.If you are considering flying with Frontier Airlines, please do yourself a favor and don't. I had the worst experience flying from San Francisco (SFO) to Hartford, with a connection in Atlanta. I paid for a carry-on bag, yet a flight attendant removed my bag from the plane at the last minute and told me it would be checked and delivered to my final destination. During my connection in Atlanta, the situation got even worse. The flight was delayed because the gate was changed at the last minute without any announcement. All passengers were waiting at the wrong gate until someone finally went to ask. Only then did they casually mention--over the microphone--that the gate had changed to another terminal about 15 minutes away. When we finally arrived at the new terminal, the gate was changed again on the screen, and there were no Frontier employees present to explain what was happening or assist passengers. When I arrived in Hartford, my luggage never showed up. Frontier has no employees, no office, and no baggage service desk at the airport. No one answers the phone, and I have been left completely on my own trying to locate my belongings. I am currently in a different state on vacation, without my clothing or personal items. This situation has been extremely stressful and has ruined my vacation. Frontier's lack of communication, organization, and customer support is unacceptable. If you get it at the right time, you can get really cheap fares on Frontier. The plane was an Airbus 321neo, very similar to many other large carrier airplanes. The plane was clean and modern. I was surprised to see 5 flight attendants for the flight, especially when the drink service is optional, so maybe only 30-40 people use the drink service... Anyway, you pay for everything, so for those who complain about that, they need to realize and understand that the business model for Frontier is such...if you don't like it, pick Delta, American, United, Southwest or Jetblue for example... The folding table was smaller than other carriers and the seat was not padded like other airlines...no recline either..... The overhead compartment was similar in size to other airplanes... Frontier Airlines Review Frontier Airlines was, without a doubt, the worst travel experience I've ever had. From the moment I checked in, I was treated with extreme rudeness and disrespect. I arrived at the Miami airport three hours early for my flight to Boston, and the staff member who assisted me was visibly upset, yelling at passengers, and completely unprofessional. My bag exceeded the weight limit by 7 pounds. I had two small empty bags and a backpack, and I asked to transfer items into the smaller bags to balance the weight. However, the staff member did not allow me to do so and insisted that I pay for the two small bags, claiming it would make no difference since the weight would be the same. In the end, I ended up paying over $300 in additional fees, and it felt like I was being taken advantage of. On top of that, the service was so poor that it made the entire situation even more frustrating. If it's up to me, I will never fly with Frontier Airlines again. They charge for absolutely everything and have no respect for their passengers. A complete disappointment! read more

