I am so impressed with "Frugal Movers" in Greenfield, Ma. After living in my apt. for 12 years, I had accumulated a lot of items. Being on a tight budget and in poor health, I did a lot of phone calling to check prices on local moving companies and their services. It was shocking to see how truly expensive it was to move my belongings. Finally, the research paid off in so many ways. I met with Mike who is not only the owner but also one of the Frugal Movers. He was very professional and provided me with a quote that was nearly half that of other companies. His attitude was one of kindness and accommodation. I felt the stress about the move leave! It ended up that during the time I was scheduled to have my belongings transferred, I ended up spending a month in the hospital. All of the stress of moving fell onto the shoulders of my family. Even though we ended up changing our move date and I was not available, Mike worked with my family and followed through with the move even while facing daunting weather conditions and temperatures below zero. This review is overdue, although I've been recommending them to friends. These guys were awesome. Although this was my first time hiring movers, you couldn't convince me that anyone else was better. They were prompt. They were extraordinarily courteous the entire time. They did exactly everything I politely requested of them, and they were FAST. They just went in there and BAM my stuff got moved. They were even considerate of the cat. Everything was still in good shape, and they really knew their business (hooking up washer & dryer, taking the door off to get the machines in, etc). And **note to potential customers** who might be reading this, they have my mom to thank for informing me that movers are in the service industry and accept tips for a job well done. These guys are really great. I'ma single mom with very limited means, and I had just moved to a 2nd floor apartment Turners Falls with only my 14 year old daughter to help. As one might expect, we ended up with a couple of items stuck downstairs. After over 2 weeks of a REALLY heavy mattress stuck in the basement and a dresser on the front porch, I called Frugal movers and spoke with Mike. He was so helpful. They stopped at my apartment on the way to another job and got the 2 items upstairs in 10 minutes. I never write reviews, but these guys are the best. I called them to move a very heavy 60" vanity with a glued granite top, a very heavy 40" lateral filing cabinet and heavy, awkward electrical gravity chair. They had to navigate a narrow stairwell that turns 90 degrees at a landing with very little room to make the turn. I didn't think they would make it, but they persevered, worked smart and got all the items where they needed to go. We hired Frugal Movers to move our apartment and woodworking shop from Massachusetts to Vermont. They were fantastic. They didn't even blink when we complicated the move day-of by putting two-thirds of of our stuff into a storage unit located the opposite direction from our new place. Had a great sense of humor, even when carrying super-heavy workbenches up the basement stairs. And their cost was very reasonable. Mike and his coworker Steve were the best I could imagine movers to be!! They were so polite, careful, and timely! They moved my entire 4 room apt in less than an hour and a half..in a frigid snowstorm. Frugal Movers did a fantastic job of moving my stepmother from Worcester to Deerfield. The move included a long drive in bad weather. They had to move a delicate grandfather clock, many boxes of books, a huge desk, and many other items.
