rolls tasted like they were pre-made and refrigerated then pulled out and topped. the hot saki was barely warm. Then the sushi chef left to fix a problem with one of the hibachi stations, preceded to balance himself with his hand on the floor, then returned quickly ran his hands under water ( no soap, did not change gloves) and started making sushi again. Sadly the quality of sushi is better at the grocery stores. cda has some good sushi restaurants, definitely worth the drive. read more

Amazing food, great environment, and friendly staff. The staff was friendly and upbeat even though we were seated next to a miserable bunch of assholes that were extremely rude and impatient with the staff. There were only 2 chefs working, the others were out with covid. It's like this everywhere, we should know this. I hope our happy, understanding and appreciative attitude helped to make up for their poor demeanor. Also, my 8 year old son was beyond impressed and gave the chef 20 out of 10 . How does this place not have 5+ stars??? Here's how tonight went.... I never get out (8 month old daughter) I wanted filet.... went to A nearby steakhouse and apparently everyone else wanted steak to So we left... came to Fu-Ki.... new Fave!... blew that steak house OUT of the water. Ordered the filet mignon (MR) and shrimp Teppan and it was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the hibachi chicken teppan (also delicious) and our tiny little daughter loved it to! We will definitely be coming back this is our new date night spot and we will absolutely ask for Landon!!!! Thank you Landon for making my night out as a mom, very special!!! read more

The service at this restaurant is horrible! I made a reservation for dinner and when we showed up right on time, our table was given away and we were told it'd be a few minutes while they clean another table. 30 minutes later I went up to check how long it would be and they didn't know who I was and that I was here for a reservation. This repeated for another 10 minutes before they finally realized who we were and they finally had a table ready. Once we sat down we ordered and drinks, when my boyfriend, who is 22 years old, tried to order beer with dinner, they refused him service because he did not have a horizontal ID. They completely made up a random rule on the spot that makes no sense. When we asked why that's a rule, the server became very rude and defensive saying by serving someone who is of age with a vertical ID rather than a horizontal ID will make her loose her license. This server also claimed she was the manager, but the actual manager later came up to us to hear about the situation and try to convince us to stay. Overall, the chef was nice but that was the only positive to the situation. I would not recommend coming here unless you want horrible service and mediocre food. It ruined the celebration dinner we had planned. read more

This place deserves 0 stars. We ordered for pickup recently and after unexpectedly being placed on hold repeatedly, was told it would be 55 minutes. When we arrived to pick it up, our order had not been made. To top it off the young and clearly new employee, was incredibly rude and obviously didn't know what she was doing. Our friends took us for their birthdays this last weekend. The service was amazing! We started off with the tempura veggies, which I had never had and they were amazing!! I ordered the New York strip medium rare and chicken, my husband ordered teriyaki beef medium rare, one friend ordered the filet mignon medium and chicken and the other ordered the new york strip medium rare and lobster. We all got fried rice. We sat at one of the grills and I wish our chef spoke a little clearer when he was speaking so that we knew what he was doing and he wasn't much fun I found my self watching the other chefs and the fun things they were doing. The food was good, not great though which was disappointing especially for what we spend on dinner. The fried rice was okay honestly I make better at home lol. My husband's steak was definitely rare instead of medium rare and the rest of us got Medium which was very disappointing. For dessert, we got the tempura bananas and vanilla and green tea ice cream and they were okay not my favorite though. The best part of the whole meal was the tempura veggies. read more

We started with edmame & the mixed tempura which was good. The sushi was the worst we've ever had. The nigiri was bad - couldn't eat the albacore & the salmon was hard. The chicken sea breeze roll.. wow. The crab in it was watery & there was no texture to the roll other than that. The ama ebi deep fried heads were delicious. I don't know how you can mess up Teriyaki Chicken and Chicken Yakisoba, but there's a first for everything. I've had thousands of teriyaki chicken dishes and this May be the worst yet. The chicken was so chewy and hard, it almost gave me TMJ. The sauce is terrible. The rice bland. The roasted veggies were the only redeeming quality of this dish. There were lots of them and they were yummy. The chicken yakisoba had a sauce that was like molasses. The sushi was OK. The service is pretty awful. Was told food would be ready in 30 minutes but took over an hour. And extremely overpriced as well. I guess we'll have to drive to Spokane for any seven Teriyaki... read more

