I been to the Fu Kee Bao Dim store several times to buy frozen dim sum. Fu Kee Bao Dim is located in a plaza where there are many places that make dim sum. I have purchased shrimp har gow and pork siu mai. The prices are great compared to buying dim sum from a restaurant. I steamed the dim sum in my instant pot. Service is okay. The retail aspect is not great since the people are kind of hostile. You can see the workers making the dim sum in the back. The last time I was there, the door was locked, but luckily somebody opened the door. read more

The frozen dim sum here is really good. Prices are pretty reasonable. Love the huge har gows and other dumplings. They have quite a selection of frozen goods. You take a pully basket and pick what you want, then pay at the front. Parking is plentiful. Remember to bring cash. read more

Great assortment of frozen dim sums, some are packaged with name and instructions to cook, some you should just know apparently! This is the place many friends swear by, even though it's in a plaza with many similar options, this one is the busiest. The parking is tough, narrow plaza and limited but you're quick running in. It's cash or debit only, buy over $100 and you get a big cold bag for your purchases and for their flashy advertising. I have been craving dim sum for awhile, but felt like getting take-out defeats the purpose - no ones likes cold dim sum and re-steaming the dim sum felt like too much work, especially after paying prices that is more or less equivalent to dining in. I had Fu Kee Dim Sum bookmarked for a few years, but forgot about it until I recently saw some Instagram photos. Came here on a Saturday and got regular shrimp siu mai, beef siu mai, pork stuffed bean curd roll and charcoal lava custard buns. Shrimp siu mai is my favourite dish and is what I use to judge restuarants by. I really enjoy Fu Kee's siu mai. I like how it was bite size (just like the ones you get in Hong Kong), had a small piece or 2 of shrimp so you are not eating a pork meatball. A lot of dim sum restaurants don't serve beef siu mai in the GTA, so I surprise to see it here! The yellow wrapper looked a bit odd to me (I am used to see a white wrapper in Hong Kong), but obviously it didn't affect the flavour. For the bean curd roll, remember to steam it in a separate plate/bowl because they come with a bit of frozen sauce (jelly like) stuck to it. Their attention to detail made the dish taste restaurant quality! I got the custard bun because my boyfriend is a fan of it. However, I found that the bun to custard ratio was a bit high. I had approx 2 bites of the bun before I hit the custard part. Also, the custard was super runny, more sauce like than "lava". I'll definitely come back to try their other dishes, their wonton and Canton style dumplings look really good! I think I should get a refer bonus, as 1 friend and 1 colleague already went to get frozen dim sum after I showed them the pictures last week. read more

There is a reason why there always is a line out the door for this store, and it's because the chef who wraps the dumpling is one who also works at one of the better dim sum restaurants across the GTA. Har gow dumplings are always super plump and juicy, the skin is super thin once steamed and the flavour is out of the world. I also love the variety of frozen dimsum items they have (they had like 5 different kinds of siu mai!!). Lots of also ready cooked meals that is easy to steam up/heat back up at home as well. If you spend 100$ or more at one time, you also get a free cooling bag to help carry your frozen dim sum home! I go at least once a month to ensure i have some good quality frozen dim sum at home if i ever have a craving and i don't want to go out to a restaurant. My wife is scoping out this dim sum wholesaler that also sells to the general public. The parking lot was busy and I volunteered to stay outside to guard the vehicle and social distance with myself. Anyhow, she came back after 15 minutes and said there was a great selection and the pricing was the same as a similar smaller dim sum store in the same industrial plaza (which I Yelped about). The most notable difference here are product labels which include how to prepare the food, plus an ingredients list! That's a good thing right? Most people would like to know that something isn't going to make them ill before ingesting. Staff were friendly and helpful in explaining things, if you had any questions. Cash is king but debit is accepted here. No to credit cards. We will be back again...and I'm going in next time! Other notables: Not rated Accessible. The parking lot is a zoo/very busy. I saw a line outside waiting to get it and this is one of the bigger stores in the area, I guess a lot of people like them. I went there to get siu mai because they have a variety of siu mai that many places don't offer. I think their fish siu mai (街邊燒賣) is awful, tasted chalky. But other flavours were pretty decent, I have never seen some of the flavours in regular dim sum places, wonder where they ship it to. Other than dim sum their walnut buns were also quite good, a bit too sweet but it tasted good. My advice will be to avoid anything with seafood, you can taste the frozen food flavours from all their seafood, just don't get them. But everything else is good for the price. read more

With the pandemic lasting likely till next year, a lot of places are now offering frozen dim sum as Toronto is closed for dine in. This place now called Fu Kee Bao Dim came up as highly recommended and sells a lot of frozen Dim Sum that you can easily buy in store and steamed at home. I didn't have room in my freezer so I only got a few things from this popular place. Rumour has it that the chef used to work at one of the top Dim Sum Place such as Skyview Fusion and therefore, may be one of the cause as to why there are constantly long line ups as the quality of their dim sums are supposedly quite high but I questioned whether this is even true because one of the main product I've tried which is the Har gow, the staple of all dim sum, the skin was way too thick, making it very disgusting to consume.. Maybe the chef is not strong in making Har Gow? :) LOL I also got a few buns.. The salt egg yolk was actually disappointing and it is better to sick with the meat buns. The milk plain buns were not bad. I will still stop by if I am in the area but I will not wait 30+ mins in line.. Also, the prices seemed to have increased and quantity seemed to have shrink too since they grew in popularity. read more

