I'm very disappointed in the flight attendants on my flight 1282 from Denver to Chicago on August 13th. There were two people who were seated in the emergency row that did not speak English. They were told to get out of their seats and had to move to the back of the plane. If English is a prerequisite, why were they allowed to book these seats in the first place? Why isn't there a visual way to explain to passengers POLITELY why they needed to move if you can't explain it to them in their language? Both flight attendants were rude. I don't understand the negative reviews of Frontier Airlines. As long as you know what your purchasing (aka.. read the fine print, research the airline...etc.) you realize you get what you pay for. Frontier does not claim to be the Cadillac of air travel. They are more the Chevy Cobalt of air travel. Here's the bottom line. Frontier gives you a BASE fare. Then it's up to you if you would like to add extras, for a fee. If you'd rather fly with an airline that gives you those extras, added into your base fare, then do that! You can fly round trip to Orlando for $30-$60 on a BASE fare with Frontier, then add in the OPTIONAL bag fees or seat fees to make your ticket $100-$130 round trip. OR....pay a flat $150-$250 for a round trip ticket to Orlando on other airlines that offers seat and bags for "free". I'd rather pick and choose what I want to pay for, than be forced to pay for things I don't care about. Secondly....Frontier is a smaller airline, so they don't have multiple flights per day. Know that going into it! You need to realize that there is a chance your flight could be delayed or cancelled, with no replacement flight until the next day. If you are ok with taking that chance, book the flight! If you'd rather have the guarantee of getting to your destination regardless if your flight is cancelled... then book another airline!! Again, it all goes back to knowing what your purchasing. I have flown Frontier multiple times, never had an issue, and will continue to support them!!! read more

Do not fly on this airline. The ticket was a gift from a generous family member, and I'm sure she did not realize the poor service from this airline. The cost to check a bag was $50, and my boarding pass clearly stated that I couldn't take any carry in luggage. Once in flight, the passengers couldn't even get a coke unless they paid for it. I was supposed to have a wheelchair on arrival. I waited about a half hour and no one came. The service was horrible, the flight was delayed and little communication about late arrival. Very bad customer service, We booked 4 tickets to Tampa Fl. Later the frontier airline sent us email informing us that the coming back flight time changed and delayed. We agreed to the new time. Then when the covid 19 cases on Florida went crazy up, we wanted to cancel the tickets. They told us no refund and cannot get credit because we lost our one time chance to make changes which was the one time that they made the changes on the flight time. 3 hour delay out of Orlando, NOT due to weather. 8:00 PM arrival became 10:40 PM, still NO luggage or announcements at O'Hare baggage claim. Also on the way to Orlando, the flight attendants told us there were TWO bathrooms in the back of the planes, did not let us use the forward washroom although they used it personally, so rude. Would never recommend flying on this. It was very unprofessional, and the pilot yawned on speakerphone in the middle of the flight. It was a very rough flight and would never go on it again. They kept us on the plane for over and hour because they couldn't find a gate. They only gave us water, very cheap. I wouldn't even put one star but that is the least it will go. The seats were hard as a rock and the tables were 5 inches long. Just got back from universal and this was more uncomfortable than the biggest roller coaster there, and I don't like roller coasters. read more

NEVER AGAIN! Initially cheaper than United (via Expedia), upon check in, however found $15 per seat, $30 for a carry on, and $20 for a checked bag. Ultimately: same ticket price as United. Frontier CHARGES for a soda and doesn't offer booze (I think). Chairs are stripped down to a bare minimum and quite uncomfortable with minimum individual room. Checked baggage had to be wheeled by customer to TSA screening...via a line that spanned the ENTIRE Terminal 3 at ORD at 7AM on a Saturday. Ridiculous. United (especially w Mileage Plus Explorer card) doesn't charge for carry on, 1st checked bag, or seat guarantee. United takes checked bag at counter so you are hands free in security. United offers more than 1 security line at ORD). Frontier on the way back from DEN was ok...the airport part anyway. read more

