My car's door handle came off. I used Yelp's project feature to message a handful of auto body shops - was bummed to be left feeling like out of the 5 contacted, 3 of them seemed to only be willing to work on larger more expensive fixes. Alameda Auto Body asked when I could come in, so I just popped up. They had my door handle on within an hour of arriving. Shout out to Jerry who works the front desk - he was super knowledgeable of my issue and noted it would probably take about 30 mins which prevented me from being charged a minimum hour service fee. Please take pictures of your entire vehicle prior to getting a repair here, and inspect as much as possible afterwards. Also, I would suggest going through insurance as it felt they tried to take advantage since I was paying out of pocket. I had a good experience in the past, but this time around the quality of work and attention to detail was disappointing. I got my car fixed for dents and paint chips on the hood, fenders, and roof. They quoted me one price, then adjusted the quote with more accurate numbers and notified me about it which I liked. However, when I went to pick up my car, the bill had changed again to a higher price and I was told they had to remove and replace 2 emblems because it would be best to not reuse the old ones. When I walked out to inspect my car, the emblems they replaced were in a completely incorrect position. I was told I could leave my car there so they can fix the issue, so I did. I was under the impression that they would get new OEM emblems as they originally said using ones that were already glued to the car would not work, but they ended up using the same ones they removed, which ended up having some damage from the removal process. Not only this, but the placemat of the badges were still obviously incorrect. Also, if they reused these emblems, why could they have not used the original ones in the first place? On top of this, from having to redo the emblems, they left a scratch on the panel they just painted. I was told that I could leave my car again so they can "try again," not considering my time being wasted and having to pay for rides/UBER. I was also told that the placement of the emblems on my car were put back by "picture reference" and no measurements were done to ensure the correct placement. Even through picture reference, the placement was obviously incorrect. I unfortunately could not leave my car any longer so I brought it home, and after a quick wipe down from the dust, I could still see a few areas they said they addressed that I could still see primer or bare metal! I compared the quotes and final bill because the numbers still did not add up with what they fixed. I'm disappointed as I trusted this shop and the end result was not worth the time or price. I'm not even sure if I should go back to them to fix the issues when I have the time to do so because I don't believe they will do the job right the 3rd time around. My car got hit by Chevrolet Silverado on the driver side :( When I called my insurance to file a claim, they were able to give me a website that located the auto body shop that works well with them. If you have National General Insurance / Encompass / Allstate, this place definitely knows what they're doing! Before I found this location, I did call the first one near me and unfortunately that location didn't accept new clients until 2 weeks out... When I called this location, they immediately told me I can come in next day for an inspection & evaluation. I was really happy that they were able to do what they need to next day. My car was still somewhat drivable, so I didn't have to leave it at their location, but if your car is completely unsafe and not drivable, it's best to call them ahead of time if they have space to leave your car there. When I got to this location, the friendliest front desk gentleman helped me out, his name was Tian. He was super helpful and knowledgeable! He truly pays attention to details when it comes to the inspection of your damaged car. He helped me order all the parts that my car needed, and it came within 3 business days! Once the parts arrived, I was able to drop off my vehicle next morning. Tian and another gentleman, Marcus, helped me out during the drop off process; it was smooth and easy! They were kind enough to order me a Lyft back home, since I had no ride. One thing I love about this place is that, they send you a website to see the status of car being repaired! Never in my life I would experience an auto body shop using a system like this. This team is VERY responsive through e-mail communication; if I ever had any questions, they would answer in a reasonable amount of time. I love how this team truly cares about their customers and are passionate about what they do. That's the true value of an auto body shop. The feeling that you're part of their family and your vehicle are in good hands! I would totally highly come back to this location for any future repairs (hopefully not car accident ones). I took my car to Alameda Auto Body to repair the bumper and they gave it back to me in worse condition than when I dropped it off! As I picked up the car I noticed that they had cracked my rear tail light while fixing the bumper and there were all these new micro scratches and divets all over the sides of my car! They apologized, promising to replace the tail light and fix the major scratches but when it was time to pick up the car, they said they could not do anything about all the scratches. They offered no discount or credit, they just took the insurance money and ran, so unprofessional. I wish I had taken my car anywhere else. read more

My low rating is mainly due to the fact that after I picked up my 2004 ZHP I drove home to Petaluma from Alameda. the next day I drove it up to Santa Rosa where when driving in a parking lot a guy told me my car was making a weird sound when I drove by him. Long story short, all but one of my lug nuts were so loose I could unscrew by hand!! Someone forgot to tighten them and having driven highway speeds for well over an hour, I could have been seriously injured or even killed. The rest of the complaints are minor such as ordering the wrong bumper and corner lights. It looks good and the guys were really nice, but I can't get past the one severe error. read more

My car was vandalized about a week ago and the person pulled the plastic windshield seal off the right side of my car. I researched auto-body places in Alameda and decided to take my car to Alameda Auto Body to get an estimate for replacing the item damaged. I was told I needed to order the item from Oakland Honda and then take it back to Alameda Auto Body to install it. I went over to Oakland Honda and the items I needed were in stock and available to purchase $200 for big piece of plastic!. I ask how much it was to install there and they said $200 where Alameda Auto Body quoted me $40. I purchased the items I needed and took my car back to Alameda auto body! It only took them 45 mins to install and fix my car! Marcus was the mechanic I spoke to and he refused payment when I picked up my car. I was shocked and thanked him. After one visit, I am hooked on Alameda Auto Body and Servoces The staff is courteous, respectful and honest almost to a fault. As a result of me running my car over a curb, the front bumper hung loose. Proposals from a few autobody shops range from a new bumper to reattaching the loose bumper at a cost of over $100. Fortunately, I drove by Alameda Autobody while running an errand, and dropped in for an estimate without a prior appointment. Non, a young staff member there, offered to reattach the bumper on the spot and at no cost. I was running an errand and had to schedule an appointment the next day. The next morning, the car was fixed while I waited in their waiting room. Non firmly declined my offer to pay for the work. All throughout, he was friendly and respectful. DOS: 7/22/2019 - This review is a bit overdue! My car was parked right outside of my house while these 2 kids were playing on the streets on their hoverboard & hover buggy. My review is going to be a little different as I brought a piece of my motorcycle helmet to get painted. For the motorcycle riders out there, I recently purchased an AGV Corsa for the days that I want to ride hard. I also plan to make it my dedicated track helmet. The spoiler that comes attached on the back of the helmet is a clear plastic. I wanted to paint my helmet spoiler a matte black color so it could match my helmet. I brought it in and asked them for a matte black colorway. Pretty simple transaction! I ended up picking up the spoiler the following day and it looked great! However the matte black had more of a gloss on it than the helmet. I'm sure some of you guys would be okay with it but I wanted to try and make it match as if it was an OEM paint. So I contacted them (Hector helped me through the entire process and I can't stress how good he was! Give that dude a raise!) and they told me to simply come back with the spoiler and helmet so that they could try and match the helmet. I brought everything in and it took about 20 minutes FREE OF CHARGE. This time it came out perfect and I couldn't be happier.
