I grabbed the single crab cake platter with two sides, and I'm still thinking about it. The crab cake itself? Hands down one of the best I've had--packed with generous, tender chunks of lump crab meat, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right. They include a cup of their house-made Boss Sauce, which is tasty, but honestly, the crab cake is so flavorful it doesn't need dressing up. For sides, I went with the creamy cole slaw (excellent!) and the potato salad, which was decent but nothing to write home about. Still, the portions were hearty and served in a sturdy take-out tray, perfect for their grab-and-go setup. Bonus points for the friendly staff--the server took time to walk me through the menu and help me settle on my choices. Food was expensive for what it is. Clam chowder taste like bland can processed. BLT was wildly underwhelming and at $20 very disappointing. Crab cakes were good but had an awful lot of shells. Potato salad was the best thing. Overall a waste of money. Won't be back. read more

The workers are nice and while we were deciding what to order I appreciate that they asked us how many crab cakes we planned to get so they can get it started and cut down on the wait time! You order from a kiosk in the front and can either wait in the small space they have (no seats) or your car and they'll bring it out to you. I would definitely come back! Crab cakes sandwich - 4.5/5 best crab cake I ever had! The meat is so soft, moist and every bite is flavorful and thick. The sauce it comes with is really great too. I recommend with the sandwich to help balance the flavors. It's mostly soft and clean but I think we only had 2 small small pieces of shell which we'll just take as a sign it's very fresh :) Potato salad - 1.5/5 not to my taste. A little bland and the seasoning I do taste I'm not a huge fan of Shrimp pasta salad - 1.75/5 once again not to my taste and bland but better than the potato salad. It was my first time in Fairfax, VA, and I couldn't pass up the chance to try some East Coast crab cakes. A friend who recently visited recommended this place, although it's worth noting there are no seating spots; however, I opted to take my order back to my hotel room. I would see this place pop up every time when I searched "food" in this area but didn't know where it was located. I finally took a chance to locate it and give it a try because the pictures looked so good. Plus, I gave into the 5-star pressure from Yelp lol I ordered a crab cake dinner and a crab cake sandwich with some of their sides. For the sides, they were ok, and I feel like eventually they should add in one or two more to give more variety. Now, as for the crab cakes... Yes. They did not disappoint at all!! After reading the many positive reviews for this take out spot I decided to give it a try. Hubby and I purchased the Goliath Crab Cake (8 oz each) platter with 2 sides (potato salad and hush puppies). Pros: The 2 young ladies who were working that night were very friendly and answered all my questions about the menu, even offering to show me what the pretzel crab looked like as they were packaging and order for one while I was there. the crab cakes were phenomenal. All lump back crab meat with no filler and just enough of a binder to hold the crab cake together just like the ones Maryland are famous for. I ate half of a crab cake one day and finished the other half the next day and it was enough to leave me satisfied. The potato salad was pretty tasty as well. Cons: No seating, self-order from a computer on the counter. The hush puppies were lacking in texture. I am used to fresh fried corn meal hush puppies and these were not fried nor did they have the southern fried corn taste. I ordered a Carrot Cake cupcake and was told to leave it out on the counter for about 15 mins to finished thawing. Even after warming it up in the microwave for a few seconds on reduced power, it was super dry. I was expecting a carrot cake and unfortunately did not see any carrots in the cake. There was a few notes of spice in the cupcake but again, nothing even close to Carrot Cake flavor. I have to add that although it lacked in the flavor dept, it was pretty, however I will not buy any dessert from there again. Conclusion: I will order from them again the next time I'm in the mood for a crab cake and do not feel like cooking one myself. Yelped local places to get lunch while getting my car serviced and Jumbo Lump showed up with good reviews. First off, it's not an eat-in restaurant, but that's the only downside, and the food is worth looking for a place to go sit and eat. You order and pay at a tablet set up for that purpose, pretty common now in areas that mandate a high minimum wage. Food was prepared quickly (crab pretzel takes 10 minutes to prepare and bake, but well worth those extra minutes). The crab pretzel was perfect. The dough, the saucy crab meat with baked on cheese, a generous serving too.... all to perfection! The crab cake sandwich, also close to perfection, mostly held itself together during consumption (good food always seems messy to eat!). A brioche roll might've made everything hold together better until finished? The crab cake was very meaty, with little filler, lightly seasoned and it comes with a great sauce to add as much additional flavor as you like. The shrimp pasta salad was also pretty good. Seemed a bit bland to me at first bite because I was expecting a vinegar based pasta salad. Finished it all, so I guess I got over my initial impression. Highly recommend!! read more