I wanted to give this airline a try because I've never flown it before. I had no idea what to expect. They have the WORST customer service, I have ever encountered. Both from BNA to ORD and ORD to BNA. The lady at BNA threw my luggage so hard, she broke various makeup products. She was friendly, but the way she threw my bag was unacceptable. The people working in Chicago had the worst attitude. They are NOT friendly or helpful. The lady who checked in my bag, finished and didn't say "have a great day" or anything. I had no idea she was done with her service. I stood there for 5 minutes and asked if everything was done and she rolled her eyes and said yeah. Aside from the customer service, I'm pretty sure this is the only airline that charges $30 for a carry on item and $25 for a checked bag. There aren't any free carry on bags allowed. I believe that is ridiculous. I'm pretty sure I'll never use frontier airlines, ever again. And I'll never recommend them either. I fly regularly from Houston to Denver. Frontier has the lowest fare and flight times that work for me. Usually the flight is ok. My last trip has me questioning the safety of this airline. Flight to Denver, the Captain announced in the cabin the first officer was taking us to Denver. Landing we experienced a sudden ascend manuver during the decent. It was a bit concerning. Flight back to Houston, delayed, then not delayed. The plane was old, needed paint, worn out on the inside. Both flight attendents in the front were clearly not first rate in ability, one in her 70's the other an obese guy with dark circles under his eyes with a posture problem. How the heck are these two going to respond properly in an emergency? We landed and had to wait almost an hour for the Frontier gate to clear. To be fair, I did get a $50 credit in an email a few dfays later apologizing for somthing. I am usually flying in old planes that Frontier cant keep up or clean very well. I was due to fly with Frontier Airlines to see family in Chicago. My plane was scheduled to land around 7pm where my Brother-in-law would pick me up. We got a notification from Frontier around 12pm, the day of our departure, that our flight was going to be delayed and would not land until 11pm. I called Frontier customer service and spoke with the manager (Brent) to discuss my situation. I asked if they could book me on another flight with frontier or with another airline (I have received similar service in the past with other airlines). He said he was unable to do that as the manager of customer service and there is nothing they can do to resolve my situation. I spoke with my brother-in-law and he said he could not pick me up at that late of time because he has kids to take care of. I would then have to take a taxi service from the airport to their house in Naperville (which would total to around $100). I called Frontier back and spoke with John (did not give last name). I asked if Frontier could pay for the taxi service to take me to my sister and brother-in-laws' house. He directed me to Brent whom I have spoken with previously. Brent said that he will not pay for my taxi to take me to their house despite the fact that it is Frontiers fault my flight was delayed in the first place and has put me in this impossible situation. After talking extensively with Brent, he directed me to customer relations. A guy named Luke picked up the phone. I first asked him what his last name was (for recording purposes) and he refused on the account of "um, because I don't know you." Luke refused to grant me a taxi service, as well, to take me to my families house. So not was my flight with frontier delayed four hours (which is inconvenient in itself), they refused to book another flight for me or to pay for my taxi service. I am now out an extra $100 because of their poor customer service and lack of sympathy. Flight to Vegas was alright. Lot of turbulence but that comes with the territory. Vegas coming home... different story. Very rude flight attendants. It was a midnight flight. Sunday night into Monday morning when most people need to work almost as soon as they land/get home. My friends and I were trying to get some rest while the flight attendants in the back made the most noise I've ever heard on a flight. My friend was even staring at them listening to their conversation about passengers on other flights. She then asked one of the other flight attendants to see if they could keep it down in the back and the lady literally said that flight attendants had no obligation to make the flight enjoyable for others. She also said they couldn't sleep so we didn't have to. Are you kidding me??? This is their job... it's not ours. We are paying for them to stay awake. Seriously, if I had ever said something like that at my job... and she gave the worst attitude ever. So my friend made contact with corporate who said they would reach out to her. They never did. Booked a trip to Orlando in April which