We've been coming here for years, and the gelato is consistently good. My family loves the wide variety of flavors, the visual presentation of each, and the ability to sample before deciding. My daughter even asked hypothetically if we could try every flavor. While we've never tested that theory, I imagine the staff would probably comply, though they might not be too thrilled about it. My only critique is that I wish the staff seemed a little more excited to serve their customers. I know it can be challenging for business owners, especially these days, to inspire and motivate employees, but I still think it can be done. read more

Even on a cold windy day this place absolutely hit the spot. Got the medium size cup which allows for two flavors got peach and vanilla and both were so delicious. Creamy, full of flavor just everything you would want from a gelato shop. They had so many flavors to try I'll be back to try more for sure. Me and my husband love getting gelato at least once a week. They have so many incredible flavors and so many options to choose from including some "No Sugar Added" items. It's really a one stop shop if you like convenience. They have everything from Gelato, Sorbet, Coffees, Lattes, Hot Chocolate, Espresso, some bubbly drinks and even cakes. The flavors are so yummy that me and my husband plan lunch dates every week just to come back and try something new. The morning staff is always so bubbly and nice and we enjoy our weekly visits. First time at Frost Gelato and it was exceptional. Loved that there were natural colors and no artificial dyes in the Gelato. We tastee a few samples before deciding. The pistachio flavored one is my favorite all-around, and it tasted great, but I went for the more fruity and refreshing flavors: Strawberry Champagne and Bellini was a great duo. My BIL hooked us up with mini cones that aren't normally offered. Frost Gelato is a great treat and has a nice quaint ambiance that let's you enjoy the weather from inside. It's been awhile since we've been here - probably close to 2 yrs. Just like any business the prices have increased to reflect the increases in ingredients, labor & rent. The gelato is still delicious and nutritionally better but it is nearing $2 more than a similar size scoop of ice cream. The other thing missing are the pirouline cookies that used to be that used to be included. It started with a whole cookie, then 1/2, now gone. I found myself craving ice cream after lunch here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We just had lunch at the sawmill market and I asked my friend, Where can we get some awesome ice cream? My friend says she knew a place. So without telling me where it is, not that I know anyway, we drove about a couple miles or so, we ended up here at Frost Gelato. My expectations for ice cream are quite low, since most places if not, I'll have straight chocolate ice cream without any additional toppings. Just pure hundred percent chocolate ice cream. Upon arrival, the store was empty. There was one lady that already had checked out. I was leaving the store when we came in. So I did like the ambience since it was quiet on a Wednesday afternoon around 2 PM. It was quite nice to be able to have ice cream in the middle of the day in the middle of the work week. Then again I was on vacation anyway. Do you overall experience talk about 15 minutes or so since I knew exactly what I wanted. The prices here were more less on par with what I've known for ice cream over the years. It seem to be tracking upward because of the 2020 COVID-19 inspired inflation. In the end, I decide to take a court home with me back to the hotel of here 100% chocolate ice cream. 25 It was pure magic for sure. I ended up paying for my friend who got a cup of something. I forgot what it was. It was a nice treat at the end of 6 mile run before I had to do a 50 mile run in another state three days after this visit. I guess ice cream helps with marathon training. Maybe. The overall experience here at Frost Gelato ice cream shop in Albuquerque, New Mexico was great and casual at the same time. I enjoyed the fact that they have multiple flavors of ice cream in the display freezers. I always liked handmade pints versus pre-packed pints where they just grab it from the nearby freezer. Freshly scooped pints are awesome versus pre packed. That's just me though, but I prefer hand scooped. The service here was definitely friendly and I think they enjoyed having us there, especially on a Wednesday afternoon at 2 PM. There was a couple of tables here, but we didn't stay since my friend had other obligations that day and we had to head back. ice cream shop was clean and very meticulously scrub down pretty much. As far as parking goes, they have limited spaces for anybody and everybody who wishes to come here for a treat. If this parking lot is filled up, there is always street parking nearby, wherever it's available. If you like me, though, I am with my friend in her private vehicle, so as bad is to get local friends who are running to pick you up and drop you off. If you're not that lucky or fortunate, best bet is to have a car of your own, rent a car, or even better contact an Uber or a Lyft. They can help you get to where you want to go in a heartbeat. With that said, I had a wonderful time here, even though it was short and sweet, literally in a ice cream shop. Not sure if they have Wi-Fi here, but you don't really need to have it anyway. If you're here in the Albuquerque area, I'm envious because you have the ice cream everybody's raving about. Ice cream was delicious and definitely enjoyed it immensely. The court was so big that I had to split it in two sittings. It was that rich and ginormous at the same time. So so good, I would need to come back here and get some more if future travels permit for me to do so. Frost breaks the cardinal rule by heaping their gelato into mounds - a clear indicator to buyers that Frost uses artificial flavors. I don't see other gelato options in ABQ, though, so if you care less about quality than a sugar fix, this place is for you. I just which they had a lot more indoor seating! I hate going from their nice indoor environment to a cold slightly dirty environment outside! My husband, our little girl dog and I came by here around 5:30 pm to meet a friend while we were visiting Albuquerque. She had suggested this place thinking that it would be nice to sit outside with our dogs while we chat. We ended up ordering: Medio (medium size), $5.75 prior to tax- My husband opted to get the limencello. Although with any of their size cups, you can actually pick 2 flavors. My husband usually doesn't take advantage of these things and so just opted for one flavor. I thought this flavor was okay and had quite a bit of lemon flavoring (lemon isn't my favorite flavor) that you could taste but I think I would have picked something else. But my husband liked it and that is all that matters. Milk Shake (grande size), $6.75 prior to tax- Initially these milk shakes come with coffee but because I don't like coffee, the employee who helped us said he could just make me a milk shake without it. I ended up picking honey lavender flavored gelato to have my milk shake made with and I really liked it. But I think the size was a bit too big for me and would probably getting the small size if I was to order this again. ----------------------- (Total= $13.49 after tax) Service was so friendly by the male employee who helped us on the day we visited (back in March). He greeted me when I walked in while my husband was outside with our dog. And then I told him I was just here to figure out what I wanted and that my husband will be coming in to pick what he wants and will pay for everything while I am outside with our dog. I liked how friendly he was and he just seemed to have a great attitude, which is whom you would want to provide customer service to. But the female employee working out front that day was not friendly or helpful at all. She seemed rather irritated and annoyed so I stayed away from her. One of my favorite places to go in Uptown. I had the Blackberry Cabernet and Lemon Sorbet which were both delicious. The gelato ingredients are imported from Italy and made fresh daily. My sister had the sugar-free chocolate gelato and she said it was good. Our server Donovan was great! He was friendly and helpful and brought us a cup of water without us asking for it. The ambiance is quint. There are only a couple of tables so it's ideal to sit outside and eat which is not a problem because there's plenty of places to sit outside in ABQ Uptown. Note, reuse the spoons with the samples! The names definitely match the flavors. We got the peanut butter and coconut and shared the medium size. This size was just right for two people (unless you want your very own). They offer water cups for those who get extra thirsty after gelato like me. Came here on a Sunday evening around 8:30PM, line was SUPER long! Went by quickly though. I wanted to try four flavors (s'mores, peanut butter crunch, mango, pineapple) but was told I could only try two, but one of the flavors I asked for was already handed to me when I was told I could only try two. So I was given three (tried all except mango). I really liked the peanut butter crunch, as the s'mores and pineapple flavors were a bit light. I was tempted to just get mango as well, but the cups were pretty big and I didn't want to eat THAT much gelato so just went with a small. I liked the peanut butter crunch, was smooth but it melted really quickly. Flavor was good, not too sweet, very peanut-buttery. Pretty expensive though. Has a bit of indoor seating and some outdoor seating, although it's in a plaza so if there's nowhere to sit, can definitely walk around. Good spot to hang out! read more