Where to start.... 1. Booked flight from BDL airport to SFO over Christmas from Dec 17, return on Dec 27/28. Southwest charged the reasonable $35 fee to check a small soft fabric bag. 2. Arrived at BDL airport, flew to Baltimore on Southwest with three hour layover but due to a power outage in SF, turned into a six hour layover. Not their fault, I get it. 3. Arrived at SFO for my flight to BDL on December 27,2025 and was told there was no free carry on luggage, all luggage was charged an exhorbitant fee. One small carry on bag and another bag the same size as the other and the combined fee was $158!!!!!! 4. Arrived at the gate and heard flight crew discussing that we would be taking a short cut to the layover destination in Atlanta. Being a well traveled person, I was wary of the shortcut, and I was correct to worry. I asked the directions of the shortcut and it would be over the Rocky Mountains, in my opinion the roughest, most turbulent area in the US. The shortcut allowed us to reach Atlanta in 3.59 minutes, which was extremely fast, but no paying customer had asked for a three hour turbulent ride where the plane was shaking so hard from the turbulance, the sides of the plane soundd like they were coming undone. I know I was not the only person praying outloud as the plane hurtled through the air fast as a fighter jet. It was so fast that I guess one way to deal with bad turbulence is to hurtle through it as fast as one can, but the resultant feeling was chaos and not safe. 5. We landed more than an hour early and my thought was Well, okay. Great. I sure couldn't sleep on that red eye flight so I will get something to eat, but barely had the chance as there were three gate changes in the time we had, with the last change being a train ride to get to that last gate which was located at the very end of the train ride. All of the passengers, I am guessing about 300 people made a mad dash for the train since we were supposed to board as soon as we got there. No surprise, the train was packed to the gills. I know Frontier does not operate the train, but there were no handrails for me to hold onto and I couldn't reach the straps. I am 5'3" which is not tiny, but there was nothing I could reach and had to rely on the crowd of people to hold me upright. On exiting the train, there was an escaltor which a woman I had visited with fell down because her suitcase didn't fit on the escalator stair. 6. We finally got to the correct gate and when it was time to board, we found out the scanner gun for the boarding passes wasn't working. Yes that's right. The scanner wasn't working, so they had to check everyone onto the plane by searching for the boarding pass number on a list of passengers, then making a call to be sure this was correct. 300 people not being scanned, 300 waiting patiently as it went. 7. We got on the plane and a young girl sitting next to me, who had put her luggage into the bin sideways instead of wheels to the back was told she had to check her bag. The steward gave her a ticket for her bag but he first wrote MIA for Miami airport on the ticket, she corrected him and said she was going to Bradley, but he wrote ATL for Atlanta, and when I called him over and said she is not going to Atlanta she is going to Bradley, he just scratched it out and rewrote it. It is no wonder her bag is now lost and she cannot reach anyone at Frontier to help her find her bag. 8. Last of all, no one seemed in any hurry to get us out of there. The staff stood at the open door laughing and talking long after we were all boarded on the plane. We arrived almost 3 hours late, and when we got there it was freaking forever before baggage came out and as I said, not everyone got their bag. I will never fly Frontier again if only because a $60 charge for a carry on bag is insane and highway robbery. The almost $80 charge for the checked bag ($35 0n Southwest) was insane as well. When all charges were added up, I doubt my flight was cheap. I'd have rather spent it on a more reputable airline and next time I will. Remember, you get what you paid for. I only wish there were stars for BAD. This flight was BAD. read more

I guess I have to give them at least 1 star. I am approaching 2 months of dealing with Frontier over misplaced car seats for my children. I followed Frontier's instructions perfectly by purchasing a new car seat and stroller at our final destination. I submitted the receipt. Now I am in limbo. The phone number to speak with any human is rarely staffed. The chat feature is "bots." I downloaded WhatsApp just to get into the endless loop of "Im really sorry for your experience. Let me escalate your case. Please watch your email." A company with 1 billion is sales and 54 million in profit in 2024 gives you the run around over $150. read more

Absolutely the worst possible airline to choose. You'd be better off taking a bus, because that's what it feels like flying this airline. They're website is clumsy and designed to extract money for nothing from passengers. The onboard seats are small and entirely molded plastic. This is a terrible airline. After delaying the flight for 4 hours, when I finally arrived for the late flight, they inform me overbooked the flight by 17 people. If they were overbooked it would have been nice to know all day long so I could have gotten another flight. Of course they have no interest in their passengers. I was bumped but they offered a travel voucher for $1,500. I had no choice so I took it and was forced to buy a very expensive ticket on another airline at the last minute. When I returned I could not find any evidence of a voucher I had to spend hours on the phone. Somehow it became $1,000. I think they lied at the airport to stop the riot with all the furious people they left hung out to dry on that flight. Finally we got the voucher. We booked one flight for $234. When we tried to use the $786 leftover they said it is for one flight only! Of course they do not tell you that when you get it. You never get any official notification about the voucher. Probably so they can continue lying and changing the story. After hours on the phone an agent agrees it is unethical and says he will get the $786 reinstated the next day. The next day, no voucher. More hours wasted on the phone. Another story, it will be on tomorrow. The next day, no funds. More time on the phone, the last agent apologizes, but finally stops lying and informs us no funds ever and that the other agents shouldn't have lied to us. Very unprofessional and unethical. A truly awful experience from beginning to end. I wish there was an option for zero stars. read more

