This is honestly one of the cutest spots to chill and hang. I keep thinking this is where I'd sit for hours with friends. We usually get the bingsoo, but I tried their magnolia tea and loved it.
We came here for the bingsoo and were surprised by the variety of unique flavors, including mugwort and roasted dandelion. This is the first place we have been where you can customize the sweetness of the bingsoo (50%). You can ask for small bowls to share the big bowl of bingsoo. The atmosphere features a traditional Korean aesthetic, including 1 table where the party sits on the floor.
We had a hankering for bingsoo on a HOT summer day and found ourselves at Soricha. What a cozy and interesting place! When you walk in, there's a little stage for performances, and it also looks a little like a museum because there are pieces of classical Korean furniture scattered about. But regardless, the bingsoo was legit (and huge). We ordered the Korean Injeol-mi Bing-soo, shaved ice with corn flakes, sliced almonds, soybean powder and vanilla ice cream, topped with condensed milk and a small dollop of sweet red bean paste. And the bowl was enormous! Perfectly cold, sweet, powdery, and crunchy, just what we were looking for. This place has all kinds of teas and drinks, which we didn't try - but if you're looking for bingsoo, you can't do much better than Soricha!
ANNANDALE, Va. - The missus and I went for bing-soo. We could've brought a third or fourth person with us; it's a bit pricey ($26) but you get a lot of bing-soo. Nice bright, airy space; very helpful staff. Plenty of seating. The menu says the bing-soo takes 15 min, but ours was out in 7-8. Biiiig. Very pretty presentation. Tasty. The roasted dandelion bing-soo had a coffee-ish flavor. Half sweetness level was plenty sweet. We'll be back, for sure. Overalls very nice, 4.33-star experience.

This cafe stands out for their ambiance and menu selection. The ambiance is serene every time I visit. There is a tea theater inside, and wooden tables and chairs for seating. In the back there's a shop for some traditional tea sets and accessories. There is a QR on each table to order through mobile. Simple to use and useful for seeing what each drink looks like and their descriptions. Service is quick. They have many traditional Korean drink flavors here that I haven't seen in many cafes locally. The flavors of the drinks are good, and are often served in aesthetic cups. The bingsoo was good, but overpriced. There are equally yummy or yummier bingsoos in Annandale and Centreville for less. The main downside at this cafe is the pricing. It's definitely steep for a coffee shop. I'd recommend coming when friends visit town or special occasion, but not worth it coming regularly for tea in such a competitive location with many other options.
Absolutely wonderful!! Annandale's Soricha is one of the DMV's best and most unique dessert and tea cafes. They're best known for their bingsoo, or Korean shaved ice, which is perfectly fluffy and delightful, with a sweet, milky flavor that acts as a great canvas for all their toppings. You can't go wrong with of their bingsoo options, but they do run a little bit large and are meant for 2-3 people to share. If you're in the mood for something smaller, they do have a delightful selection of other desserts, chief among which is their rice paper waffle. This glorious confection is a super light, crispy waffle made entirely out of rice paper (which, as a side bonus, also means it's gluten-free). It's slightly chewy on the inside but generally incredibly crunchy and airy. It comes topped with a lovely rice-based syrup that tastes a bit savory -- almost malty -- and black sesame. You can also just get a scoop of their rich, creamy ice cream (instead of the shaved ice that it normally comes on top of), and it will be topped with a generous helping of red bean paste, injeolmi powder, sliced almonds, and corn flakes. The combination of flavors and textures levels up this humble little scoop to a full-scale dessert with sweet, savory, and nutty notes. Aside from their sweet treats, Soricha also has a bunch of fun drinks. They have a long menu of expertly brewed artisan teas, or you can also cool down with one of their refreshing fruit mixes. The omija berry refresher is particularly lovely, with a great balance of tart and sweet flavors that make it the perfect summertime drink. Beyond the food, the service is also super friendly and quick, and the cafe is gorgeously decorated with chill, relaxing ambient music. It's a delightful place to hang out with a friend to chat, finish some work, or do a bit of reading. I will note, however, that it is quite expensive -- the bingsoo is about $20, and the teas are a minimum of $7. It's so worth it every time, but it's definitely more of an occasional treat than an everyday indulgence.