My favorite gelato place of all time, and I have been to a great many across the U.S. and in Italy because I love Gelato. What makes their gelato stand out? I would say the smoothness of it. Every flavor is so silky smooth. They always have a multitude of flavors, which they change daily. My favorites-- pumpkin, green tea, and most recently roasted marshmallow. They display their gelatos beautifully, which makes them all the more inviting. I would highly recommend this place for a nice cold dessert on a hot sunny day. read more

This was so good I didn't even get a chance to capture a picture!!! I met a friend for a little girl talk. It was quite slow at 3pm on a Tuesday afternoon. Which was good because there was parking upfront. I was ready to be disappointed because I just came back from Italy where there is "true gelato." My only complaint is they didn't have tiramisu flavor at the time I went in. This would usually mean I would give 4/5 stars, however:: I got the crowd favorite "salted Carmel" and also a scoop of "pistachio" with a stracciatella espresso on the side. It was so good! The nut flavors, salt complexities, and smoothness is as just as good as if I was standing in Milan again!! The coffee was out of this world, I just would ask that they get soy or almond milk in the future so they are fully vegan friendly. That being said there are lactose free options here, but if you want anything other than a straight up shot of espresso then they only have vegetarian options (whole/skim milk). Nevertheless, the gelato was amazing (and less calories than 2 scoops of regular ice cream). The location was clean. The staff was patient with me trying different flavors. The bathroom was clean. Parking was easy. 10/10 just as good as the gelato in Italy! read more
