We recently just moved from the bay area down to oceanside and our current credit union does not have any branches in southern california. So we decided to check out Frontwave since they are a shared branch with our current cu and I was actually coming in to close out an auto loan with a cashiers check. I understand the pandemic and possibly being understaffed but that's not an excuse for poor customer service and rudeness. The young women who stopped us before reaching the tellers questioned us immediately without saying Hi how are you, how can we help or anything along those lines. We're both wearing masks and she's stepping back well over 6' from me as i'm trying to explain and she's acting like I Must be infected. For being a shared branch they did very little to help with any issues that came up. The teller was nice, but she was very little help and basically said yea Idk you need to call your cu. After calling, i'm on the phone for less than 5 min and i'm getting the stare down like i'm holding up a huge line. There were literally not even 5 customers in the bank. Bottom line, when choosing a bank. Choose the bank that wants to earn your business and values every customer equally. read more

I will never again purchase a car using a FrontWave Credit Union car loan again. In my opinion based on my experience my loan is being handled incompetently. I was issued monthly payment coupons. I actually made two coupon payments paying ahead of schedule in August making a September 27 payment On August 8 and a October 27 payment on August 20. Low and behold on November 4 I receive a late payment notice that my October 27 payment was passed due when in fact I paid it over two months early using their scheduled coupon. They have no excuse whatsoever for missing my early payment. I am very upset because I have perfect credit of 820. I will avoid this loan institution in the future. Terrible bank. I am writing this review for the banking institution itself, not this specific location necessarily. This location has to be terrible too because it is Frontwave CU. This review is for your benefit to save you from hours of frustration and money loss. I will be semi-brief here, as there are many, many reasons why this institution is the worst out of all banks. -Random charges to credit card for no reason (from the bank, not an outside fraudulent charge). -Late fees for fake charges -Call center to answer calls that does not have ability to answer questions, will give you the runaround. -discontinued our auto withdraw for no reason, then charged late charges because the auto draw they discontinued. -Trying to pay off our auto loan with them in full was a nightmare. -Online banking is terrible, their website is the worst. I have 5 bank accounts, and this one is just terrible in all aspects. Save yourself time, money and frustration, and bank with a legitimate institution, not this train-wreck of a "credit union". The closest bank that offers shared branching to our current home and we were very pleased with their service. Clean and large location with 5 tellers working and only two people in line meaning we were able to get in and out in less than 5 minutes. Very friendly service, got the job done quickly and with a smile, no questions asked. I've been with this Credit Union for about 7years now. Never have I ever been late on my loans and now I am paying off my car loan, due to an accident and insurance settlement is 500 short , I can't believe they won't settle and forgive the $500. You have to have GAP insurance for that to happen. Even declined a new car loan ? My FICA is 6.45. There must be a place that's a little friendlier. I am surely going to start looking. read more

I recently submitted a auto loan application and was approve. Loan specialist called me and told me I need to have a checking account with the credit union no problem. So I completed the application and then was told o was denied because I had something negative on Chex system but they couldn't see what was negative. They gave me a number to call and get my report. So I call got my report and there is nothing on my report that's negative. I called them back sent in the report and was told again I got denied but my report shows nothing negative. I was told again call Chex system, so I did that again spoke with the Chex system rep we went line item for line item nothing negative. I feel like they are not trying to help as I am confused. How can fix something but there is nothing to fix. So I would recommend stay away worse experience from a credit union. read more

They have excellent services, but I spent over 45 minutes on the phone today trying to get information about my account. I couldn't see my statements on the phone application for some reason. This company is absolutely garbage. I've been with them for 10 years and never had any issue with them until they changed their name... which is also garbage. There was an obvious hack in my account and the lady over the phone even recognized it as soon as I brought it to her attention. However, not once, not twice but 3 times I had to fill out the same form asking for irrelevant details about the situation until it was to the T, exactly how they wanted it filled out... so unless you like dealing with crappy customer service and bs hassles, I highly suggest Navy Fed over these guys. They at least have the common sense to refund your money after fraud alerts then investigate, not the other way around. These are people's livelyhood your messing with, not just money. read more

He must've been having a rough day but that's ok we all have them. Had to get this bank due to my service in the -USMC. Only bank available in boot camp, decided to stay with them because why not. I regret that choice every day. 7 years ago I went to get a small line of credit, and they told me they could only let me borrow $3000. Nothing lower, I told them I didn't want or need that much, and they told me that was my only option. They told me it was at a great rate(lies), I've been paying do much into that stupid account and still owe like $1000 over 7years later. My direct deposit is always later then anyone else's on payday, even tho we get payed by the same people. No branches in my area, and rude staff Everytime I call. This bank has been bleeding me dry for the better part of a decade. Hidden fees everywhere, they charge me to use my debit for purchases and at the atm, I'm switching banks Monday. read more