was canceled due to travel restrictions, which was understandable. I was then expected to use the travel credit by June or else I would lose it. I ended up booking a flight to Las Vegas (8am flight) in August. Two days later Frontier changes my flight to 9pm of the departure date. I booked a flight to Nashville TN from Chicago MDW in September 2016 and bought their WORKS package just in case I needed to cancel and could use the refund for a different flight. I did need to cancel the Sept 2016 flight. Well, here I am 6 months later trying to find a flight to Nashville TN again, and I am informed they no longer fly to Nashville. I fly every couple of months to Seattle, and thought the Den Deals was a good option for booking with some savings. I made one trip reservation for a great time, but when it came time to book for the next one, no flights were available. So I tried to keep booking further out into the year for the next ones and still no availability. I was frustrated and contacted customer service for a refund since I would not be able to take advantage of the Den Deals ever again, and they denied my request. Turns out that one flight wasn't as good of a deal as I thought. Otherwise, not a great airline to fly anyway. No frills or comfort, which would have been tolerable if they had flight availability and the low prices. What good are the low prices if they aren't any flights? read more

Frontier Airlines is considered a budget airline. With this comes many implications: everything has an extra price!!! BEFORE YOU CHECK IN: in order to avoid extra fees I suggest you arrive AT LEAST 2 hours earlier than the boarding time for domestic flights. They have been known to deny check in before the stated time on their policy. Also, you can check in 24 hours in advance online. Check in at home (hotel, etc.) and print your boarding pass before arriving at the airport. This saves you at least $10 (a small piece of paper with a code is not worth $10 in my opinion. Especially if you can just print it at home). Then, make sure you pay for any checked bags AND carry on bags before you arrive at the airport as well. I had to pay $25 for my checked bag and $30 for my carry on bag. You are only allowed ONE carry one item. You can't even pay to bring another one. I think the price doubles if you pay at the airport. You are only allowed one personal item (that fits under the seat in front of you). There is no "first class" section on the plane. The first three rows are considered "stretch" seats with more legroom so I believe it was about $80 to upgrade to one of those seats. I chose to pay $25 to sit in the 4th row so I could enter & exit the plane as quickly as possible. It turned out to be worth it because not many people bought the "stretch" seats so after takeoff I jumped up to the third row (which was empty) and slept while laying down for the entire flight (both to and from Los Angeles). However, I wouldn't bank on being able to do that. ON THE PLANE: You also have to pay extra for any drinks or snacks on the plane. You do not get a complimentary drink. Buy one from one of the stands or pay about $3 for a drink on the plane. It's your choice. The flight attendants were nice enough, but I never really had much interaction with them because I didn't buy anything on the plane. They did allow me to lay out my wedding dress completely in an overhead bin because we did not have a full flight (my dress also counted as a my carry on item and cost me $30 to bring). All in all, I made sure to do all of the steps above and did not experience any problems. I made it to and from my destination. However, I honestly don't think I saved much money with all the extra fees I ended up paying. Unless you are planning to fly without any luggage and don't mind spending extra time and money for every little thing.... I don't suggest you fly Frontier. read more

They are better than Spirit, barely. Definitely a budget company. It's only cheap if you aren't bringing luggage or care where you sit. They don't even give you water on the plane, you have to buy it. They didn't seat my husband and I together either, we both had to buy our seats. We tried to have one do random seating and the other buy the one next to it, too and the website said we got the seat until the card processed and then we didn't have seats together. They tried to bilk my wife and I out of $120 for the convenience of checking bags in the terminal. Pure extortion. We had plenty of time before the flight, so we elected to go back to the ticket counter to pay a cheaper ransom. Got a double-dose of fun at the security checkpoint for our trouble. Frontier is a budget airline so don't expect any sweet amenities like free bag check, beverages, or food. The only thing you get for free is water. There is no in-flight entertainment, the seats do not recline, and the trays are about the size of a small electronic tablet. There is also below average leg room and you cannot pick your seats unless you pay extra for that too (however there are premium seats with more leg room available). Does this all sound pretty horrible? Well, if you are the type of person who prefers quality over quantity then this airline is probably not the right fit for you. But if you are just trying to get from point A to point B spending the least amount of money possible and don't need all the extra frills than this is one of the airlines that would serve your needs. read more

