bottom line: I recommend people to NOT get 5G or 7G i have been paying for 5G service since it was started in my area and initially it was great. over the last month or so i have not been seeing higher than 3G. normally around 2500. had a tech come out and determine that the problem was in the backend (frontier gateway or beyond). The tech stated he had to create an internal ticket and so the ticket system closed the ticket. I am now going through many people trying to get support from someone that knows more than "reboot your router". I am thinking of downgrading to 2G since they seem to know how to support that speed. I have fiberoptic service through Frontier. I upgraded the service to 2 gigs on 11/11/24 and was provided a eero 6 router. However, I learned that the eero 6 was not physically capable of reaching two gigs through a wired connection as one port on the device is limited to 1 gig. I contacted Frontier to request a router that is capable of the 2 gigs, which they eventually agreed to. Frontier tried to sell me 5 gigs even though I couldn't receive/use the 2 gigs I was paying for. I told them that I would be downgrading my service to 1 gig if the equipment wasn't provide. I also spoke with their technician that confirmed the equipment would not provide 2 gigs using ethernet cables. Knowing this, I'm not sure how they believe the router would deliver 2 gigs wirelessly as that isn't the case even if you hold the router in one hand and your phone/laptop in the other. I then requested a refund/credit for the time frame that I'd paid for the 2 gig service since I was limited to 1 gig by the equipment they provided. Frontier refused stating the equipment is capable of 2 gigs. It is limited to 1 gig wired and 1.6 gig wireless. read more

Althought their internet service is fairly reliable, it has failed three times in the last three months and the cable running to my house has had to be replaced. The last time it was replaced, it needs to be buried. I have been waiting FIVE WEEKS to have it buried. I have contacted their chat feature 4 times and an actual support person 2 times. They give me reference numbers that are still open and the cable will be buried "any moment". Frontier reps simply LIE about what is going to happen. After talking via chat the 4 times and told each time a ticket was pending, I was told by the live rep that there were no tickets pending. The live rep supposedly set up a ticket. When I called 3 days later, the live rep said there were no pending tickets. I have been told that they have attempted to bury the cable, but no one was home. That is correct BECAUSE they NEVER call you prior to arriving. They expect you to be home for weeks waiting for them to show up with no prior phone call. They just show up when they feel like it. read more

Would not recommend their internet and service and support. Its near to impossible to connect 2.4GHz to the EERO router, you need to use the guest setting or turn off the 5 and 6GHz router feature and turn it back on after pairing. Then it takes forever to pair. I will see if the devices stay connected over time. The support center is a sell center; they may or may not help with the issue, but they try to upgrade at every opportunity. I ask to not be sold to, but that request is ignored. Watch out for the one-month free offer on upgrades, Frontier may continue billing after you cancel the upgrade. They like autopay so it can be accomplished easily. You get different answers for solutions depending on the representative on the call. They cut my sprinkler lines when they laid the fiber cable, the crew was obviously not liking that I reported it. I needed to insist that they repair it, wanted to leave with the impression that they were not responsible for any damage. The holes that I repaired before I raised the issue, they would not address those to make sure they were repaired correctly. The Wi-Fi does seem to cover the whole home, we will see over time. read more

Frontier Communications charges my mother $59.99 per month for dial-up-level speeds, which prompted me to contact the FCC. Due to their intervention, Frontier's executive office contacted my mother and arranged a loyalty discount for 12 months. Later, a Frontier agent contacted my mother and suggested replacing her router. I informed my mother that the router would not address the underlying issue, which is the outdated legacy technology used for her internet. A Frontier technician later came out and replaced the router. Extensive testing over a period of a few days after the router replacement shows that internet speed is about the same, with no improvement. Overall, there has been no change in the quality of internet service. Although the loyalty discount provides temporary relief, it does not permanently adjust my mother's monthly billing or resolve the underlying issues. Living in a rural, underserved area, my mother is effectively locked into subpar internet service while paying a premium that meets or exceeds plans for superior fiber internet in urban areas. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Frontier's services for residents in similar areas. Satellite or other alternatives may provide more reliable connectivity. read more