This is so sad. The food is great and the chef's are amazing. Sadly, the management is not customer oriented or even a decent human for that matter. We ordered take-out and picked up our food. When we got home we realized that there was 2 orders of tempura missing. I called to let them know and they argued with me that I was wrong. First they asked me to bring back the order. NO. Then they said they would check the video surveillance camera to see how many bags we picked up. OMG. ok... check the camera. The manager calls me back and says "well it looks like you did not have enough bags for what you ordered". WELL DUH. I asked for a credit and she said no. She can only offer me a coupon to use at that restaurant next time. LOL. There will never be a next time. read more

First let me say thank you Josh and Chrissy for excellent service. I went for lunch with my dearest friends. I was not sure what to expect. I went for the bento lunch. Excellent! Fresh! Tasty! No complaints. Everyone else loved what they had. Steak and chicken. It was reasonably priced. I loved that you could get low sodium meals. Loved that they told us if there was going to be an extra charge when we asked for additional items. I loved the cleanliness of the place and the artwork on the walls. Loved that there was parking. Surprised that there was a Japanese restaurant in Post Falls. Fu Ki doesn't mean anything in Japanese, but Fuku does... in/ for luck to pray or honor before you eat... or is it the other way around? Is that the true name? I couldn't tell. Outside, it's horribly dated. Inside as well. I didn't find it very clean either. Service was friendly and prompt. By any means is this Japanese food either. The soup was cold, the Teppan fare was mostly rice, onions, and a bit of the cheapest cut meat. The Teppan show was cute. Salad was old. Too many of the young servers and hosts were hanging about talking with one another, (prior to closing) which was distracting at times. The restaurant is mostly families and noise factor was loud. The worst service ever. These people are evil. I walked in behind a regular. They knew him by name and took his order as he sat. He was done with his sashimi salad before my order was taken 30 minutes later. I watched the chef make an endless train of to go orders while I waited for him to slide in a sushi bar order...like every other sushi bar in the world. Fish was ok. Rice was not sticky and sushi fell apart when picked up with chopsticks. One hour it took to be served 8 pieces of fish on rice. No complicated cooked rolls. Just sashimi. Three people in the place...and a ton of to go. I eat sushi weekly And will never set foot in this joint again . It gets one star only because it needs a star rating to activate the comment box. Do yourself a favor go buy sushi at the Yokes grocery store across the street. Sushi and service are better. read more

Our family of 5 plus 2 kids planned to go here for an early dinner. The host was less than enthusiastic about putting two tables together for our group on the sushi side. We were quoted a 30-40 minute wait for a table since it was busy. We watched some chefs do the hibachi tricks in the doorway (not blocking anything) and were told very rudely, "you can either go outside or sit down". Another family was seated before us. We waited for a total of over an hour and a half before deciding to go to another restaurant. They also didn't call the phone number that we had put down to call when it was our turn, even after we had finished our meal at the other (amazing) restaurant. It was ultimately a waste of time with absolutely terrible service, no communication, we didn't even get through the door in an hour and a half. Ridiculous and won't be returning. read more

