I love this Fry's. They have great customer service. My main reason for this review is for the fireworks they carry. I honestly believe this is one of their best kept secrets. In my opinion, they have the best quality fireworks I've ever bought anywhere in Arizona. Make sure you purchase them from the displays inside the store. They offer a wide variety of great quality long lasting fireworks. Please see my videos below. Some of my favorites are the whimsical which is shaped like a unicorn, the boom box which is shaped like an 80s style boom box.the taco. Oh, and we can't forget about the disco turkey. All of the fireworks are less than $15. The Disco Turkey was only five dollars. I've been buying fireworks from Fry's for as long as they've been legal in Arizona and have never been disappointed. I usually NEVER leave a review, especially a negative one, for any place I visit throughout my shopping experiences. This extremely rude girl, white tone, shoulder length curly hair, with glasses and a green shirt, was being extremely hateful towards my and my beloved sister. It hurt me because I'm always so polite and gentle to everyone, why was I treated this way? The so called "worker", got upset over me politely asking to inflate this balloon that I needed for my little sister, it's her first birthday with the whole family together, I didnt want negativity. She swiped the balloon aggressively off the counter after my sister places it down, she stood scared and worried that she had done something wrong, whilst it was a simple and polite request. When she was done, she gave us a disgusting, hideous look, and threw the balloon towards us and left without apologizing or intending to be friendly with us. I really do feel this was racially profiled, I don't like that at all. My sister cried a little and said "why was she so mean" and I had to confort her after such a scary experience. This nasty experience occurred around 3:45pm today, something I will never want to experience again. This is a super solid Fry's Marketplace, especially compared to some of the other locations in the valley. It's on the newer side and much larger than the standard location. It feels clean, typically stocked and in addition has more than the standard grocery items and also home offerings such as some clothing, dishware and a seasonal section. Great option for grocery shopping and easy to find all the things I need! Especially berries, they always seem to be on sale! Their app will also have some great coupons, but they have to be clipped and connected with your phone number to work. I don't use a lot of their additional services such as pick up, drop off and what not or ring out with an employee. I typically do self check out, but they have added a few new feature a self check out with a belt for bigger grocery runs and great if you have a partner to bag for you while you scan. It definitely is a great one-stop shop, I usually stick with grocery items, but it's nice to know I can get more basics or house needs if needed. read more

Recently I was told that Fry's has limited the amount of a sale item that can be bought at the sale price in a single purchase. I am ok with that so that everyone can get the items they want too. On August 14, 2025 I went into a Fry's in Gilbert, AZ and purchased, 3-Diet Pepsi 6-pack of bottles at the sale price of $3.49 with the Digital Download Coupon. Today I went to the Fry's at 1935 N. Stapley Drive, Mesa, AZ and purchased 5-Diet Pepsi 6-packs of bottles at the full price of $6.99. I went to customer service and pointed out that I had downloaded the coupon. I was asked if I had used the Digital Coupon before. I said yes on Thursday the 14th of August. The Customer Service clerk said well you can't use it again. I said the ad says 5 times in 1 transaction. She said you can only use it Once. No where in the Weekly Ad or the Weekly Digital Coupon flyer, does it say that a customer can only use the Coupon once during the sale period or that it is only valid once. It states you can purchase 5 of the coupon items in one transaction Basically this means that the three I bought on Thursday were half price. While I paid twice as much for the five I bought on Saturday. On Saturday I went to Walmart to buy non-grocery items. Then I drove 4.5 miles to the Fry's Store to buy food items that included the Soda Pop. The Diet Pepsi products at Walmart are currently $5.29 per 6-pack of bottles. So why would I drive the extra miles to pay $1.70 more per pack. There is no limit at Walmart. read more

The layout of this store made me cuss out loud multiple times. As an Instacart shopper, I've shopped at MANY Fry's grocery stores & this one in particular is unlike the others in the worst way. Make sure to check your receipts!! I had chicken and steaks that I clipped the coupons for in the app. The steaks were supposed to be $5.77/lb And chicken was supposed to be $1.77/lb I noticed the steaks were ringing up $8.00/lb and the check out assistant gave me $19.00 credit.. I got home and realized both steaks came up wrong and chicken charged me $2.99/lb! My total was $54.76. It should have been $48.87. I'm home and have vacuum sealed everything up, so not worth the drive and hassle.. but watch carefully people! I'm going to be eagle eye from now on.. read more