Fu Kee Bao Dim is a Dim Sum place but it is not a restaurant. They only have frozen dim sum packages. I find there prices to be reasonable and the ingredients fresh. I also tried their dishes. I bough a dish with ribs and lotus roots. Note their dishes are frozen and raw. So we needed to cook the ribs and lotus roots separately. Other than that, the food tasted really good. This is not an exclusively vegetarian joint, however there are some vegetarian dim sum options available. My brother picked up vegetarian lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice and it was great. It was flavourful and the owner confirmed that it is Buddhist friendly. Although I cannot attest to the other items available, the sticky rice was delicious! read more

Pretty much a hidden gem because you would never really 'stumble upon it' otherwise, but seems like most of the neighborhood knows about them already as it's never empty. Minimal packaging with instructions on the front (most items you steam). Large selections of fish balls/ wontons/ buns etc..they even had the salted egg yolk bun (ample filling) and chicken feet!! Restaurant quality dim sum you can get right at home! I've tried a lot of frozen dim sum in the area and somehow I always come back to Fu Kee Bao Dim. I've gone to both locations and both have similar options. My favourites are the classic Shrimp Siu Mai, Bean Curd Rolls and Chicken Feet. Prices are decent for the amount you get as you can split into a few meals (maybe 2 at most depending how much you are eating). It's just great quality food. Just watch out because you always overspend coming here! read more

Covid has got me craving dim sum more than ever so when I came across this whole saler on Yelp, I was so excited! Most of the items come in packages of 6-9 pieces and compared to dining in, this is definitely the cheaper option. There's also no tax - another plus! There's instructions on how to steam the dishes but it's pretty much foolproof. 20 mins in the steamer and you're good. Some of my fave items: - Their buns. I would definitely rate their siu mai as better than pretty much every other dimsum place, with the exception of the dragon boat fusion chains. They have shrimp, scallop, and abalone topped siu mai, along with other regular pork/beef ones. I wish they would have a shrimp based siu mai, but it seems like its only common in Ottawa. Their siu mai is properly meaty and juicy, with a slight elasticity. Basically its perfection. Their dumplings however are a bit strange. The filling texture is more of a beef ball instead of a normal dumpling. Its a bit weird to have it be springy. My family has since bought proper steamers after discovering this place, and will be regularly getting our dimsim fix. read more

I love this place for frozen dimsum - so easy to make too! All you need is to steam it and you've got restaurant quality dim sum right at home! They have so many different kids of buns - even milk tea buns. This place can get quite busy and the parking isn't as ideal, but it's definitely worth it. They have a location in Scarborough as well. Dim Sum is a wholesale frozen dim sum distributor that's also open to the public. It's in a little industrial looking plaza strip of other wholesalers. There's a small front shop that has freezers full of dumplings, pot stickers and bao of all flavours. There's typical pork/veggie offerings but there's also some unique options like scallop or veggie. There's also a few dessert items including the black sesame glutinous rice balls and lotus paste buns. Everything is made in house and you can actually see the ladies in the back folding up the dumplings. The lady that owns the store is very nice. I was looking for black sesame balls which happened to be sold out after winter solstice. She had me leave my number and would call me when the chef whipped up a new batch. She gave me a call back when they were done and had them set aside for me to pickup. I thought that was really nice considering my order was really small compared to restaurant orders. The black sesame balls turned out to be great! The flour had a fresh taste and the dough was a good chewy texture (chewy is actually good in this case). The sesame filling had a deep flavour and wasn't too sweet. The ratio of filling to dough was also preferable since there was a lot of filling and not like you were just eating dough. I also picked up some of the veggie potstickers which I'm looking forward to trying. If you're ever in the neighbourhood it's a cool little shop to check out! read more

This store is not closed! They are open but only from Friday to Sunday due to COVID-19. They open on Thursday for 65+. I heard about this store before the COVID-19 but never made it to the store. And when I wanted to go and it said it is closed on Yelp! Luckily my mom's friend told me about it recently so off we went this morning. We bought tons of dim sum for $70. The place is clean so does the kitchen. We tried some at home just now and they were very good! So good my non-Chinese hubby said we don't need to go to dim sum restaurant anymore. read more

A somewhat hidden gem on Millikan with a large assortment of frozen dim sum and dishes like curried baby squid. Prices are less than dim sum restaurants but somewhat more than competing places. The lady was very polite for a Chinese shop. She introduced me some of their specialty. So far I tried #20 Shrimp Speical Wonton, $10 for 3 packs.
