I talked to Bryce over the phone and was impressed with his service and explanations so I thought I would take them up on the offer. Less than thirty days later, we were closing on a loan saving me about $550 per month with a lower rate and no PMI! I was very impressed as they came through I what was promised. Several pieces of documentation were required throughout the process but I always felt like Bryce was in control of the situation and had complete confidence in him. Getting a loan can be tough as I know from past experiences, but this was a pleasant surprise. I am already recommending family members and will send more friends their way. Give them a try!

Warning about Mortgage One…read more I want to share my recent experience so others don't go through the same thing. In July 2025, I started working with Mortgage One through loan officer Mark Butrus. On July 31, I gave my credit card information to his processor to pay for an appraisal. The appraisal was completed, and Mortgage One even told me they would cover the cost of the follow-up visit. A short time later, I decided to switch to Turbo Mortgage because their rates and fees were much better. After that, things took a very troubling turn. On August 18, I received a fraud alert from my credit card company: a $496.55 charge attempt to the City of Warren (Michigan electric company). I live in Georgia and have no ties to Warren, MI. The only people who had my card information were at Mortgage One. When I questioned Mark about this, he denied any involvement, but the timing and location are extremely suspicious. Using a customer's credit card information for unauthorized charges is fraud. I am considering filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau, CFPB, and law enforcement. I'm posting this to warn others: be very careful who you trust with your personal and financial information. My experience with Mortgage One has been extremely disappointing and concerning.

I had Rik look over my Closing Disclosure for a refinance that I signed with a notary the day before. Not only did Rik let me know I was seriously being ripped off, he offered to beat the rate and price that nobody else could match and to expedite the process immediately and close my loan within 2 weeks. I happen to be living in Northern California and he was in Southern California which made no difference whatsoever.   After completing my online application, I can tell you that Rik and his team worked around the clock to close my loan in 2 weeks just like he said. So many online companies have you talking to a new person every time you need help, or have a question. I never spoke to anyone but Chris the entire time. He was well read into our unique situation and individual loan. There was never a question as to whether or not the person on the other end of the phone was going to forget what we just talked about. 2) Being available at odd hours and on short notice. Both my wife and I have busy schedules, and many times we weren't able to fill out paperwork until the evening or weekends. There are inherent questions that come when only filling out loan document once a decade, and Chris was always available and quick with a response via text, email, or a phone call. 3) We needed guidance, not a sales pitch based on what is going to make the lender the most money. Chris was very patient with us as we closely examined the multiple options he gave us. He offered his opinion on what was the best thing for us, when not necessarily the most lucrative for him. He was clear that he is more successful in his business when he gets referrals from happy clients. For him it was bad business to lock us into a loan that wasn't in our best interest. Our situation: Our experience was as both a seller, and a buyer. This complicated things a bit in that we needed the escrows for both the home we were selling, and the home we were buying to close concurrently. Without boring you with the details, the proverbial ball was dropped by one of the many parties involved. After all was said and done, we were looking at having to leave the home we were in, and not having a solid timeline for getting into the home we were buying. Chris made a huge personal sacrifice for us. He knew my family of five would have to move into a hotel, and we would have to get a storage unit for only a few days. Because of what he did, we were able to get access to the home we were buying on time, and no days were lost between sales.