We ordered takeout for our family tonight. It was mainly sushi. I have given two stars because we did not try the steakhouse side. Otherwise it may have been 1 star. The one star is for the service. It was very good on take out orders. We ordered their Fu-ki sashimi and a couple rolls. The quality of the fish barely made sushi grade, it had a very old fishy flavor where the ammonia from degradation overpowers the sweet and slightly salty flavor of fresh sushi. The albacore tuna was severely bruised and had a purple/brownish tone to half of the cut we had. The yellowfin was mushy and had very little of the fresh firm texture tuna has. The shrimp was floppy and over coated with a dressing. The rolls we ordered had very little fish on or in them. The flavors were very mediocre. The best part of the meal was the rice and edamame. We live locally and wanted this to be much better than what we got. I hope they increase the quality of fish they buy. read more

We have been going to fuki for years and never have we had such terrible service. There were bones in the eel on our dragon roll, the price inflation is insane, I get the sushi prices going up, but the most basic things have nearly doubled in price. The server was quite rude, barely checked on us, didn't answer any questions, double charged for things, rolled his eyes when we had our children with us and had someone offer us to go boxes about 2 mins after receiving our food. For a restaurant to tout itself as "The Best Sushi Bar in Coeur d'Alene Area," the sushi must be pretty darn good! During our visit the sushi was not only not the best in the area, it was the worst sushi I have EVER had. Many of the basic rolls were pre-made, wrapped in plastic wrap and store unrefrigerated on a shelf inches from the floor. I contemplated having oysters on the half shell but quickly opted not to when it became obvious that the most anyone in the restaurant could tell me was "they came from Washington." We ordered a whole soft shell crab. It was stale, overcooked and over-breaded. It had a definite off taste. I noticed uni on the menu - sea urchin - one of my favorites. Bright orange, sweet and very delicate. When the dish arrived I ate one and was immediately struck with a sour, nasty taste and smell. I looked more closely at the remaining other piece and saw that inside it was grey/green and slimy. Needless to say I didn't eat it - even though two pieces cost $8. Fortunately "smell-a-vision" has not been invented!!! My dining companion ordered a unagi (eel) roll. The rice was dry the amount of eel was minimal - not good. I tried a pair of spicy scallops. Again, poorly made with less than fresh ingredients - very bad. (You'd think I'd quit at this point - but no........) In an effort to provide a complete review I asked for a pair of tobiko. The server had no idea what I was talking about and neither did the sushi "chef." I settled for a pair of masago nigiri. A reference on the internet states that: "Tobiko" is flying fish roe (eggs) and "masago" is capellin roe. I've heard they are very similar in taste, though tobiko is slightly larger in overall size. The key difference is price. Tobiko is generally more expensive than masago, which is the reason a good many sushi restaurants and bars use masago as topping instead of tobiko." It was mushy, tasteless and unappetizing. Don't order it in place of tobiko. Fresh, made-to-order sushi is a peak dining experience. Watching a Sushi Chef work their magic is a big part of the "sushi experience. I sat at the sushi bar so that I had a clear view of the prep area. As noted before, the pre-made rolls were clearly visible, just above the floor. I also noted small stainless steel tubs of pre-cut sushi fish. The "Chefs" at Fu-Ki are mere "assemblers." For the most part they pull up pre-made rolls, and lay on pre-cut fish, slice the roll and serve. Shameful. My recommendation is to avoid the sushi at Fu-ki at all costs. The other, and obviously much more successful aspect of Fu-ki restaurant is teppanyaki dining. For those that are not familiar with this cooking style it was largely invented in Japan in 1945 to appeal to the palates of Americans. It is mostly steak, chicken or shrimp (sometimes lobster or scallops). Judging from the reaction of the diners/audience, the teppanyaki chefs at Fu-ki seems to do it well. My recommendations for diners are: avoid the sushi at all costs - bring six friends and enjoy the teppanyaki and the show. My strong recommendations for the owner of Fu-ki is eliminate the sushi bar and install two more teppanyaki tables and stop advertising that you have the best sushi in the Coeur d'Alene area - you don't. Oh and one thing more - change your signage. The name of the restaurant looks like a word I can't write here - especially in the stylized script you use. read more

