Both tasted similar and good. Their soy sauce is just ok. 8/10. Pan friend noodle is pretty legit. Though the rice noodle got overly crushed, broken into too many small piece. We ate at this place for the first time and it was very disappointing. We ordered wonton noodle soup and shrimp rice noodles and both orders came out bad. The wonton did not look like wonton at all, it was much bigger than the typical wonton in size. It basically was a bunch of pork wrapped together in a wonton skin. The noodle was not the egg noodle that most wonton noodle used. Their noodle was white color and it looked like FUN instead of noodle. When I questioned if that bowl was noodle or FUN, the staff seemed to be annoyed. The way how she talked made me feel that they thought I have never seen noodle in the past. The shrimps rice noodles came out with no sauce at all. We put soy sauce on it, but it was still tasteless. This place did not offer table services, so we needed to put the tray and trash away once we were done. Self service wasn't an issue, but their trash can was full and the staff did not seem to care. Love the concept of a casual restaurant specializing in all types of cherng fun (steamed rice noodle rolls) but I think execution on quality could be a bit better. I came in to eat this past Saturday and ordered the roast pork rice noodle roll (stone mill version) and the curry fish ball rice noodle. For the roast pork one, the guy taking our order recommended the stone mill version so we went with it but I feel like I personally would've liked the steamed version (the kind you find at dim sum) or fabric steamed version (perhaps more soft and silky). Stone mill was just okay; nothing particularly amazing and I'm usually a fan of the dim sum style one anyway. As for the curry fish ball one, the mixed sauces is usually the star of the dish but I found the sauce to be too watery and the fish balls too doughy (fake). Still, I love that they offer 3 styles of these rice noodles here - typically you can only find one style per restaurant. If I lived closer I'd frequently return to try the others. I will be honest with you. I was afraid to try this place because my friends (multiple) have told me only bad things and the overall average rating on yelp isn't the best neither. Today my husband woke up extra early and decided he wanted some rice rolls. We did not know where we could get some in the area but he suddenly remembered seeing a sign for them here at Fu Yuan. I ordered the fish ball rice noodle (medium size) and my husband ordered two of their stone mill rice noodles. One with pork and eggs and the other with some kind of veggie. The texture of the fish balls were different to the ones I am use to. It's definitely got a bounce to it and the texture is smooth. Not complaining at all but I have also had better along 8th Avenue. Ordered a bunch of items for take out. This place has ALL TYPES of rice rolls, it can be a bit overwhelming. The crispy shrimp rice roll was a very unique rice roll, never seen that anywhere else. It had a crunchy layer under the rice roll skin and it was a great combination. I would definitely order that again. The fried dough rice roll is the typical one you can get a dimsum place, but the fried cruller was a bit chewy and not crunchy anymore by the time I ate it. I also tried the chicken and corn rice roll and it was quite tasty. Besides the rice rolls, they also have congee and other dishes. The fish congee was really good and it had a good amount of fish. Also tried the pumpkin congee but this was not for me. It tasted super healthy, more on the plain side and you can definitely taste the pumpkin. read more

There were two people before me making others, who were dining in. After making orders, each party is given a number that beeps when the order is ready. I ordered a Dried Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll, a Sampan congee, a Beef Rice Noodle Roll, and a Fried Dough Rice Noodle Roll. The items were fresh as it made to order. Fishball Noodles ($3): probably the only place in the area that sells fishball noodles with the peanut sauce like the food carts do? It's pretty decent, but very stingy, as they only give four fishballs per order. Yikes Pork Ribs ($5.50): the server/owner warned me that the ribs would be very hard/chewy as their recipe doesn't use flour coating, and yep, he was right. Don't expect fall off the bone, melty dim sum type of pork ribs that's for sure Fabric Steamed Beef Rice Noodles (B3, $3.25): possibly the most disappointing for me was this. I was really excited when I first got the order, as there was a piece of lettuce wrapped around the rice noodles. Traditionally, the ones I've had in Guangzhou, China looked the same, with the lettuce. However, "fabric" was definitely misleading as it wasn't paper thin at all. Was still quite thick and the minced pieces of beef rolled in between just fell off so easily. This place was definitely over-hyped