wait, wait, wait......if you don't mind waiting then go for it! I booked a round trip flight to RSW Airport from PVD. Plane landed loaded with folks at the time we were supposed to leave (be aware if you're getting a connecting flight). We had to wait for them to unload, clean and then we got on, not too bad. We arrived at RSW and had to wait for 2 planes to get out of the way for us to get to the gate (this feels like forever when you want to start your vacation) but it wasn't that long. Then the flight back home from RSW to PVD we arrived on time but had to wait for another plane that just landed to unload, clean and reload and back out. This turned out to be another 45 minute wait time. Everything is extra on this flight. Seats are very uncomfortable but you can BUY a seat in row 1-3 for extra charge (Cha-ching). Frontier is definitely is you het what you pay for and nothing else...... We travel from pvd to rsw every month, we have a winter home in Fort Myers so we don't need any luggage. The fares are wicked low $100 round trip for 2 of us but let me tell ya, the seats are so uncomfortable probably the worst on the planet and their customer service is almost non existent. read more

With Frontier you definitely do get what you pay for. I have taken 3 flights with Frontier and only one actually went well, and that was only because it was the very first flight out of PVD in 2017--- with the news stations there, they had an obligation to be on time. My second flight was delayed 6 times and then canceled 5 hours later forcing us to take a much more expensive flight out of a different airport with a different airline Let me also say that the delays had nothing to do with weather. My last flight, also continuously delayed. I have never experienced this kind of unreliability with any other airline. I will say they comped me relatively quickly for my replacement flight, even though it barely covered the cost. I wouldn't recommend using this airline if you have a need to be anywhere the same day. Book an early flight and you may arrive by midnight, best case scenario. read more

Following a net-neutral experience with Spirit, I had to do some serious convincing to get my wife on another budget airline. But when the fare difference for our fam of three netted more than thousand bucks (and included a seat for our infant), you better believe money talks. So we did our research: like most budget airlines, you pay for everything - carry on luggage, checked bags, snacks, prime seating, etc. With a reasonable travel plan, we paid $50 for a single checked bag (whereas a carry on runs $30), and each of us were permitted a personal item - no charge. We packed our own snacks, loaded up our iPads, and enjoyed two seamless flights on brand new jets with no delays, no surprises and no missed landings (looking at you, Spirit!). The biggest ding comes from a lack of communication as to where Frontier offers a curbside bag drop. Spoiler: they do not at TF Green or RSW. Meaning, even when you pre-purchase a checked bag and have boarding passes in hand, you still have to wait in line just to drop off your luggage. A bit of a bummer that doesn't reward those who plan ahead. Haters going off in other airport listings because they arrived inside the mandatory 45 minute pre-flight window, or because they ignored the fee schedule for carry-ons, make me SMDH. Frontier makes all of these fees clear, and hey, when I'm saving almost a grand, I'll throw in an extra fifTAY for a minor convenience. TL;DR: Three seats, roundtrip, non-stop to RSW on Frontier: $650. Two seats, roundtrip non-stop, same dates on JetBlue: $1600. read more

