A solid 5 stars for my first time coming here. 7/30/19 (11:30am) . First impressions was that they have a pretty big parking lot and there was only one car in front of me. I do agree with some reviews the wait is a bit long but the food is made fresh when you order so that's a plus. The lady taking our order is pretty nice and patient as this was my first time here . The food definitely makes up for the wait , 5/5 on the food , the prices are set at what I think is reasonable . Will I be back? Yes i think this will be my go to place for munchies or when I want a quick bite to eat. Decided to pay this place a visit a few days ago and just like my first visit , this place does not disappoint! The food always hits the spot and the workers are on point! I don't get why people complain about the 35 cent ATM fee ... it's 35 cents get over it lol. I HIGHLY recommend getting the m&m frosty candy mix! My daughter suggested coming here for an early lunch, so up Gateway I drove to find it. As I pulled up I fully expected to be served roachburgers with a side of mouse fries. "Worn" is a polite adjective for the exterior, and it's covered with tacky signs that infringe on a beefy range of copyrights, from the House of Mouse to the little blue mushroom-dwellers. I was warned that the tables would be scratched and tagged, but when we entered we found the inside to be nicer that the out, and the tables - or at least their tops - had been replaced. It's a greasy spoon for sure, and there was something charming about it, a relic from a more innocent age, when the FDA was way off in Washington and 'cooked in lard' was the only way to serve a steak. Frosty Queen is what it is, doesn't aspire to be more, and it doesn't apologize: it's a cheap little burger joint that accurately reflects the community around it. A little before 11am, we were the second group to come in, but the dining area was about half full when we left. I think it was staffed by only two people - one on the register, one on the food - and the service was not breaking any land speed records as it was, so I can see that they might get backed up during peak times, but that was not our experience. They have a pretty sizeable menu, serving combo meals of various burgers, chicken, tacos, and more. I ordered the San Joaquin burger (hello, pastrami) and the rest of my group noshed on chicken nuggets and fries. The lettuce, tomato, and onion on my burger were legitimately fresh, and the meats satisfied my hungry soul. The chicken was typical fast food chicken, which is to say not something I would eat, and the sauce choices are ketchup, ranch, and BBQ sauce, so if you're looking for sweet & sour or Frank's Red Hot or something, look elsewhere. The fries were not special, but fries don't need to be special to be edible. On the whole I enjoyed coming here, and it met nearly all my expectations: the burger was good, my daughter was happy, and against all odds there was not a roach in sight. read more

This was the worst customer service I ever received. I did a call in order, when I got there the cashier had my order wrong and the guy in the back was very upset and still wanted me to pay for something I did not order. when I was given my correct order the cashier tells me next time we will not change your order. I told the cashier I'm not paying for something I did not order and I know what I order and she said I took your order and that what you order, wish was wrong I told her and than she next time we wont change the order. Although the drive through line can be a wait, their food is always made to order! Customer service is well, some days better than others. I really recommend the Spicy Chicken sandwich here as well as the Banana Milkshake! Those are my favorite! Everything from before is still correct but considering that everything is made to order the wait time is justifiable. The daily specials are a good deal, the Saturday/Sunday is probably the best. I think they've updated the cash registers or something like that because you get an itemized receipt now which I like. read more

This is my go to spot for a good hamburger in Madera, the San Joaquin and fries always hits the spot. I order the combo for coworkers that were working late and they really liked it too. I've also had pastrami sandwich which was really good. Yeah the wait is a little longer than the other fast food places but that's probably because they're making your burger to order instead of patties sitting under a heat lamp. read more

Frosty Queen is a guilty pleasure for me. Really great chicken strips and fries. I also had a burger which was pretty great. All food is burning hot and fresh, so be prepared to wait. I usually come in the evening, so I'm not sure if this is different at earlier times. Their dessert menu also looks extensive, but I've yet to try anything. Everything is very fairly priced as well. This place may not win any Michelin stars, but it's pretty great for a drive thru joint. read more

The one star is simply for the fact that I love the boneless wings basket and zucchini fries. Other than that, there's not much to offer. The customer service is absolutely horrible and they make up random charges when they don't want to deal with you.. Last night I introduced my boyfriend to frosty queen for the first time. There's one down the street from where I work in Fresno and I've eaten there a few times. That location has just as good of food, but WAY better customer service. Last night, we got the boneless chicken wing basket and we're able to sub curly fries free of charge. The girl we encountered at the drive through was completely rude, rolling her eyes, and speaking sarcastically. Tonight, we ended up dealing with her again unfortunately and she told us we could not substitute curly fries for regular fries, then tried to tell us that she could do it but there would be an additional $1.50 charge, which doesn't make sense. We asked her if she could make an exception since we were just there the night before and had no issues, so she said she would talk to her Manager. My boyfriend watched her bullshit(sorry for the language) with another employee for 3 minutes and then came back to tell us no exceptions would be made. My suggestions for the owner would be to hire more young people friendly persons to work the counter and drive through window, like the other younger and MUCH friendlier one who looks like she's fresh out of high school, and to set specific rules for both locations to follow. Don't offer or charge extra for one thing at location "A" only to not carry/charge for it at location "B" read more

This isn't your chained fast food restaurant like a lot of the others in town. So let's start with the good. Food is fresh and made to order. That being said there is a wait whether you dine in or use the drive through, since they don't have the food sitting under the heat lamps. Staff have their good days and bad days but for the most part the girls working the registers are really cheerful and prompt. Weird that there is a tip jar at the drive through window, haven't seen that before. Now for the bad, the building is kinda old. Forget what restaurant this was before they made it into the burger joint it is now. The inside is a bit dated, but there is ample room to sit where you like. Restrooms looked kinda run down, but at least were clean. All in all it is a place you want to eat at if you want to eat somewhere other than the chains we have here. Like a lot of people we decided to try this place after leaving the movies. The lady at the counter was not able to answer many of our questions about the menu items, she didn't seem to care either. When she was able to answer to let us know that the chimichangas were like the ones that were bought in the freezer section and she gave us an example of a brand, all they did was deep fry them. Still wanting to try the place out and since the kids were excited about the ice cream we decided to order anyways. The hamburgers were ok, not a lot of flavor and over loaded on condiments. The fries were pretty good, they were hot and not too salty. One of the employees was taking her lunch break with some other people that didn't work there. She served herself and when she needed something she would go to the kitchen to go and get it as if she was in her own home. The problem with that was for the many trips she made back and forth she did not once wash her hands upon returning to the kitchen, it just seemed really unsanitary. As we sat down to eat, the chairs and table were wobbly, maybe something they may want to look into for safety reason As far as the appearance, I wasn't very concerned about it. Being a life long Madera resident I have learned that some of the best places in this town are the hole in the wall restaurants with the hand written menus and calculators instead of registers, so that was not a major factor for me. I really wish they would put something totally awesome next to the movies, I will not be going back to this place. The go to here is the San Joaquin, which is the quarter pound burger with pastrami. The fries are fresh and well seasoned and the Dr. Pepper with cherry flavor hit the spot (25 cents extra). Be aware that drive thru service is not the fastest and usually takes about 10 minutes. I am not considering the wait time in my review because im patient and the food was on point. read more

OK let me start here you want what you order and what you pay for. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and got a cheeseburger with pastrami on it. My wife was told its beef bacon but I have had pastrami from here in the past and it was pastrami. You know, when you make a mistake you need to own up to it and make it right. My wife went in to Frosty Queen tonight places our order and paid. 1st the messed up on our chili cheese fries and out the chili on the fries when she asked for it on the side. When she got home and we opened our cheeseburgers we order what we found was 3 jr cheeseburgers plain.