I know it can be a mad dash to want to get your drinks and dessert quickly, but these types of drinks are meant to be sipped and savored. And it's worth the wait. It's filled with Korean Culture and there are tables like at a traditional tea house or regular seating! This is one of my favorites to visit and introduce others to!

It was a bit of expensive but large portion to share with all of us. The bingsoo was perfectly fluffy shaved ice with fresh toppings. After eating it was a while the flavor was too sour for us and we didn't taste much mango. Will come back to try other flavors.

We came here after dinner for something refreshing and ordered the black sesame bingsoo. Easily one of the best bingsoo I've had--the flavor was actually infused into the ice shavings instead of just being toppings on a bowl of plain ice. It also came with a scoop of ice cream and extra toppings, which made it even better. It is on the pricier side (about $37 with tax and tip), but since it was shareable among five people, it felt worth it. The interior is nicely decorated with thoughtful cultural touches, and bonus points for having a parking lot, which makes visiting a lot more convenient.
Cute and theatrical tea shop! The owner is an avid tea collector, and there are several certificates displayed on the wall. You can also buy teaware if you're interested -- there's an array of items to choose from! I tried the Iced Earl Grey Tea and the Iced Green Tea + Coffee Cube Latte, which was delicious. I'll definitely be back to try more drinks!

They also have an amazing collection of teas, which is a dream for any tea lover. It's great for sharing, but it does make it hard for groups to try different flavors since one bowl fills everyone up. I shared with my friends, though the flavor they chose wasn't quite for me. It tasted a bit powdery, which may just be how that flavor is meant to be, but I wasn't able to fully enjoy it. My friends thought it was okay and said they'd be open to coming back to try a different flavor next time. worth a visit, especially if you already know what you'd love to order from the menu.

Such a homey traditional tea house! It felt perfectly cultured for my need to feel I've traveled lol. The service was lovely - the server/host had the brightest sweetest smile he was the best. We ordered online as required...the menu here was extensive omg shockingly. I had no idea what to try so I went with a yummy frappe kind of drink which was super delicious. You can sit on the floor or at tables here and I can imagine really nice wellness events here. Great for business meetings, coworking environment, family. Go, enjoy!!! read more

Had seen these Bingsu ice cream treats and wanted to try it out. Overall it is a very good treat but I would go ahead and next time bring a few friends as they come in one size and my husband and I had to take more than half home! We got the Thai tea flavored bingsu and it was good! Not overly sweet (but can add the condensed milk to make it sweeter) and loved the crunch from the almonds and corn flakes! The gentleman who seated us was very kind and let us know that we ordered online but to let him know if we had any questions! Hr answered the ones we had and was very knowledgeable about all the products. It was busy on a Friday early evening and they don't have tons of tables especially ones for large groups. Lots of tables for 2-4 people. They also serve coffee and tea drinks. read more
One of the best places to get bingsoo in Nova!! I love coming to Soricha. The interior decor and vibes are great and it's just a great laid back place to go with friends! On this visit, we got the Thai tea bingsoo. Also one thing I wish I knew before: the serving size is HUGE. Bring 2-3 friends with you because even 2 people will have a hard time finishing it lol. IF you want teas and bingsoo, this is the place to go! their bingsoo are always so large and delicious, you can definitely tell its not icy taste and that all of the flavor are evenly distributed. The hot teas are always so refreshing, makes me relaxed and calm everytime I drink it. The vibe of the teashop is always so cozy, you can grab any open seat you want and just have a chat with your friends. My favorite seats are the wall seat where I just sit and chill. The workers are super quick too, all you have to do is just order through your phone and they'll bring the stuff out instantly Overall I would recommend read more