I heard about Frontier's cheap fares from a friend who needed to travel with her whole family and found a significantly lower price on Frontier than she did on every other airline. I was a bit nervous to book with them as I've seen some truly horrible reviews but if I've learned anything as a Yelper it's to take reviews into consideration but sometimes it's best to still check it out for yourself. It seems that some of the poor reviews came from people who didn't do their research, because a lot of the complaints were from people who were surprised that it's a budget airline and that everything is á la carte. I went into my booking knowing this. Frontier is very clear when you book that there are fees for everything and that it is much cheaper just to pay for baggage or seat assignment when you are booking. With that being said...Pay for your checked bags, seat assignments and any carry on luggage when you do your initial booking...it's cheaper. You do get one personal item to carry on for free. I didn't pay for a carry on and brought a bigger purse. Basically anything that will fit under the seat in front of you is acceptable for a personal item. You don't have to pay for a seat assignment however I prefer an exit row with a window so I did pay. Tip on paying for seat assignments...the exit rows have just as much leg room as the stretch seats and are a bit cheaper. On my flight today I was the only one in my row so I had lots to stretch room haha. In total I paid $160 round trip for my ticket from PVD to RSW. A steal of a price especially because it's "in season." My actual airfare RT was $38.90! Now we get to the flight itself. Snacks and drinks are for sale, debit or credit card only, however save yourself some cash and just pack some snacks or pick some up at the shop in the terminal, that's what I did. The crew was very friendly, nice and were seemingly ready to help with anything. The seats are not as comfortable as other airlines I've flown, but again this is a budget airline. The plane I was on was a brand new airbus and was fairly large. The flight was fairly smooth. The boarding and deplaning processes were run smoothly. Every staffer I met from the check in counter to the crew were helpful and friendly. Oh did I mention that my flight was also nonstop?! I know this was a longer review but there are a lot of things to consider. Always remember you get what you pay for, this is a budget no frills airline and to take every review with a grain of salt and not as the finale word on everything. Always do your own research and read the fine print. I had an enjoyable experience with Frontier and will definitely fly with them for future trips. read more

It was my first time flying this airline and it was an enjoyable experience. I usually don't fly other airline except the major airlines, but I thought that I would take a chance and so glad I did. Wish i could give 0 stars. I purchased my tickets for a 6am flight which then gets delayed to 7:24am flight 1733 i believe which i was a bit upset about but managed to work it out. But day of my flight it grts delayed yet agaib for 9:24am. Which now i am upset about. Whole point of taking a earlier flight is to get to my destination early. Now ny entire day is ruined and i have to cancel all my reservations and plans. Just sucks because i read the reviews. But i will be sure to let EVERYONE i know to NOT fly with them. Ridiculous !!!! This airline is awful! My trip was paid in full via Orbitz, but when I checked in, they said we had to pay $58 per seat for the first flight and couldn't give us a price for the second flight. The clerk said, "That's how we make all our money; the seats!" So wtf did I already pay for? Not to mention $45 per carry on, $3 for soda, the plane was an hour late and the baggage was loaded onto to the wrong conveyor belt and had to be moved. I never post anything, but I've also never been treated like Frontier is treating me right now. I would strongly recommend going with a different airline. I had a flight booked to depart in March which was canceled due to COVID-19. Requested a refund and was told they can't do that and that all I can get is a travel credit. I wish I had known that the DOT mandated a refund for cancelled travel at that time. Instead, I was given a travel credit and then found out it was only good for 90 days. June comes (90 days later) and Frontier is still not flying to a suitable destination. I was told by customer service to use the credit and just book a flight to anywhere. What? Seriously? Just go anywhere? First, you literally can't just go anywhere right now. Borders are closed. Flights are limited. Etc. Second, flying "anywhere" proved that it would cost more than my original flight meaning I would have to pay more just to fly "anywhere"...and that "anywhere" would have just been "somewhere" that I don't really want to go. Crazy. Book a flight just to book a flight, oh and pay extra. I was unable to book a flight by the 90 day expiration date. I called to discuss options and they told me there are no options. No refund. No travel credit extension. Nothing. You need to know that the DOT is mandating airlines refund money to customers from flight cancelations due to Covid. Don't take no for an answer. I am now forced to take legal action, making the Attorney General aware of this "no refund" practice they are trying to get away with. Very disappointing. read more

Cancelled entire flight with little explanation one month before trip. Spent 6 hours on the phone talking to outsourced customer service that would not go off script and were very resistant to offer an acceptable alternative. Obviously too late to find a reasonably priced fare with another airline, already flying on a voucher because this is the SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED and all they could offer to right the wrong was more vouchers.