If there were someway to put less than 1 star, I would. If you EVER try to disconnect your service from this company...do NOT call the "customer service" line. I was on the phone with this guy (clearly overseas) for 28 minutes...saying to him, over and over. "I just want to cancel my service. PLEASE, stop talking and cancel my service." He kept replying, "...but why...?" I told him many times, MANY times, "I don't have to give you a reason...just cancel my service." (we have no contract) He would not do it. HE WOULD NOT DO IT! Clearly, they are instructed NOT to cancel service. I finally had to call the number from a recent visit when they came out to check the physical wire connection---thank goodness, I had that number...she was very polite as I explained the above frustration and... I had to tell them a lie that I was selling the house and going across country on a motorcycle and would not need this service before she would finally end the service, this woman (American accent - just saying) was nice enough to cancel it. NOW, I am stuck with a $350.00 bill and no seeming way to get the QR code so that I can send their modem back to them. Do NOT start anything with this company. Do NOT. read more

DON'T EVER SIGN UP WITH FRONTIER INTERNET!!! I WAS finally ready to dump COX after almost 40 years, so I signed up online. I set the delivery for Monday morning. I got a text from Frontier telling me that the "contractor" would be reaching out to run the main line to my house so the installers could wire my house. Never got the call but I did get a text this past Wednesday telling me that I needed to reach out to the installation company. I called 8 times on Wednesday, 11 times on Friday, 9 times on Saturday and each time the phone would ring for about 6 minutes then I'd get the recorded message that all agents are busy so I should leave a message, which I won't do, My time is WAAAAAAAAAAAY too important to be waiting around for someone to maybe call me back. I've tried the "customer service" number and all I can get- IF the line gets answered is a call center in the underdeveloped, uneducated county of the Philippines. Of course, they barely speak English, so I had to wait almost 45 minutes on hold for a supervisor. She was the worst of all. She kept talking over me and telling me that they haven't done the preliminary work, so I need to reschedule my installation. Whenever I tried to say ANYTHING, she just talked over me. read more

I called today to cancel our service that we have had for years because of very poor service in our rural area. And I have faithfully paid $120 a month for their service. After two different phone calls and three people who weren't alot of help it was canceled. And they are charging me a $50 restocking fee for a router that is at least five years old and I'm sure will be disposed of the minute they receive it. Do not use Frontier. read more

Frontier business has charged me 93.03 and auto drafted it from my bank account which was an unauthorized action. All of my issues started in November when a door to door salesman offered me Frontier services. I proceeded to tell him about the awful experience I had with Frontier Communications the last time that I had service with them and I did not wish to enroll in services again. He proceeded to promise me that Frontier had changed and this time my experience would be better and he would ensure that everything went smoothly. He even shared his direct cell number. The equipment was delivered 2 days later and the serviceman never arrived to install it. 2 weeks later when I received a bill for services that were never provided I contacted them to pick up their equipment and they promised installation the first week in December and months free service (December and January). A technician came out and installed services and I received a bill. I immediately called their customer service line where she promised to remove all charges and guarantee the 2 months free service. The entire time I am receiving emails that say "sorry for the inconvenience we will inform you once your credits are approved." I have never received an email stating that my credits have been approved only an email stating there are pending credits for months now. I called in January and had to get very stern with the customer service representative to get her to close my account which she finally did and said that she had applied all credits for my services and I was done with Frontier. Then on February 3rd I received a bank notification that Frontier had drafted 93.03 from my account without authorization. When I called the customer service representative said that I had been charged because I had cancelled in the middle of the month of January and the autograft was still "on". She further said that cancelling my services does not automatically "turn off" auto draft services on the account. She now claims that autdraft is off but they cannot refund 93.03 because I cancelled in the middle of January. This has been a complete and total fraud. read more

This company does not adhere to the No Solicitation laws in the state of Texas. On numerous occasions, their reps will knock, rather forcefully, on resident's doors that are clearly marked "No Soliciting". I'll never use their services just based on these incidences. read more