TL;DR: Bingsoo is expensive but huge and delicious Came here on a Sunday around 12:30PM, and we got a table before the afternoon rush of people came through. It was nice and quiet when we were there. OPERATION: ~You get seated by staff ~Scan the QR code ~Browse the menu ~Order and pay on your phone ~They bring the order out to you based on the table number associated with the QR code ~Eat, chat, then leave (you leave the dirty dishes at the table and they will clean it after) FOOD/DRINKS: ~Injeolmi Bingsoo (5/5): Injeolmi is roasted soybean powder and is an acquired taste. I, personally, love injeolmi. This bingsoo was HUGE. It comes with shaved ice (flavor of your choosing), with ice cream in the center (this vanilla ice cream was SO GOOD), and whatever toppings were described. We added rice cakes (tteok) and red bean. The shaved ice is so soft, pillowy, and flavorful. Couldn't stop eating ~Fizzy coffee (2/5): I asked, and they said that they did not have a plain black coffee/americano. So I decided to try this drink out. I can see why other people would like it, but it is not for me. But if you like seltzer/sparkling water and coffee and want to try those 2 things together, you might like this! I came here a couple years ago and had some other items that I can't remember specifics, but the two things I do remember were tasty were the injeolmi latte and the rice cake waffle. This cafe is so beautiful! A relaxing and unique experience. Walking in here does not feel like you are even in Annandale anymore. The menu is huge! They have a variety of tea, dessert, and bingsu. All of the menu items are uniquely and authentically Korean flavors. Service is extremely helpful and they helped explain to us how to properly drink their teas. The only thing is that this spot is pricey, so be prepared for that. read more

Very elegant chic café and dessert spot. You scan a QR code and order/purchase through it. The bingsu isn't your classic fruity ones-- it's more coffee/tea flavors, but it's a huge sharing portion and excellent presentation! You do have to pay extra for mochi and red bean though. I ended paying about $30 for a large bowl of bingsu with extra topping. However, it did feed 5 of us (two adults, three kids). Even though it's pricey, I really liked this place for the elegance and vibes! It's perfect if you're a coffee/tea drinker. read more

Soricha is hands down the best bingsu I've ever had. The injeolmi bingsu is especially amazing. It's not too sweet, which I really appreciate, and the flavor is perfectly balanced. They also give you a sweet milk to pour over the top, which makes it even better and lets you adjust the sweetness exactly how you like it. Every bite is soft, creamy, and just so satisfying. The vibes are always perfect. It's quiet, calm, and no one is yelling or being loud, which makes it such a great place to actually talk, read, or study. It feels peaceful every time I go. It's definitely a go-to spot for me and one of my absolute favorites. If you love bingsu, this place is a must. read more
Seeking a really yummy bingsoo, then this is the place. Their portions are HUGE, can definitely be shared by at least four people. Pricing is not cheap, but when you see the size of the bowl, you'll love it and come back. I don't live close, but I would drive out to have just this one bowl of bingsoo, that good! Decorations are simple and clean. Quiet place to just hangout and enjoy coffee and bingsoo. Ordering is via a QR code so not much interaction with service staff. read more
This place became my to go to for matcha, matcha mugwort! The place is so nice and you know they put so time in their interior to make it look and feel cozy. The service is always fast and direct. To make it easy if you want to takeout just order ahead online as this is also their way to go. The parking could be a little tricky as the shared parking lot isn't that big. You can park across the street tho. While the drinks prices are not bad, especially they get their ingredients overseas. read more
I love this place. It's such a great place for dates, friend date, and family gathering for Sunday morning, late night desserts, or brunch. It gets packed in here during meal time but it die downs. I love the events they have here. This place feels authentic back in time in Korea. I love getting their bingsoo which I remind definitely sharing among 4 people. I got the flower and root tea and it was light, sweet, and hint of floral hint for a rainy day. This is like my 5th time here! read more

The drinks are delicious, so aesthetically pleasing and presented in such a lovely way, and I love the ease with ordering directly from your table if you'd like to (though you don't have to). Update review Server was rude to ask to sit in a table of 2 when we are 3.. didn't want us to sit on table had 4 chairs. Lowering to 1 star never had this level disrespect like we weren't customers Lovely place with traditional decoration! Strawberry Macha Latte, Lychee Hibiscuss lemonade along crop waffle with vanilla ice cream. Only thing is be ready to scan QR code sign up to open menu, pay first at table.. read more
How come I just discovered this place? Many thanks to my fellow friend and Yelper Joyce for bringing me o this place. I absolutely loved it. Soricha Tea and Theater is such a hidden gem! The atmosphere is serene and beautifully designed, perfect for relaxing and enjoying high-quality tea. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and guide you through their amazing tea selection. Every sip feels like an experience. Highly recommend for tea lovers or anyone looking for a unique and calming spot! and hey also serve shaved ice with many different flavors and toppings, and it goes well with tea. read more
I came here ona Sunday afternoon, it was super busy. We got a table and ordered our food on the QR code. The drinks and bingsoo was very good. The Matcha Bingsoo tasted amazing, and the redbean smoothie is like drinking cold redbean soup. I never had it before and I would go back just for it. The place is really suitable for dates and hangout. Its expensive but worth the money. Overall, I'd comeback again and would recommend my friends to go as well. read more

