Bad costumer service. It was my first time there with my family and we had to experience how the front desk workers talked in a rude way to their costumers. Initially we were in line to order and we were told to sit anywhere we liked and that they would take our orders at the table. We waited for more than 20 minutes and by the time they came to get our order, we were told that we couldn't seat where we were. There was no notice to let us know where to seat. Dishonest, upcharges. Check your receipt, check the menu for prices. I ordered over the phone - website does not have prices. Ordered 6 tacos and 1 flautas plate. Over $49 total. I questioned the cashier, who asked her co-worker to help explain the total. Together, they decided that the tacos were $4 each and the flautas plate as around $20. They were completely unsure. I didn't take the time to try to find the prices on their jumbo menu above the counter because of a line behind me. I've now seen the menu including the flautas plate for $11.99 and tacos for $1.99 - $2.75 each. At most, the total should've been $30. Complete rip off. I hope the owner of this place reads this review. I do not think the mid-20's young woman, nor the mid-40's woman are likely owners - they are doing their business a terrible disservice. I love this place but after today will not be going back I order some nachos and they gave me rotten avacado called them to let them know and called me a liar. So had to drive back and show them. While I was their they said they couldn't give my money back because their was no manager on site . My husband went in and wanted a quick dinner. He requested a carne asada burrito, lengua burrito and, a shrimp burrito. He also requested guacamole to be added to each one. For 3 burritos it cost $50.00!!! They charged me $3.00 for guacamole for each burrito. Oh yes, he also bought a Jarrito. 3 burritos should never cost that much. I went in to question the cost and they told me that the burritos were worth the cost. They aren't! There was no seasoning, and a lot of rice. There wasn't nearly as much guac as they intimated and the meat was also dry. I don't have another Mexican food place to compare it to but I have had other food better taste and price. read more

We just moved to AG and are only 8 minutes away from this place. It's a really clean, awesome customer service and pretty great food! We do not eat meat, so maybe the meat dishes are not as good as what we got, but the vegetarian burrito was spot on! The burrito had beans, rice, cheese, and fresh avocado. There is a great salsa bar with all the necessary taco fixings. There is a great person working the front who was kind and helpful. He even came by and asked how things were and if we needed anything else. For a little taco place in Grover/AG area where there are tons of Mexican places, I highly recommend this place for a quick lunch. Great little gem in this place right on Grand! read more

We've been coming to this place for several years, mostly take out. The staff is friendly. Great salsa bar with 5 or 6 salsas and accompaniments. Portions are good and food is better. They now have a spot at Gil's liquor store, I have really enjoyed the variety of food that they have! I love their Pollo tacos and their nachos are also really good! Their Tortas are wonderful also, the staff is very nice and you don't wait around for a long time to get your food. The bad reviews had kept me from trying this place for a long time, and boy am I glad I finally went! It's authentic Mexican food with fresh ingredients, a clean environment, and friendly staff. I have gone to almost every Mexican restaurant on the Central Coast, and now this one is on my list of favorites so far. I'm not sure whether the chips & salsa are complimentary or not, because we didn't get any brought to our table. I got confused because after we paid, the cashier girl asked if we wanted chips & salsa, I said yes, but we never got any so maybe we had to order them and pay? I loved my green enchiladas!!! The green sauce is delicious, but quite spicy! If the sauce had not been spicy, I wouldn't have liked so much cream on the enchiladas (it was a lot). The rice and beans were perfectly seasoned. I feel certain that everything from this dish was freshly made, and not from a can. I also had a "sope" with adobada meat, and it was pretty good. The meat was great, the toppings were fresh. However, I had such a hard time cutting through the bottom of the sope! Freshly made fried masa doesn't get hard no matter how crispy it's made. I'm going to try it again on a different occasion though, to see if they're always like that or it was an off-day for sopes. My fiancé ordered the Alambre combo, and he enjoyed it very much. He accompanied it with jalapeños from the salsa bar. He's been a chef for 8 years, so he's not always easily pleased with restaurant food, but it looks like we will be back again, and update the review accordingly. The young man cooking in the kitchen seems really friendly; not sure if he's the one that sometimes answers the phone, but he has good customer service, and cooking skills. read more

Another feeble attempt at searching for the Golden Child of tacos on the central coast. Was it edible....that's questionable. Would I return..... I think not. I'm huge on customer service and from the moment my wife and I walked in, it was practically non-existent. The girl who ran the counter didn't even give us a half smile. She just stood there with order pad in hand. Disgruntled and what I perceived to be very rude. No prices listed on menu boards. So, I had to grab a hand held menu to get pricing. Again, my perception, but if you don't have prices predominantly listed, I'm going to assume you can charge me whatever you feel like. I don't think it's good business practice but to each their own. It's evident I won't be returning. I asked for an horchata, regular size and she snapped, "we have small, medium, or large". Insert eye roll here. She was so rude. She actually rolled her eyes. I work way too hard to be treated like shit and then be served food that tastes like shit. Onto the food.... We ordered three soft taco combo with rice and beans for $9.50. Beans- bland, absolutely no flavor at all. How can you mess up beans? Really? This is a Mexican food staple. Served warm on the colder side Rice- semi-ok considering it wasn't warm. It was made with canned veggies: Lima beans, green beans, etc. Carnitas taco- stale old carnitas. Enough said Carne asada taco- same as above Cabeza taco- same as above Get the point? Absolutely disgusting. You get a basket of tortilla chips with your order. Those were stale too and super hard. They are stored in what looks like a popcorn machine with the heat lamp on top. The salsa bar needed refreshing. They have this cabbage looking slaw with thick cut slices in what tasted like a Habanero sauce marinate. Authentic Mexican food that reminds me of food I have only had in Mexico. I recommend the tacos al pastor that are made with marinated meat on a rotisserie, sliced thin and served with onions and homemade salsa (the tomatillo salsa is fabulous!) So good! read more
