Kani salad!

Updated Review: August 2025 My family loves this local spot! Ever since pre-COVID, we moved away from this neighborhood and haven't been here in over 4 years. Recently, came back and let me tell you, the food is just as good as we remembered - AND their prices are still so affordable! How? In this economy... when everyone is charging upwards to survive. I feel like bc HK Tea has a lot of regular customers and they are able to keep prices affordable. Which we so appreciate! The staff are friendly, efficient as the food comes out fast. The decor hasn't been changed, but still works for a HK cafe. We are now putting HK Tea back on our lunch rotation! Glad we came back. Highlight of our meal: -salt & pepper squid over rice! -salt & pepper chicken wings! (Best version) -stirfry instant noodle with pork! -beef & eggplant over rice! -cold HK milk tea (my fam loved it) -cheese baked dishes! (Best version) *Best version compared to other HK cafes and honestly does it way better.

We came here cause of the fusion Asian menu. The menu has a variety of Japanese and classic HK style cafe food. We waited for about 20 minutes for a table. We ordered a medium boat, beef chow fun with egg sauce, and baked pork chop with rice. The fish on the medium boat was fresh. The beef chow fun with egg sauce was too sweet. The sauce was incorrect for the baked pork chop with rice. We asked for cream sauce but we got curry sauce. We didn't bother to send it back because it was take at least 10 minutes for the baked dish.

Portuguese Chicken

I got the baked Portuguese chicken over spaghetti. I always forget whether I do it over spaghetti or rice and now I'll remember to do it over rice. Anyways, this is where you go when you want your food fast. It's straight to the point Baked Portuguese chicken is basically a curry like sauce with chicken and cheese melted on top over a bed of spaghetti. It's good and hits the spot I also got the salmon lover that I forgot to take a picture of. But 8 pieces of salmon sushi and 1 spicy salmon roll Surprisingly, it was fresh and tasted good You can pay with card or cash

A side order for my cousins.

I've been coming to this wonderful restaurant since my first visit a few years back. We came here when my auntie visited from Texas. The service is great - they greet you with a smile when you first walk in. The place is roomy with lots of tables, but they always have a line out the door. Most importantly, they have a huge menu with lots of selections to choose from. My favorites are the cheesy casseroles and the crabmeat avocado salad. I will continue to come here to try their other dishes!

Green Tea Ice Cream.

I would become a regular if I lived closer. They offer a huge variety of options from popular HK cafe dishes to sushi, which is perfect when you're craving both. We came an hour before closing and were seated right away. I ordered the Naruto Rainbow Roll ($10) and Beef Stew Lo Mein ($11) while the fiance had the Fried Chicken Steak Combo ($19), which comes with a soup, carb (spaghetti, fried rice, or fries), drink, and dessert. Needless to say, this was a lot of food with multiple courses. The food also came out pretty quickly. The roll was wrapped with thinly shredded cucumbers, which was so refreshing but a bit hard to eat. It's a great no carb option. The sushi was yummy overall and would definitely love to try more options next time. I didn't expect my beef stew lo mein to be dry with soup on the side, but it was still good. They gave a lot of noodles and the beef was very flavorful and tender. If you want good ol' classic HK food and sushi for a great value, come to this spot. Plus, portions are huge and every single table left with leftovers to take home for a second meal including us. The baked rice/spaghetti is a very popular dish here, so definitely would like to try this next time. Oh, and I can't forget the dessert was two scoops of ice cream. I got the green tea flavor, which was actually a rich matcha flavor! Even though I was so full, I couldn't help but finish all of this because it wouldn't let it go to waste and melt. Seriously wish I had a place like closer to me; feels like home with delicious and affordable food.

Decent neighborhood spot with classic HK options as well as sushi + Japanese menu items. This spot is always packed every time I go, but customer turnover is relatively quick. Came as a party of 6 on New Year's Day and waited only ~10 min for a table. Their sushi here is not bad. I ordered their 3 roll lunch special, which allows us to pick from ~15 different classic rolls. A lot of menu Set items come with miso soup, which is nice. The Beef Chow Fun was a bit oily, but still pretty good + had tender beef. The salmon in the HK Style Set was a bit dry, but the mild pepper sauce that came with it helped. We chose to have the set with spaghetti, which was a bit sweet, per HK style. Lastly, the Shrimp Tempura roll was solid and always a crowd favorite.

Chicken steak

Good value for the money. I got the chicken steak with tomato sauce over rice. I was able to eat it for two meals. Tasted very cheesy and the chicken was very soft and the sauce flavorful.

HK Tea & Sushi, a Bay Parkway restaurant, uniquely blends a sushi bar and Hong Kong cafe. Portion is big and affordable. I like coming here for their baked rice/spaghetti. I ordered their french toast, portuguese porkchop rice, beef egg sandwich, and their HK milk tea.The French toast and beef egg sandwich were disappointing, with the French toast being bland and the beef sandwich was lacking a satisfying flavor combination. The Portuguese pork chop at HK Tea and Sushi was delicious due to its tender meat, flavorful seasoning, and crispy crust. It's enough to serve 2 people. I went during lunch time and inside was already packed. I also see that many people order takeouts. This is the only place that I know that actually makes delicious baked rice/ spaghetti and I'll be back here again just for it.

