook anything that night. So, how do they compare? Well, although they could have used more seasoning, they weren't half bad. This, of course, extends to their consomme dipping sauce as well. For those who don't know, this is what gives the birria meat its unique flavor. The meat itself could have been a bit more tender. But again, it's not bad at all! Matter of fact, after a few dashes of salt in the consomme, the tacos actually embraced the seasoning really well. We recently ordered from another Mexican restaurant that served birria tacos which were SO bland, even adding salt didn't help. So, we were just grateful Baja's tacos didn't totally suck. All in all, I'd give their birria tacos a 7 out of 10. I highly recommend the salsa and chips. They're made in-house (of course) and that salsa has quite the kick! Think I may opt for mild next time as opposed to medium. My sissy American palate can only take so much spice. Now, when I first looked this place up, I expected it to be a dine-in type restaurant with servers and perhaps a full bar like La Caretta and several others. Much to our surprise, it's more like a short order joint. Yes, there's a dining room to sit in. But you order your food up front and the adult beverage selection is limited. Contactless payments are accepted here as well. All that said, this place is worth a go. I dig the interior, even though I think we'll be taking all orders to-go. That's mainly a preference thing, since we live in the area anyway. I'm gonna give Baja Tacos and Burritos 4 birria tacos dipped in consomme with extra seasoning out of 5. read more

We came yesterday (Friday) afternoon at 1:30 for lunch and it was so good! My husband got the birria burrito and I had the chicken burrito. Everything was extremely flavorful and the birria was tender with no gristle. As we ate all the fillings that fell out into the basket, we noticed that each filling was seasoned well on its own (rice, beans, etc), which is great for someone who can't enjoy the dairy-based sauces! I want to especially applaud the woman who was working first in the burrito line. We had never heard of birria before and definitely butchered the pronunciation. Not only did she not make us feel stupid, she was so nice and helped us build two burritos with her personal preferences. The other employees were nice and friendly as well. We will definitely be back! Just as a potential recommendation since we noticed the owner checks these reviews: it would be awesome if you offered a few 'premade burrito options' up near the menu board for customers who are open to trying your recommendations. Pretty good food, went for takeout and got a burrito bowl. I got the pork carnitas and they had a really nice flavor to them. Otherwise everything is pretty basic - pick your rice, beans, lettuce etc. very similar to chipotle, portion wise too. The homemade chips were good but the salsa is nothing like you've had probably- it's more sweet but not a ton of flavor. I didn't like how loud the music was when you walk in because I had to yell my order to them and there was trouble hearing each other. Other than that I would recommend trying it. read more

Was in town for work. Drove by and saw the micheladas and hand made tortillas proudly advertised. I love both of those things and decided to check it out. Chipotle ordering style, but the tortillas and al pastor were light years ahead of chain restaurant food. Michelada was good, I might ask for a little spicier and less lime next time, but I was very happy they were a featured menu item. Definitely California themed and the tacos were the best part. I'm from California and this is the best taqueria style Mexican food in NH.. it definitely fits the Mexican food craving. I love that they have Al Pastor, which is impossible to find around here. If you like chicken shawarma, it's the same concept but with pork, marinated on a spit with some pineapple. Yum! We also had their special Birria tacos on Mondays and they are super yum! I love pupusas but I personally wasn't a big fan of theirs. Their tortillas for their tacos are handmade and taste good, but they're thicker than what I'm used to.