Chicago O'hare Frontier - #1 Worst part is YOU CANNOT CHECK-IN and PRINT YOUR TICKET ONLINE. If you do not show up exactly 45 minutes before your flight takes off they will not give you a ticket, even if you are just going on a day trip with no bags. I normally just walk straight into security. Unfortunately Frontier makes you talk to their rude staff. Like others, I wish I could give negative stars and I didn't even make it on a flight! Booked a flight for our upcoming family vacation last Friday (2/20). Received an email this morning (2/23) that the flight had been changed from non-stop both ways to us flying from CHI to DEN to TAMPA and vice versa coming back. First problem, less than 72 hrs and my flight changed for a trip that isn't until 4/30. Second problem, a non stop flight to a flight with layovers. Third problem, you're flying us across the country just to fly back. Fourth problem, if you're changing the flight two months out who's to say it won't change again? I should have gone with my instinct and booked with another airline. AVOID Frontier at all costs. Their only redeeming quality is that I will receive a full refund, but I won't see that for two weeks. Thought the nickel and dime wouldn't be so bad since the price was still about $100 less than even Spirit. NOT WORTH IT! I've never felt so uneasy after booking a flight. Dropped because of the Mayweather vs Pacquiao mega fight. Dear Mr. Siegel: I am writing this because of the unfortunate experience I've had with Frontier Airlines. On February 23, 2015, I received a telephone call that my flight (II) (See Schedule below) was cancelled. I originally booked this trip through Orbitz on December 16th, 2014. Prior to writing this letter, I sent another letter, in the form of a complaint, stating that Frontier had cancelled my flight in order to resell the ticket for a higher price. After further investigation, I see that flight (II) was cancelled, but replaced with the (III). At the time of my cancellation call, the customer representative agent gave me an option of flying on an indirect flight the same day, a direct flight much later that evening, or a sooner flight that would have got me to my destination a full day earlier. The only viable options that was suitable for my schedule was the flight that was leaving a day sooner (April 29, 2015). Also during the call, I asked (A1) if I could receive some kind of compensation for extended lodging expenses since I was flight a day sooner. (A1) mentioned that lodging compensation was against company policy. Not pleased with the outcome, I allowed (A1) to revise my traveling schedule for a day sooner as I planned to pay out of pocket money for extended lodging. However, the option of flight (III) was never made available to me. I didn't notice that flight (III) was an option until I actually went onto Frontier's website and saw it posted after finishing the cancellation call with (A1). That flight would have fit my schedule. The next day I decided to give customer service a call to express my displeasure with not being provided the option of flying on flight (III). After speaking with (A2), she was able to get in contact with (A1) who conveyed to her that flight (III) was made an option for me and that I declined, and opted to fly a day sooner. On top of feeling mistreated, the false statement from (Agent 1) left me feeling insulted. In my flying history, I've never had an airline experience like this. If your company cannot honor the rates and time stipulations set forth, it should not be in business. For Frontier to call me, cancel flight (II), not offer any compensation for adjusted lodging, not provide a truthful option, is offensive. Apparently the moral standards of Frontier Airlines are not applicable for proper planning. Due to the unethical treatment, I booked with another airline altogether. I would like to be financially compensated for additional flight cost since the current ticket price was significantly more expense than when I purchased on December 16, 2014. I'm not only writing you in regards to this, but do plan to make this very public as I've taken to Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, and will continue to seek other sources. Frontier Schedule I.
