I wish I could have used them on a bathroom remodel since they did our kitchen in 2014 which we still love. however their office person is not the nicest. their process is not the norm and there is no local showroom. Not much online showing before and after. way too many red flags. seeing all the negative reviews didn't help either. Sorry Frugal, but couldn't get past start to even go further. read more

Having signed on with this company on August 13 installation started on October 8th and the job is still not finished. We have paid for 95% of the cost and do not want to pay anymore money until the work is complete. Customer service is a nightmare. Frugal Kitchens did an outstanding job remodeling our kitchen. From start to finish they were on top of it. Our designer was excellen. They installed the kitchen and I was cooking again in a week. The actual cabinets were installed in just one day. The crew was pleasant and polite. Everyone arrived on time and I always knew if there was a change The guys were exceptionally neat. I hardly even had to clean up after them. They were very accommodating with little changes that I made. I love my new kitchen and so does the famil. I had to wait for my custom cabinets to be built which was not fun. Like anyone else, I wanted it done as soon as I decided to do it. That said, the quality of the cabinets is excellent and well worth the wait. After that Frugal exceed all expectations doing their work. in this situation I had never worked with Frugel before and had to learn to trust them. Their goal is to have a happy custOmer. You have to trust their system. After so many years they have it perfected and it works. read more

We were pleased with our remodel but there needs to be better communication. Finding out after the fact that our contract stated it would be an additional cost to have something fixed was a little disturbing, especially since they had to order and return to complete a job where enough material wasn't sent in the beginning. People really read your contracts. Now I must name Tyra(she was exceptional) Markeisha(really appreciate you responding when I had questions) Nancy(I hope you respond to emails and phone calls better) when you asked for payments we sent them immediately but when I reached out to you for explanations you never responded. Mike ( installed our cabinets was awesome) the young man that did the plumbing was great also and the electrician. I apologize for not remembering their names. Now, would we recommend Frugal Kitchens? Absolutely!! We love our remodel. read more

We started this project in August meeting first with Judith who designed our kitchen. Meeting all our expectations and more. Next came the contracts and setting up our account. Again everyone was helpful in walking us through this process. Last but not least the install team. Paul worked through so many scheduling issues that were beyond our control, making sure issues were addressed and done in a very timely manner. Johnny was our project manager and checked in with us everyday. Markesia in customer support checked in with us and made sure our questions and needs were addressed. We had a working kitchen in 5 days. They have come back to fix things that were on our punch list in a timely manner. All this to say they stand by there commitment and their work. read more

This is the absolute best company EVER! They did what they promised, when they promised. Everyone was professional and interested in making sure that our remodel went perfectly. Wonderful company! I would recommend them over any other. We had made the mistake of getting thermal foil cabinets four years ago and they went bad the first year so we were understandably shy about renovations. I'm so glad we decided to go ahead and trust Frugal. The kitchen is spectacular and was done is a very short time, complete and perfect. read more