I have lived in AZ for 19 years now and never had a bad experience with Frys....until today! I placed an order for pickup and then get a call while I'm on my way there so about 5 minutes before my pick up window, that my order can not be fulfilled for another hr and half. 09/26/2024. 5::00pm The pharmacy is terrible want be back. Moving my prescription to another company done with fry's. Went to the eye doctor yesterday and had to have a prescription antibiotic eye drops for my very irritated eyes. The office at the eye doctor called my prescription in yesterday afternoon @ around 4pm. Got a text message from fry's at 8am this morning saying not ready yet. Went all day long needing these drops. No other text message was sent too me. I go over to the pharmacy around 24hrs later after my appointment. They can't find my prescription on the computer. Took forever to find it. Showed her my text message on my phone. Still can't find it. Finally the female pharmacist comes over and fines it, it hasn't been filled yet 24hrs. later. I'm pissed the assistant tells me to take a seat but I choose to go shop for the things I need at fry's. I come back 30mins. later get in line again the second time. Got to the counter it's still not ready the assistant goes back to the male pharmacist Adam was notified by the assistant that I need the prescription filled the assistant tells me the second to take a seat. I lost it and got so mad I told them forget it I would come back tomorrow 09/28/2024 to get the prescription. My eyes or burning and itching bad with still NO DROPS for my eyes. Shotty customer service just cost you a client to your store in done with Fry's and Krogers period. Costco here I come. I will cancel my prescription and move everything to Costco. So long Fry's.... Most people stop at the fuel station for convenience of it being a quick transaction. This morning I stopped to get a drink and rang up my items, there was a line of people behind me. I had my card in the reader but the cashier has to push the button on their side to let it process. Meanwhile theres 2 female employees standing at the register talking. After standing there a considerable amount of time waiting, I asked if they could push the button on their side, and their response was to put their finger up and tell me, the customer whos been standing there forever, to WAIT. They finally pushed the button, must have been a lull in their fascinating conversation so they made the time to press the button for me. What ever happened to customer service? Pride in a job well done? Everyone behind me witnessed this interaction and no one was happy about it. read more

I want to start this review by stating that this Fry's was a very clean and well run establishment. I went through three people before I was able to talk to the manager, but I told them that they were doing a great job and they should be proud of the store that they run. I'm glad I spoke to the manager when I did, because my experience here got a little bit CRAZY after that. If I had spoken to them after the fact I'm sure I would have been a little heated. After all, it was over 100 degrees outside. HA! Anyway, I was buying myself a little treat when disaster struck. Well, it struck when I was outside, but none the less it struck in regard to my little treat! The Disaster: I bought some cookies and went back to my car. I couldn't help myself so I tried to dig into the package while I was skipping on back to my car (yes I skip sometimes, it is healthier than walking and it makes me feel young again). when I dug in, the cookies exploded everywhere and I didn't get to eat a single one. :( I took a picture. I'm only giving 1 star because the employees - some of them - were wearing masks. This is a grocery store - not much to say or review. However, I was completely shocked at the lack of safety and cleanliness I experienced when visiting this store on 5/23/20. Aside from the lack of customers wearing masks - maybe 1 out of 10 or so - there was a complete lack of cleanliness or control on the part of the store. No one cleaning or wiping down carts No one cleaning or wiping down doors/handles/etc No signage to control customer flow or social distancing No one controlling how many people go in at once - no occupancy control There are plenty of grocery stores all around the city. I won't be going back to this location. If you can't even control the basics during a pandemic, what else is lacking? read more

We love shopping at this Fry's Marketplace location. They have everything we need and their bakery, deli, and fish is always fresh. There is a reason why this grocery store is always busy. It is because they provide great customer service, they are clean, and have everything you need at a one stop shop. This is (was?) our go-to grocery store and this review is about the latest changes that are taking place. First - it seems that most of their inventory is being moved around. Ok, we can get used to that. But, it also seems that they are reducing the number of cashiers. I only count two cashiers open when I go these days, which is less than the ~4 that were operating before. I have no problem negotiating the self-check with smaller cart loads, but with a large order it really becomes inconvenient. Cashiers are much faster than I, especially with a good bagger backing them up. BUT, the cashier this morning (one of the two that were on duty) was SLOW and didn't have a bagger. the line was long and it took forever. With the reduction of cashiers and absence of baggers, this is unacceptable. Running large orders through the self-check not only requires me to look up codes, but the bagging area IS WAY TOO SMALL. Several bags will not fit in the bagging space, forcing me to cram my items into fewer bags. Can't wait until eggs are damaged or bag handles rip. Maybe we can get extra fuel points or rebates for bagging our own groceries? I have enjoyed going to this store, but if something doesn't change I'll be going elsewhere. read more

