Glace made our wedding cake and it was absolutely perfect! The first thing that made me love Glace was their buttercream. I am extremely picky about cake frosting. I almost always scrape it off when I have a piece of cake. I was so pleasantly surprised when we tasted our samples! Their buttercream is smooth and not overly sweet. We tried 8 different flavors of cake and filling and there wasn't a bad one in the bunch! It was actually difficult to narrow down our favorites. We ended up picking the Ultimate Chocolate and Orange Creamsicle. Both were a big hit with our guests and we had people telling us they wished for leftovers the next day! Daniella is so nice and helpful and just sweet to communicate with. That really makes a difference in making you feel like she'll care to make you the best cake possible. Beautiful cake, the design adapted enough of what I sent over while still making it unique. Chose the pistachio with pistachio cream. I think that's the most important thing: don't go off all the yelp reviews, there's likely no one else in Austin that can make a better cake. I'm so particular about the balance of sweetness and tasting real flavors and this didn't taste artificial or too sweet. It was perfect. It tasted like real pistachios, not like "pistachio". The cream was the perfect soft velvety texture, the fondant was so delicious, thin, and soft -- it reminded me of the kind I would eat as a child abroad, and the kids ate it like candy. It was delicious, but I do think it was slightly over baked... I'm talking like 5 minutes, so I do wish the texture was a little softer and moister (but it wasn't even close to being dry) and that it had at least one layer of berry or citrus compote or cream to cut through pistachio on pistachio. BUT the flavor was so spot on I think no one else but me would have ever noticed, and there's definitely no one in Austin that I think would have been able to make this better. Beautiful cake. I rarely write negative reviews. This review is about how I was treated and not about the cake. Apparently I am not worthy enough to taste the cake. I moved from another state to ATX recently. Even before moving to Austin, I heard about Glace Cake and became a fan on their social media pages. I literally contacted them multiple times only to be ignored. I sent follow up emails. I was once told that they were on family vacation, which I totally respect. I have been polite and kind in all of my correspondence with them kindly asking to have a semi naked chocolate and vanilla cake.... It has been since December 2020 that I am begging to put an order. My BD has passed, I thought OK they are famous and busy so let me put the order for my husband's birthday early on. They replied to me in a very belittling tone that the minimum order should be worth $150 although I have not mentioned ANYTHING about price in my request message. I replied back and said that's OK and what size cake will the $150 get me, and then I expressed how much I am excited to finally taste this cake. Unfortunately. I was totally IGNORED.