because my mom and her friends kept saying how the Flushing location was amazing and that we had to check out this place. CASH ONLY What I Ordered: - Crispy Shrimp Rice Roll - This is not something you can find in at the regular dim sum places so it is a unique item. I found it way too oily for my liking. Yes, it has a crunchy factor but there was also barely any shrimp in there. There are 2 types of noodle rolls (steamed rice noodle roll & fabric steamed noodle roll). The Fabric steamed noodle roll is slightly more expensive. To be honest, I can't taste the difference as I ordered both types. Both types of noodle rolls aka churn fun have pretty thick skin and the best noodles rolls are supposed to be thin and kind of see through. The soy sauce for the noodle rolls helped with the flavor but it is pretty bland on it's own without any sauce. I ordered the roast pork noodle roll, dried shrimp and corn noodle roll, shrimp and egg noodle roll. I don't recommend you get their noodle rolls. - Curry Fish Ball Rice noodles - The Rice Noodles were OK. Curry Fish Balls are standard with the usual peanut sauce and sesame sprinkle. Nothing special here. You can find this at the churn fun carts in Chinatown. 2ND TIME ORDERING: I decided to give their Soup Noodles a try after having lackluster results with their rice noodle rolls. Brisket Lai Fun - Cashier said this was one of the popular item so I decided to try it but it was the meat was a little too fatty and the soup base was bland. Wonton Noodles - There was only 3 pieces of wonton in this big bowl of noodle soup and again the soup base was bland. Pork Ribs Knife Cut Noodles - The noodles are knife cut and chewy. It looks a bit like ribbons. The pork ribs are flavored but the meat is little dry. This is the only one where the soup base is slightly more flavorful because I watched the guy scoop some of the pork ribs sauce over the noodles. I don't think I'll be back a third time. Extremely delighted that there's finally a steam noodle place that opens early in Brooklyn! Owner said that they are the same popular Fu Yuan place in flushing! I scored as their first customer because that's how devoted to steam noodles I am! Woke up bright and early and got there at 7 once they open! As I stepped in, the aroma of pan fried dumplings, rice noodles, and curry fish balls filled the air. I ordered curry fish ball noodles in mixed sauce, roasted pork steam noodles, watercress steam noodles, and an order of pan fried dumplings (6). 3.5 stars for the food, perhaps I ordered take out and stuffing it in the container makes a difference. The steam noodles were too thick and a bit disappointing. The curry ball noodles with mixed sauce was delicious! The noodles are the rolled noodles. The pork dumplings are their own home made recipe as confirmed by their staff and was delicious! Currently, they are having a grand opening special of 15% off, which is a nice touch. My mom and I decided to try the beef steamed rice noodle and the beef stew flat noodle soup;it came out to be a little less than $8, which is a very decent price. However, I really do have to say that the food is VERY mediocre. The $6 beef stew noodle soup was bland and had very few pieces of actual beef in it. I do NOT recommend ordering this because it really tasted similar to or even worse than the beef noodle soup from a Chinese bakery. As for the steamed beef rice noodle, I do think that was worth the money. It was freshly made (you can taste the freshness) and it would definitely cost more at Kings Kitchen or at a Chinese dim sum restaurant down the street. Overall, I can see myself coming back for when I have a steamed rice noodle craving, but this place really is not that special. Came in on Memorial day and they were quite busy. It is best to call in your order, as it does take time to make the rice noodles. I had placed an order over the phone for 4 items, 2 crispy skin shrimp rice noodle roll, 1 beef rice noodle roll(stone mill style), and 1 beef stew with noodle soup. After 10 minutes, I went to pick up, they said my order wasn't ready so I kept waiting. After a while longer, I asked someone else for my order and it's been sitting there the entire time. The food itself was so so. I usually enjoy their shrimp noodle, but there was too much oil this time and I probably put just a little too much soy sauce in it. Although it was around a teaspoon or two only. I like the stone mill style rice noodles as they're thinner than the steamed kind. The main complaint is the beef stew with noodles. The beef could've been cooked for longer. The noodles even in soup wasn't flavorful. And this happened to be a recommendation from the person who took the order. Iced coffee is 2.50, but you can easily go next door for cheaper iced coffee. It's a little on the sweeter side, but does the trick. My mom has tried the hand pulled noodles here which isn't really hand pulled on the spot, but straight out of the packaging.