This evening around 7 pm, I was shopping at the Fry's on McKellips & Stapley in Mesa. I needed assistance at the floral counter. Since there was nobody there, after waiting and having a few employees walk by me, I looked around and saw a young lady working at the self help checkout. She was with another customer, so I waited for a few minutes. Eventually when she was done she looked at me and said "What's up?" I was somewhat surprised by her casual attitude, but dismissed it. I told her I needed help in the flower department and asked her to have someone meet me there. After a fair amount of time she came over and said it was closed. I said it looked open and I needed help buying balloons there. She said again that it was closed and I said there was no indication of that. She pointed to a sign on the other side of the counter and said that the sign stated the department was closed. I asked her to show me and she sighed and made a face and copped an attitude even further. When we walked over there, the sign had nothing to do with the hours. So, I asked if she could get her manager to help me. Again, she visibly had an attitude and turned around and left. I waited for quite a while and nobody came over. Eventually I left and finished my other shopping. On my way to check out, I saw her at the self service area and stopped by. I asked if she had found her manager. She said "Yeah, that's her in the red vest over there" and pointed to the far end of the store. I tried to explain to her what a poor customer service experience this was and she was argumentative. The conversation was going nowhere fast, so I told her I would come back later and find someone else in charge. I asked her what her name was. She said, "My name is Selena, don't forget it." The whole time interacting with her, she was disrespectful, smarmy, and petulant. If she gave that kind of attitude to a teacher in school, she would be given detention. If she gave that kind of attitude to a parent, she would be given a time out. What should the results of her behavior be as an employee in the service industry treating customers poorly? I don't expect concierge service. I understand this is a grocery store and these are minimum wage and young workers. But there's basic common sense that applies to any customer service role. After our exchange, she was laughing and giggling while standing around talking to her coworker friends. She wasn't working and not attempting to help me or anybody else. Just standing around wasting the company's money. She's obviously young as she is still in braces, but what is to become of her as she makes her way in the world with an attitude like that? How is she going to fare in college or in other jobs and with adults in society? I sincerely hope this message finds its way back to her. And to her boss, and whoever hired her, and whoever trained her, and to the manager of the store, and to that person's manager. Not only was Selena unhelpful and rude, but I couldn't find any adults in charge and there was no apparent way to escalate let alone get help with my problem shopping there. This whole experience doesn't represent Fry's well at all. It isn't just a failure on one employee's part, it's a failure in training and management and company culture. I've been shopping at Fry's since I moved to town in 2008. During the pandemic, I went out of my way to support not just Fry's but this particular store since I live in the neighborhood. I have a large extended family, we entertain a lot, and we spend a lot of money at Fry's. But no more. Selena asked me not to forget her name. I did not. I remembered it long enough to come home and write this all down. And now I'll forget it, along forgetting Fry's. I'll be shopping elsewhere from now on. read more

I love this grocery store because it has EVERYTHING! It used to be a Smitty's if you remember those and it is very clean and organized. Pretty typical Fry's. The meat section is great and I don't know if it is the lighting, but their produce always looks so much nicer than the Neighborhood Walmart or Bashes down the street. Today while I was there the bagger dude noticed that my sour cream had two coupons that were missed that were attached to them. The woman was awesome because I told her not to worry about it and so she gave me $1.20 out of the register after the sale was over to make up for it. AWESOME!!!! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because when it is all said and done you do end up spending a bit more here than at above mentioned stores. Also, today I found out they don't carry travel size contact solution?! Really? *This location has a gas station connected to it and offers a discount of $.10 per gallon on every $100 spent on grocery's. It isn't major but when you have to eat and you have to buy gas it is always good to get a little back. -Love it! read more

The staff here is mostly young people. That's fine but the problem is they seem too busy chatting with each other to provide customer service. Even the manager that's always there when I go, his name is Conrad, does this. I've only ever seen him talk to employees. I go there all the time because it's close to my house and they have a good selection at decent prices. The recent remodel moved some things into better locations but some to worse, so that's a wash. Yesterday I was at the store and noticed 2 of my 5 items rang up for more than advertised. I complained and after a few minutes of investigating they said the sign was for a sale that ended the day before. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to advertise a price and ring up another. If I had more than 5 items I wouldn't have noticed. I was there at 6pm. How many people that day bought that item and paid the higher price? Probably several. They also close down the self checkout lines later in the evening, around 830pm. Why? Some of us prefer to use that because the staff stinks. If they close them to encourage customer interaction with the staff why not tell the staff to interact with the customers instead of each other? It was 830pm when I was there and Conrad, the manager, was having the cashier count out her drawer. I stood there waiting. The cashier and Conrad both ignored me for 5 minutes while they did this. When they were done no apology was offered, instead I was treated as if I had just walked up. In short, the food is good and the prices are competitive but the staff leaves a lot to be desired. It makes it seem like no customer service training is given for any employees. If they were focus on the customer they could be the best store around. But as it is now you may as well go to any other store if it's closer to you. read more

deli guys is absolutely a pro at handling bad situations with scheduling! today there was a long line at the deli counter because there were 2 new people training. He handled it with a cool, calm and collected composure despite the frustration of being the only veteran there. He went out his way to acknowledge situation in a professional and polite manner! what a great customer service experience!! bravo! this was today, Feb. 1st around noon - I want to make sure he is acknowledged and rewarded for going above and beyond! the two women who were with him were awesome as well - they asked questtions instead of doing it wrong and having to redo it. it's awesome seeing employees feel comfortable and welcomed enough to do their job right without hesitation! y'all have got a great deli team over there! read more

