Apparently they weren't looking for repeat business though I have a 2010 vehicle. Their price was exorbitant. They exceeded dealer recommended price. They did throw in a car wash and a oil change but that didn't even come close to bringing the price down low enough to make me feel I would want go back again. read more

Tran is fantastic. His work goes far beyond standard body repair, and his prices for routine maintenance are lower than dealerships or private shops--while still using the genuine Toyota OEM parts I insist on. My second car, a 2012 Prius, was damaged by a truck a month ago, and Tran not only restored it perfectly but made the whole car look nearly new again! My daughter and spouse have used Transtar for body work and a week after my spouse used them, we had to have them look at my car to give me an estimate. One day, I was distracted as I got a distressing phone call 10 minutes before I was to leave the house, and without thinking, I backed out of the garage without straightening my steering wheel. It was an expensive mistake as I damaged the garage door sensor as well as damaging the tire rim which included replacing the side and front bumpers! We took my car in on Wednesday and Phat, the owner, couldn't guarantee it would be ready by Saturday, as we wanted to drive it to a destination wedding on Sunday. However, Phat called us and said it was ready on Friday afternoon! When we got my car back, it looked better than before as Phat had the car cleaned, vacuumed and polished, just like new! Originally, I was going to bring the car to a shop my family has been going to for years.... Sadly they weren't able to take my car in. So I ended up searching on yelp and I DO NOT regret taking my car here to Transtar! Beginning of the month my car had got hit by a drunk driver while it was parked. The driver side panel was messed up and it was just a sad case since the car is so new. Anyways , I called them the next day and they took my car right in! The Communication was great I was updated right away when it would be finished. My car came back to me looking like it did when I first purchased it! Now, March 2024 I brought my car in again because I backed up near a pole in front of my granddaughter's school and put a dent of my right rear side bumper. Searched Yelp for auto body repair shops to replace a broken bumper. Saw that Transtar had very highly rated reviews and messaged them for a quote. Ended up needing to bring the car in person but the owner quickly gave me a quote and timeline for pickup. He was friendly, kind, and professional. The automated text notifications were a nice touch! When I came in to pick up the car I noticed it was completely cleaned and vacuumed. He also cleaned up my foggy headlights. With the updated bumper, it looked like a brand new car! My car had some damage and I was thinking of selling it (and we're in the midst of post Covid completely on crack auto prices) so I thought I'd go to some collision centers and get quotes. I met the owner on a Saturday afternoon and showed him my car. He pointed out damage I've never seen before :-) and basically talked me out doing the work. His advice was to go get quotes on the current condition of the car, from dealerships, and then decide if the $2000 price tag to fix it it's worth it. An honest businessman who talks me out of doing work and gives me advice about how better to handle one of the most expensive assets I'll ever have someone I highly recommend. Wow! This is the best Auto shop I've ever been to. I had been struggling with a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT For the past 3 years. Been to 3 mechanics that wanted to fix the problem by replacing other parts and just had me going back to replace more parts that weren't it. I am so impressed with this shop and the work done on my car! I damaged my front bumper and underside of my car after driving over a bumper on the freeway. I specifically came here because i saw that they did auto body AND mechanical work - I didn't want to have to go to two different places for repairs. A low life broke my car window just to find out that my trunk was empty. I needed to put this behind me fast and safelite didn't have any next day availability. I turned to yelp and found this shop with helpful and most importantly friendly customer service. I have Geico insurance and they explained how to coordinate everything so that I just paid my deductible. They replaced my window very quickly, cleaned up the broken glass that fell inside the cabin and trunk, and even washed my car exterior. I highly recommend this business. read more

WOW!!! If you're reading this review, at-least read the end to see what really wowed me. My car has been making a very annoying sound when braking as well as rumbling pretty bad. I am about to drive to Joshua Tree for a road trip and needed to get my car serviced before going and of course I waited til last minute to handle this. Transtar was able to service my car today with last minute notice and finished within the same day. I called a few places the day before checking quotes from places all over Oakland and decided to go with Transtar. They gave me a really reasonably priced quote as well as taught me a bit about my car! Which I always appreciate. My car feels incredibly smooth after picking it up(even tested it on the freeway where my car always rattles really bad) and I feel secure to take a road trip. What reallyyyyyy blew me away was the fact that Transtar cleaned my car inside and out!!! They literally vacuumed the inside of my car, wiped everything down(even my cup holders). I was embarrassed about my car being dirty when dropping it off. In my defense there isn't a whole lot of car washes nearby haha. But also get this!!! They literally removed excess paint off of my bumper from all of the times I've scratched against the poles in my very tight parking spot!!! I know I sound like a disaster haha but wow I am blown away by the extra services they provided and their very quality work servicing my car. Super nice people work here. Needed to get my Highlander detailed before a last minute trip and these guys accommodated me without hesitation. And they did a marvelous job cleaning inside and out. (Not a full wax) but they also polished up my old headlight to match the new one. Above and beyond.