Burnt black ruined lobster. 2nd time we have ordered take out here. The first time we ordered the lobster crunch roll and it was burnt. We didn't call or complain the first time. We understand mistakes happen. The 2nd time we ordered I asked them to take care that the lobster wasn't burnt like the first time. When I got home I realized that it was burnt again, and the lobster that wasn't burnt black was hard and ruined. I called to tell them and the manager was very very disrespectful and told me that I had to bring it back so that they could see if it was "actually burnt as bad as you say it is". I told them I wasn't driving back to them because they made a mistake that I asked them specifically to watch for. I told them that I could send a picture through phone or email, but they said no one had a phone that was capable of receiving a photo or a company email. She said the only way they can make it right, is if they could see In person if it was "actually as bad as you say it is". She said that it was my responsibility to check before I left the restaurant. The person I talked to was very disrespectful, sarcastic, condescending l, and implied several times that I was Not being truthful or honest. Many of the employees didn't have masks on when I picked the food up. Including the employees at the podium greeting people. Food was terrible and burnt both visits. Service was disrespectful and poor. Very little COVID-19 specific care. Especially for food service. We won't be back. read more

Was mi first time trying this place and it was really good! Had seaweed sald and then a philly roll LOL forgot to take a picture of that, did get their large sushi boat, it was amazing! There are no local places in cd'a that do this. They give several different sushi boat sizes. There's only couple of other Japanese sushi places that do this but are in Spokane, Wa. So it was nice not to go to Japanese restaurant that wasn't to far away. They have choices of different sushi, or u can go in the room area of where the have a huge cooking stoves and watch them cook ure food for you. Yes I would recommend this place. went on a Monday evening and it wasn't busy, so that was nice. read more

Fuki used to be my favorite restaurant in Post Falls for MANY years. It's clear to see there's new management, considering the prices have sky rocketed and the restaurant has steadily went down hill. The service was horrid, the wait was as well. We finally got our spicy tuna roll and i am not kidding, it tasted like cat food. So much so that my DOG wouldn't even eat it. Anyways, trust me when I say that Yokes Supermarket (which is right across the street) has way better sushi and i highly recommend it considering the price is cut in half too. I love Fukis fried rice, environment, and grill section though so that's why it gets two stars instead of one. read more

My boys ordered a children's chicken meal and a shrimp kids meal. They absolutely loved it. My husband ordered a chicken noodle and fried rice meal and it was really good. I got the filet steak and I loved my meal as well. I love that it's in a newer building and they keep it clean. I also appreciate that the workers here wear their masks. We went to this restaurant tonight for the first time. We've been to the Hayden location several times, but first time to post falls and first time having anything other than sushi. I'll say the hibachi food was amazing. It was really great! The steak was delicious and the scallops and shrimp were also amazing! The chicken was good, but not nearly as good as those other proteins. My husband and mother-in-law LOVED the fried rice! So the stars are purely for the food. The service was bad. I think I'm understanding and patient when I go out but dang. The waitress was nice and seemed overwhelmed. She seemed rushed when she would come to the table. I asked for a roll and my words were "we would like the roll with the mango on it, I think it's called the summer roll, is that right?" And she said she knew what I was talking about and would put the order in. Then the wrong roll came out - no big deal, mistakes happen. We didn't touch the toll and when she came back I told her I thought we had been delivered the wrong roll but we didn't touch it. She said she wasn't sure she would be able to get it removed from our bill, a roll we didn't order and didn't touch.. I also ordered an order of nigiri. I saw her write it down, but it never came to the table. But we were not charged for it. So again, no biggie. We also ordered a side of noodles for the kids, it seemed like when we ordered it, along with their primary meal, she almost didn't want to do it... but after deliberation, it seemed fine. But that also didn't come. The hibachi chef had to run back and get noodles because they weren't in the order. He seemed annoyed. Luckily the food was great. So again, not a big deal. Just not a 5 star experience. And I would say the sushi is better at the Hayden location. read more