Instant noodles with chicken; salty

Pretty obscene experience yesterday. Their credit card machine was down and we saw some people having issues when we sat down but wasn't sure. We were only told when it was time to pay. Mind you, they automatically added a credit card surcharge to the bill before it even gets to you. I've been here before but last evening (5:30pm-6:30pm) was a $h1tshow. They decided to give my toddlers glass cups and one son spilled some water. We started wiping up on our own and I asked if we could have a plastic cup, but one of the waitresses said to use our own water bottles instead. Seriously? My waitress had no idea what was going on and looked defeated even when she came to my table. But that wasn't the problem; she had no idea what was available or not. Came back multiple times with updates that items weren't available...at 5:30pm. The fried pig intestines came out cold and not very crispy. The stir fried instant noodles were very salty. More so than what you would guess for instant noodles. The highlight was the fried sole; which was crunchy and not dry. The sushi boat was ridiculously bad. Slices of sashimi were thin except for the salmon and the rice was a gluey block of rice like 3x the amount of rice a normal piece of sushi would have. Will not be coming back

It used to be pretty good. Lately. It not up to standard. But they are still ok. Price is reasonable. Great selection of food. Yes, I would go back again.

The food is amazing overall. Good size portion, quality, and the taste is excellent. The service is great and fast. The atmosphere feels like I'm back in Hong Kong eating HK style french toast and breakfast. I don't get how this place is rated 3.2 yelp reviews. Overall is a 5 out of 5 stars for me. Highly recommended and hopefully we will be back again.

Eggplant Fish Rice (top) and Bitter Melon Fish Rice (bottom)
Sammi K.

I remember eating at HK Tea and Sushi since I was in elementary school, which was over 15 years ago! The food here is not out of this world, but it's decent comfort food for a low price. I'm surprised their rice dishes are still below $10 each in this economy. I've been here a few times recently and there was once where I found a small fruit fly in the middle of eating my Minced Beef Spaghetti. But given that I couldn't tell if it fell in while eating or was cooked in my pasta, I didn't tell anyone about it. Recently, I've been loving their bitter melon dishes. My favorite is the bitter melon beef. The sauce is a black bean sauce but it's also a bit sweet, which enhances the flavor profile and makes it soooo delicious! The bitter melon is cooked al dente, not too raw and not too soft. I even recommended the bitter melon to a friend who enjoys them as well and he loved it too! I would, however, avoid their fish dishes because they are a sodium bomb for some reason. I've had their eggplant fish and bitter melon fish, and both times I've had to gulp down a lot of water afterward. Maybe they're soaking the fish in salt water to preserve it's freshness? I don't know, but recommend sticking with their other protein choices.

While wandering through Bed-Stuy on a weekday evening, my husband and I decided to try out this new…read moresushi spot. It wasn't terrible--but I had a lot of mixed feelings. Food: 3/5 I'm a huge sushi fan, so I was excited when I saw a deluxe sashimi set on the menu. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark. The scallop was thinly sliced and lacked the rich texture I was hoping for. The salmon and other cuts were decent, but short and oddly shaped--chunky yet small, which made the whole presentation feel a bit off for something labeled deluxe. We also tried to branch out and ordered the short rib entree. For $21, it was shockingly small--definitely a single-person portion, not sharable. I added extra ikura to a salmon donburi bowl for $2, but it was barely a teaspoon's worth--just enough to say it was there. Oddly, the salmon slices in that bowl were thinner than the sashimi we had just eaten, and overall, it left me still hungry even after sharing a maki roll. Lastly, my husband ordered a green salad, which somehow took the entire meal service to arrive. When it finally came, it was just plain romaine, cucumbers, radish, and dressing. For a dinner that clocked in at over $150 (after tip), we definitely left underwhelmed. Service: 3/5 This part wasn't bad, just confusing. We were seated quickly, but the pacing of the meal was strange. Our seaweed salad and soups came out promptly, but the green salad came last, after the hot dishes and nearly after my husband finished eating. Also, a small thing--but when I'm paying $16 for four oysters, I want to know what kind they are. The menu just said "West Coast oysters," but our server couldn't tell us the variety or origin. Not a huge deal, but it added to a general lack of polish that didn't quite match the pricing. I don't think I'd return. For the price, there are better sushi options in Brooklyn with higher quality, better portions, and clearer service. Still, I appreciate new spots opening up in the neighborhood, and I'm always happy to try something new. Hopefully they refine the menu and service with time.

This fit the bill exactly. We started with the salmon belly carpaccio which I'd say isn't really a carpaccio because the salmon isn't sliced as thinly as you'd expect. But! I mention that just to set expectations. Nomenclature aside, it's an excellent appetizer. Served in a truffle and ponzu sauce, the salmon is lightly seared which yields two different textures to the fish. It practically melts in your mouth. Highly recommend this dish. For my entree I went with the trio don, which is 6 pieces of sashimi served over your choice of plain or sushi rice (sushi rice for me). The fish was fresh and flavorful. The portion was perfect for me. My boyfriend ordered a yellowtail roll and enjoyed that as well. We also shared a carafe of the cold house sake. I'd definitely come back and try more items on the menu. It's great for sharing and trying new dishes. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable.

Lots of people came in and out for takeout orders so that seems to be more of the target audience. Service was quick and polite, we were there until 9:30 and they definitely seemed ready for us to be out of there before the 10PM closing time. As for the specialty rolls, there were some pretty creative options - don't shy away from seemingly odd combinations because the flavors really do work well together. I appreciated the rice:fish ratio on all the rolls, the rice was a thin layer letting the flavor of the other ingredients really come through. The plain spicy tuna roll on the other hand was filled with spicy tuna mixed with something crunchy - maybe puffed rice? It seemed to be an unnecessary filler, I would have preferred just fish. I enjoyed the Lovers Dream and Golden Sunset roll the most. While I was debating it while ordering, in hindsight I would definitely get two rolls per person, maybe more if you're really hungry.