I placed my deposit with Frugal at the end of October and my kitchen is finally finished at the beginning of July. Along the way many mistakes were made including not ordering my cabinets at all for the first six weeks. The day before demolition was scheduled to occur I was informed that the granite I had picked out was no longer available although they were supposed to hold it for me. I had to rush and come up with an alternative. When the cabinets arrived, one was completely missing, one was the wrong size, and one was not ordered to my specifications. When I relayed the mistake to the designer, she tried to tell me that's what I agreed to. Fortunately, I had saved the email indicating otherwise and they ordered a new cabinet for me. Some decorative panels were missing which I reported repeatedly from the beginning of my installation. Near the end of the project I was informed this design option was impossible to complete based on my kitchen layout. Somehow it was no longer an insurmountable design flaw when I pointed out that it was included in my contract originally and the panels were then ordered, nearly 7 months after my initial deposit was paid. Half of the hardware was also missing at the original installation. I have asked why they started the project with missing cabinets I was told there is no way for them to know whether all the cabinets are there until they get to my house. I guess I was lucky that the missing cabinets were not the ones that held my appliances. When I contacted this company six weeks after paying my deposit, I was offered a discount if I still wanted to go forward with the project. The discount ended up being $2500. Part of this money was used to purchase a replacement faucet and undercabinet lights that disappeared during the project. However, the crew did leave everything else as instructed (old cabinets, all appliances, and garbage disposal.) The quality of the cabinets themselves is adequate. Two of my drawers were falling apart before the punch list appointment. They were fixed but I do wonder how long it will last. There are some nicks and flaws in the trim but I am probably the only one who notices. I asked the designer to give me the same size drawers in one area of my kitchen. After there were installed I was very surprised to find that my spice racks no longer fit at all! After careful inspection, I realized it is because these drawers are one inch smaller and constructed very differently from my previous drawers, leaving me with a full 3 inches less of usable space on the inside. I didn't know that there could be such variation in drawers, and I think that's probably a useful piece of information for future customers. When I let Frugal know how different my new drawers were, their response was to tell me I am wrong, but I know how I used my kitchen before and the pieces did not fit back in the new kitchen. Ultimately, I did sign off on this so I did not ask for it to be changed, but it was disappointing that my designer did not help me retain the aspects of my kitchen that actually worked for me after I communicated that's what I wanted. Despite all these hiccups along the way, the worst part by far was the customer service. The communication was terrible when things went wrong. Instead of hearing "let's fix this" I heard "this never happens" as an excuse over and over again. When I asked questions my texts and emails were often ignored. I learned quickly that no news is bad news with Frugal. I had to repeatedly e-mail to try to get any kind of timeline as far as when the missing cabinets would be in. When I questioned why a cabinet was installed with an unfinished side, I was told by the owner that he was "about done with all this" and that nothing would make me happy. I replied that all it would take is a little communication to make me happy and I never heard from him again during the course of my project (over 3 months). From this interaction it appears that customer service attitude starts at the top. After my initial negative review, I was contacted by Nancy from Frugal. She let me know that I could expect to hear from their attorney. When I stated that I did not think I could be sued for this negative review, she told me they have done so before. Additionally, the owner Richard was listening in to the conversation although this was not disclosed to me at the beginning. The conversation ended with Richard in the background expressing his feelings on this matter using unprofessional language laden with expletives. This one conversation alone is enough to make me recommend against ever using Frugal. This review was initially posted at the wrong Frugal location so I am moving it to the Roswell location and deleting the original review. I have also edited for clarity after having some time to reflect on my latest conversation with Frugal. I have tried to simply state the facts of what happened to me with this company. read more

Doug really fixed all the little tweaks my kitchen needed to make me very happy. Thanks Doug. Unfortunately the designer has much to be desired. Anyone can cut and paste a cabinet into design program but it takes someone who really knows the product to design a great kitchen. read more

My husband and I decided to use this company despite the negative reviews we saw on YELP. Unfortunately, some of our greatest fears were realized. The customer service is greatly lacking in this organization. Don't be fooled. Certainly, if we had to do it all over again we would chose a more highly rated kitchen design company. My wife and I decided rather than move that we would update our 1980's home with new interior paint throughout, new floors and a new kitchen. And by new kitchen, we meant tear it out all the way to the subfloor and wall board, new cabinets, counter tops and appliances. We contracted with Frugal kitchens after meeting with John in their Roswell office and working with him on a layout. We were impressed with Frugal from the beginning to the end. Everything was handled expertly by Frugal, and when I say everything, I mean everything ... from the design by John, to keeping us informed as to the timetable by Sam, to the in-home confirmation of measurements, to the tear-out and cabinet install by Mike, to the granite selection and the expert and beautiful installation by deBeer Granite of Tyrone, Georgia, to the work by B&W Plumbing and the mechanical and electrical contractors, to the tile artistry by George, to the final walk-through by Richard, to final finishing touches by Jeff ... each contractor was timely, courteous, called to let us know when they were coming, cleaned up after themselves and treated us and our home as they would treat their family and home. I cannot say enough positive things about this company and their whole process including that Frugal needs to give lessons to other companies about quality control, customer care and subcontractor selection.
