First of all, they have a fabulous hot lunch bar that closes at 2 o'clock. I am always cognizant of when the clock will strike too because I always think if I wanna eat some food there I better get myself to Previte's Marketplace lickety split. The marketplace shares a building with a bakery that I will review separately. The marketplace and the bakery are separate businesses under separate ownership and management. There is a common area sort of like wide hallway in between the bakery and Previte's Marketplace with several tables at which patrons may sit and eat whatever they have purchased from either of these two businesses. As for Previte's Marketplace, there are typically lines of people waiting to get a fresh hot lunch that might include fresh, sliced turkey, meat, stuffing, mashed potatoes, delicious gravy, and more. over there right away. I'm focusing on this delicious Thanksgiving like spread that's available year-round because it's one of my absolute favorite things to eat at Previte's Marketplace. The marketplace has all different kinds of meat and other protein, including red meat, poultry, lamb,, pork, and veal and more. Proves marketplace has skilled butchers ready to cut the meat to your liking. Previte's Marketplace also has a multitude of prepared entrées ready for you to take home to serve to your family and friends or to bring to any social gathering. Such choices include cocktail, meatballs, and sauce, chicken, Parmesan, meat, and cheese, lasagna, and much more. They also have quiches and salads and more. Previte's Marketplace also has a full scale catering service that is available. Although I have not tried using their catering the service, I cannot imagine that the food would be any less wonderful at a catered affair than it is being carried out by oneself for lunch or dinner. By the way, there are a couple of tables just outside of the marketplace, but still inside the building in which Previte's Marketplace is housed. I frequently get my lunch there and of course, most often I get the turkey stuffing and mashed potato plate. By the way, they also make turkey stuffing and cranberry sauce submarine sandwiches. Absolutely delicious but very messy so get plenty of napkins! The only negative thing about this location is the actual location itself: it's on a very busy road with very limited parking, although there are some parking spots across the street. Speaking of the staff, in my experience they're helpful, professional and personable, without exception. This, the (original) Weymouth store is small but mighty! The Saturday before Thanksgiving was the last day of the outdoor market. It will be closed for a few weeks before the indoor market opens in the Wompatuck State Park Visitors' Center. The winter farmers market runs from January through March and then we look forward to the outdoor market reopening in April. Given our beloved 4-season climate here which is not always conducive to a year-round outdoor market, I feel lucky and pleased to have the indoor winter market solution. Our farmers market has gotten more well-known since I last reviewed it so it tends to be busier and more crowded. It can be annoying to wait in line for things but I am pleased it is thriving, and serving more people with quality produce and other products. Each year seems to bring more offerings of not just local food and food products but some lovely handmade crafts.

This is without a doubt one of the oddest Stop & Shop's I've ever been in. It's small - not as…read moresmall as the former S&S in Manomet, but smaller than most. But that makes it fairly easy to navigate - except that they've been renovating bit by bit, so I still can't find anything without staring at the ceiling signs. And the reno has widened some aisles, made other areas appear bigger & brighter while simultaneously shrinking the area contents - it's sorcery, I guess. Their parking lot is now shared with the apartments and retail opposite the store so there are fewer spaces but there are also fewer customers than there used to be in years past. I guess that's why I find myself checking every single sell-by date since I've brought home way too many stale cupcakes, squishy tomatoes and questionable deli purchases from this store. And I do stare at the ceiling signs while wandering through, because most of the employees roam the store acting as if the few customers are invisible. Which in itself is fine - except I'd love an acknowledgement from one employee when I'm trying to get someone's attention to ask one question. I know they're employees because they speak to each other, just not . . me? High marks for cleanliness in this store, just not 5 stars because it's very off-putting that the employees are so detached. That seems to be the norm though in other S&S's as well, so maybe it's just a thing they learn to do? And the deli lady isn't as mean as she used to be, so that's a plus too.

Price is comparable to Roche Brothers who have a nice meat dept. but the quality imo is a noticeable uptick. Like many have remarked once you break the ice and go there you probably will get all your meats there in the future. It was busy even during a weekday afternoon, but everything moves right along, Saw the deli and prepared food and If I lived over there, I would go in and try that stuff out as I am sure it's good. I haven't tried anything from the salad or hot bar yet, but it always looks really good. It gets pretty busy, so I'm guessing it's popular for a reason. I also buy my meat and fish there because everything always looks fresh and the quality has been great. The produce I've picked up has always been fresh too. Don't forget their garden section with a great selection for seasonal favorites. It's clean and very organized, so easy to find what you need.
