    Burger, no cheese with fries
    Susan H.

We had intended to try another restaurant that was in the area but that didn't work out. So, we drove down Sudley Road to see if anything there caught our eye. That's how we came across Juke Box Diner. This diner has been around for quite some time. That told us that they still get customers coming in. We were here around 5 p.m. on a Saturday. When we entered, we noticed that the place was kept clean. Also, there were four booths that were occupied, with plenty of empty ones. No one works the host stand. It appears that servers are expected to greet and seat customers. To let them know customers are waiting, a buzzer (of sorts) goes off. Our server then came over and led us to a booth. We looked over the menu. I noticed that they serve breakfast items all day. Thus, I opted for a "create your own omelet". I chose to add American cheese, tomatoes, and bacon to mine. To drink, I had sweet iced tea. After taking my order, the server came back to ask me if I wanted hash browns or the cubed (not sure what they are called) potatoes. I chose the hash browns. She also asked if I wanted bread or an English muffin. I chose the English Muffin. My husband ordered a Fanta. To eat, he chose the "plain Jane Burger" with fries. Service from the kitchen was very slow. The other customers had left. We noticed that they got some takeout orders. When a worker came out of the kitchen, my husband asked where our food was. They said it was coming very soon. As for the food, my husband looked at my omelet and said he didn't think it was made properly. Still, it was okay, if not perfectly made. The hash browns were on the dry side. The English muffin was okay (not a "Thomas" one). As for my husband's meal, the burger was a bit overcooked, and the toppings were disappointing except for the pickle slices. Would we come back? Only if we're in the area for another reason. In other words, we won't go out of our way to eat here.

First time going to Jukebox Diner and had a great experience. Our waiter, Rauof, was amazing. He was entertaining and amazed us by how he was able to take our order for nine people, not write it down and got it all right. The food was good! We went after church so everyone was really hungry. Ordered a variety of things, waffles, savory crepes, Mediterranean dish, sandwich. Everyone was happy with their food. Great experience

Chicken pieces from the Annandale location

I visited Juke Box Diner in Manassas not realizing I tried it in Annandale, VA until it was too late. While I was ordering the same fried chicken sandwich, I asked the waiter whether it was a whole cutlet and shared my last experience with chicken fingers made to look like a whole chicken cutlet at a retro type diner? He assured me it was a whole chicken cutlet. When I realized it was the same diner, after talking to another waiter, he offered to change my order to a grill chicken instead of the fried sandwich. Although it was still chicken fingers made to look like a patty, it was better than the fried chicken I ordered at the Annandale location. The diner, service, and location were good. I just don't understand why the staff could not be honest when questioned about the chicken type.

We came here for some late night yumminess. Typical diner food with fantastic customer service. The Oreo milkshake was excellent as are the fries with gravy (disco fries). The menu is insane...whatever you had a taste for was on the menu. Clean establishment, clean restrooms. If we are in the area, we will definitely partake once more.

All of our eggs were cooked to perfection, the hash browns had the perfect crisp, and most notably - their fries?! That crunch and potato/batter ratio was chef's kiss! Note: you can sub the salad for fruits which we both did for our Benedicts, pic not shown I would love to give this place 5 stars, but unfortunately, the service was quite slow. I ran out of water so I tried to catch the eye of every single staff member there, raising my hand, and absolutely no one looked my way. Our server eventually brought food to the table next to us so I was able to flag her down. Other than that, the place was cute and I'd come again!

For example, yesterday, I had their Peter's Special, a sandwich made from 1/2 lb of pastrami and 1/2 lb of corned beef. Except that it's not "a" sandwich, but three, all on delicious rye bread, each with its own pickle, and a small helping of slaw, sauerkraut, and a major pile of salad. It was my lunch yesterday; the remaining two sandwiches are my lunch today and tomorrow. That's three meals for $30, which, to me, is a reasonable price. The problem was that the more they do to create the food, the less flavorful it is. For example, on another recent visit, I had their Country Style Omelet. Again, it was huge and contained everything that goes into a great omelet. Except, there wasn't a lot of flavor. And that seems to be the theme. I grabbed a slice of their 24-layer cake and, again, big but not much taste beyond sweetness. If you crave a lot of food, then this might be the spot for you. However, if you prefer less and more, smaller portions with better, more nuanced flavor, then maybe try one of the other nearby restaurants.

They are located minutes away from Fair Oaks Mall, with plenty of parking. They are open for breakfast until late for dine-in, carryout and delivery. When we walked in for breakfast, the place was busy, but we got seated right away. The tables had those mini jukebox machine. It's a 50's diner theme, except for staff's uniform. The staff was friendly but not as attentive especially once we had our food. Mocha Banana Cold Brew - Caramelized banana mix, chocolate, vanilla extract, milk, cold oat foam. Way too sweet for me! What was I thinking?! I ended up ordering a plain cold brew and mixed most of it to the drink to tame the sweetness. Other than this, it was a nice drink. Fried Pickle-Brined Chicken & Waffle - Breaded boneless chicken (halal), pecan waffle, cherry pepper honey, sausage gravy and syrup. Chicken was nice and tender. Chicken & Waffle is all about that combo taste of sweet and savory! Good dish! (Found in the Every Day Brunch section) Oaxaca (wah-haw-kah) - Oaxaca-black bean salsa, pepper jack, salsa roja, cilantro, guacamole, whole wheat toast. I like this dish very much. It was flavorful! The bright spot was our pleasant and knowledgeable waitress! I ordered the fish and chips - now I know that the Silver Diner is not a seafood restaurant, but the reality in my opinion is that fish and chips is an easy dish to make. I have enjoyed fish and chips at more restaurants than I can count, including some of the world's finest seafood on a recent trip to Iceland. My fish at the Silver Diner had the thickest and most dense breading that I have ever had! It was terrible to me. There was nothing about the breading that was light - it was way too thick, too glutinous, and the fish was substantially overcooked to the point of being dry. The fish and chips were served with a cup of chicken soup which was mediocre at best - under seasoned. We did start dinner with an appetizer of fried shrimp seasoned with a bit of Old Bay. It actually tasted very good but again the shrimp were very sadly overcooked which made them tough and chewy. So the food is definitely not for me, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with a discerning taste. I also consider the food here very expensive relative to some other nearby restaurants that provide some truly great food at a much better price point.