It's a Frys, there's lots to buy and do. My favorite is the sushi bar, olive bar self serve, and the Starbucks in door with plenty of chairs. Cashiers are a tad but labial, I prefer using the self check out, but even then the cashiers there can be pretty crass when having to help you. Perhaps I'm being too sensitive, but it beats the smaller wal mart marketplace a mile away.. read more

I normally do not like to leave a bad review for anyone as a person just might be having a bad day. In this case, I am writing it because of multiple negative encounters. Today and in the past my encounter with the staff has not always been friendly and helpful. Granted they are busy, but how about a friendly tone and not the, "you can wait until I am ready" attitude. Something like, I will be right with you. Today, my insurance information, that has not changed in years, was suddenly not in their system. Things happen, OK. The cashier's attitude was I somehow changed my insurance or did something wrong. After she re-entered my insurance information, I was told that I need to wait an additional 24 hours for my prescriptions to be filled. It is not so much about the additional time as it is about the history of lack of customer service. No one likes to stand and not be acknowledged, or feel like they would rather be doing anything other than caring for customers. read more

Absolutely the rudest gas station attendant I have ever encountered. I am a frequent Frys customer at both the market places and the gas stations. I've ventured out of my typical stores that I use as I am out and about for work. Instead, I stopped at the frys gas station on stapley and McKellips. I have never in my entire life received such rude service. I'm not sure if it's because of the window and the speaker and it's raining so people can't hear but again I was quite taken back. read more

I love this Fry's and come in almost daily to buy something. Most of the employees are always super friendly and will go above and beyond if something goes wrong. There are a few older women that work in customer service that could be better and their job, but the other employees make up for it. On more than one occasion I have come in and received free flowers, samples, stickers, candy and balloons for my daughter just for shopping here. It's always clean and the store is always set up nicely. It's a great Fry's. read more

Just moved to the neighborhood and this frys is closest to me so I was very excited to see their big deli department.. so I went over to the deli and asked for an 8 piece fried chicken meal since I notice the young kid working there had just gotten it out and was about to put it in the tray to keep warm but some people asked for some pieces and he served them from the freshly made chicken.. so I decided I was going to take some for dinner too... so I asked for an 8 piece meal.. he wasnt too happy when I asked him to give me the chicken before he actually put it inside the warming display I guess he got bothered by my request and I didn't notice until I got home that he had served me from the OLD chicken he had there already, the pieces were so small and dried I didnt eat it, I got so upset and disappointed I ended throwing it in the trash. Not even my dogs deserved that old dried chewy chicken that I'm sure he was about to toss in the trash. I most certainly will not go back to their deli department. So disappointed to see that young employees cant stand a customer request. I wasnt even mean nor gave him an attitude, he just decided he didnt like I asked him to give me the chicken before he put it inside the warmer.. I wish I could have paid attention to his name to call the manager. Just based on my opinion: Bashas is crap...Safeway is good, but tends to be expensive...Albertson's, meh...Food City, ICK!...AJ's is fabulous (if you're a millionaire-don't get me wrong, I like to buy a couple items on occasion, but you need serious moola to shop there on a regular basis). Out of all the grocery stores I could shop at I choose Fry's. I've been to several in the Valley & I like this one the best. It's especially nice that we live practically right next door. This Fry's was re-modeled awhile back & definitely looks more updated than a lot of the others. Most of the employees have genial dispositions with the exception of a couple crab-balls (eh...every store is gonna have them). A decent selection of groceries, great prices, and regular discounts make this my favorite grocery store. read more

I used to love coming to this location When I lived in Arizona they always have great sales and great quality and all the items they sell very friendly employees very clean establishment very clean atmosphere my favorite area to visit the store was the meat department they used a lot of great qualities and all the meat that they prepare and sell they also had a very great service deli and a very great bakery they always had great sales going on in the weekly ads very great prices and very great establishment with lots of different items to choose from The shelves are always nice and full in this store with lots of available items to choose from this location also has a self check out so if you don't feel like waiting in line for the cashier or you could check yourself out I highly recommend this grocery store for everyone this establishment definitely have something for everyone I will definitely be coming back here again soon next time I am in town visiting for more great items and more great customer services thank you frys market place for everything you guys do read more
