She made the most beautiful cake that was gender neutral on the outside and the inside was filled with colored M&Ms. We had a BBQ to announce our baby's gender with all of our friends and family and this cake was the center piece. I was so surprised at her patience, excellent communication, and professionalism. I contacted about 10 bakeries and seriously heard back from 2. Kristen contacted me immediately, so already I was thrilled. She was able to look at a design idea I had from Pinterest and let me know how much cake I needed, how much it would cost, and whether she was able to do it in the style I was hoping for. She set up dates for us to come cake test and reminded me beforehand that it was coming up. I so totally appreciated this because we were running around from one meeting to another and it was great to be reminded! We met with Kristen and were given several sample cupcakes to try. Some of them were from the preset list we gave her and some were ones that she thought we would like based off the suggestions we had given. The cupcakes were AMAZING! We actually decided on 3 different flavors, one for each tier, and we went with a flavor she suggested strawberry buttercream frosting with lemon cake. The cake choices were different but light, not too sugary, and simply divine! Kristen was so pleasant and easy to talk to. She knows her cake and she really works as an artist. She was telling us a story about how she went to a wedding as a guest but had done the cake. The couple had set the cake in the sun and she was so worried about the cake melting and flopping that she was fanning it and watching it the whole time. I really think that she is incredibly gifted and dedicated to making cakes. She also was able to deliver our cake on our wedding day and was the first one of our people to show up. She placed the cake right on the cake stand and dressed it up to make sure it all looked perfect before she left. We met with her a few months before our wedding for the yummiest tasting (we chose a few different cake and frosting combinations ahead of time) and truly enjoyed how creative and talented she was when the time came to brainstorm all of the lovely possibilities.