the ice cream and mochi here is SO yummy and the crowaffle is interesting, the batter felt like it was more rice like than croissant like. next time i'd come back to try the bingsu which is a size for 4 people. everything is a little too sweet though, so i'd probably order the bingsu as less sweet when i get it next it gets super packed and is so loud though, and the one table i had was sticky and some ants on it. they were kind and brought us our order to our table and the second table we went to was clean! the decorations and area to sit are cute :) read more
I don't know if Soricha was running a special a few months ago but I swear so many DMV folks on my IG algorithm -- influencer strangers and friends alike -- were visiting and absolutely raving about how good this teahouse is so when I finally found myself back in Annandale I was desperate to see what the hype was about. My friend and I came for dessert on a Friday evening, and we had fortuitous timing so as to not have to wait at all as there was one table for 2 that had recently been flipped waiting for us. A larger group that was seated right before us was able to sit at a floor table on the little stage, on the condition that they agree to remove their shoes. This seems like actually a pretty cozy table to be seated at if you're ok with shoes-off and sitting on the floor. + Ambiance was really cozy in a way that I wasn't quite expecting? All the seating is at the front half of the teahouse and featured the aforementioned little stage area which had, the evening we visited, a projected video showing some cozy Animal Crossing vibes. There is a good DIN to the space of everyone chatting and enjoying themselves, and I saw a few babies and toddlers who were also enjoying the space with their families, as a testament to it not being too loud but not so quiet as to be intimidating to parents of young children. + I started with a injeolmi latte (which we debated if there was actually espresso in this latte or if it's more of a "latte" in that it's a tea drink with foamed milk, and I believe it's the latter but I'm still not sure, so if you are looking for a strong coffee flavor you may need to order the additional espresso shot or try a different beverage) and this was REALLY delicious. I actually had intended to save most of this for helping me out when I inevitably ate my bingsoo too fast and needed something warm but this was sooooo yummy, I highly highly recommend this to anyone but especially to fans of injeolmi. If you haven't had injeolmi before, it has a comforting nutty flavor from the soybean powder. + My friend and I split the hojicha bingsoo, which was the perfect balance of sweet and slightly bitter roasty tea flavor. Plus I absolutely loved the crunch corn flake and almond toppings, which were very generously and evenly distributed so my strategy of eating it didn't leave me with many crunch-less bites until the very center, which I really really appreciated. The vanilla ice cream center was also perfectly complementary to the bingsoo, idk this was kind of one of the best bingsoos I've ever had maybe?? + The back half of the shop is where you can admire and even purchase different beautiful tea sets. A great spot for some Korean desserts and tea. The seating space isn't too big so you might need to squeeze into a table or sit in an area where you would need to take your shoes off and sit on a platform. The bingsoo is huge and easily shared by several people and the tea selection is extensive! Got to hand it to this place, Soricha Tea and theater accommodated my group of six people one hour before it closed ( sorry for being there so late). We were indecisive on what to get for food, especially for their ice dessert, so I asked the waitress what's the most popular one, and it was the black sesame bingsoo. Of course we had to put red bean and white mochi for the extra toppings, and it definitely was a good dessert for our group. It came out pretty quick as well. My favorite thing about Soricha Tea is the interior space that is set up to create a peaceful/relaxing atmosphere for friends and family to come and enjoy bingsoo. I recommend coming during less busy hours because there are limited parking spaces. My girlfriend and I came after dinner to end the day with a nice sweet treat. We were impressed by the cozy environment as well as the variety of dessert/drink selections to order from. We saw students studying with their matcha, families sharing the generously portioned bingsoo, and friends catching up while enjoying the aesthetically pleasing sweet treats.
