There are so many scrappy noodles places in brooklyn, and if you want a fast, inexpensive meal, this would be one of those spots to visit. You order at the counter and find any available seat there are and wait for your buzzer to go off! Get your food and enjoy! A lot of grandmas and grandpas come here and I get why - unlike dimsum spots, places like these have a big menu and offers various items in addition to scrappy noodles- think dumplings, rice and all for an affordable price and great portions. The menu does get a little confusing especially if you're looking to order the scrappy noodles because there are I think 3 different types that I cant remember. Either way, we got random ones to try. I think they were all pretty good but I do love noodles from other spots more.

Watercress, dried shrimp, beef, shrimp, pork and roast pork rice rolls; fresh made and yummy!

The food is still good; but there are two new women who have been manning the cash register; borderline rude and really cheap. I couldn't finish a giant bowl of congee so asked for a container to take away and they were going to charge me a dollar. A paper cup was 0.25 cents. Mind you I had already tipped them more than that and this has never happened here before. I get maybe 10 cents for a cup or a quarter for a container but that's ridiculous.

I would give this place a 3.5 star. Service is fast no frills. Food comes out in less than 5 minutes. The shrimp rice rolls are terrible. It's about $3 and you get only like 3 tiny pieces of shrimp. The fried cruller with shrimp for about $4 taste a lot better. The cilantro rice roll is good and the plain Cheung fun is decent Medium size is about $4 and it comes with all the sauce already mixed in. Texture is semi soft and the sauce taste average. There's plenty of seating and you don't have to pay tips. Once you pay, you get a buzzer and the place is semi- clean.

The texture of the rice crepe is so fresh and slippery.

The food was amazing, the service was good, but there is nothing special about the atmosphere. It is not a table service type of restaurant. You order your food, and they give you a buzzer. Once the buzzer rings, you go get your food. I'll be back!!

Cured Meat Claypot Rice

A solid and affordable spot. Their rice noodle dishes were excellent -- the crispy shrimp rice rolls stood out in particular. The fish balls and congee were both satisfying with nothing to complain about. Even their clay pot rice was decent, though a bit on the bland side for my taste.

Is this a joke? Flavorless and boss lady is just greedy and cheap. Paid $10 for this beef rice noodle, when putting together my order I asked why just a spoonful of beef (total of 6 tiny pieces), boss lady replied "you should be lucky your even getting this much". Am I not paying for this? Was this free ? Avoid at all cost.

Very freshly made and made per order! Good portion size and price is not bad even after inflation. My kids love their rice noodle with special sauce aka all the sauce except for hot sauce. You have to let the staff ladies know specifically the kinds of sauce you want or do not want in your rice noodles! This will speed up with the ordering process. My kids also love their yummy fried dumplings! The color on the dumpling skin is golden! The dumpling meat is very tasty! I have one kid who only eats the dumpling skin and another kid who only eats the dumpling meat, so getting one order for both kids all works out haha This place gets pretty busy in the weekend, but please be patient with them! Good things come to those who wait! *wink* Note: Price has gone up due to inflation, so ask for the actual price because the menu is outdated!

The so-called "wonton noodle"

We ate at this place for the first time and it was very disappointing. We ordered wonton noodle soup and shrimp rice noodles and both orders came out bad. The wonton did not look like wonton at all, it was much bigger than the typical wonton in size. It basically was a bunch of pork wrapped together in a wonton skin. The noodle was not the egg noodle that most wonton noodle used. Their noodle was white color and it looked like FUN instead of noodle. When I questioned if that bowl was noodle or FUN, the staff seemed to be annoyed. The way how she talked made me feel that they thought I have never seen noodle in the past. The shrimps rice noodles came out with no sauce at all. We put soy sauce on it, but it was still tasteless. This place did not offer table services, so we needed to put the tray and trash away once we were done. Self service wasn't an issue, but their trash can was full and the staff did not seem to care. Street parking was not easy, so I probably would not come back again in the future.

Top: curry fish ball rice noodles (medium), bottom: roast pork rice noodle rolls (stone mill)

Love the concept of a casual restaurant specializing in all types of cherng fun (steamed rice noodle rolls) but I think execution on quality could be a bit better. I came in to eat this past Saturday and ordered the roast pork rice noodle roll (stone mill version) and the curry fish ball rice noodle. For the roast pork one, the guy taking our order recommended the stone mill version so we went with it but I feel like I personally would've liked the steamed version (the kind you find at dim sum) or fabric steamed version (perhaps more soft and silky). Stone mill was just okay; nothing particularly amazing and I'm usually a fan of the dim sum style one anyway. As for the curry fish ball one, the mixed sauces is usually the star of the dish but I found the sauce to be too watery and the fish balls too doughy (fake). Still, I love that they offer 3 styles of these rice noodles here - typically you can only find one style per restaurant. If I lived closer I'd frequently return to try the others. I'm sure they have better ones than the two I've tried. PLUS prices are pretty low, making it a really affordable breakfast/lunch spot!

I will be honest with you. I was afraid to try this place because my friends (multiple) have told me only bad things and the overall average rating on yelp isn't the best neither. Today my husband woke up extra early and decided he wanted some rice rolls. We did not know where we could get some in the area but he suddenly remembered seeing a sign for them here at Fu Yuan. I ordered the fish ball rice noodle (medium size) and my husband ordered two of their stone mill rice noodles. One with pork and eggs and the other with some kind of veggie. The texture of the fish balls were different to the ones I am use to. It's definitely got a bounce to it and the texture is smooth. Not complaining at all but I have also had better along 8th Avenue. The stone mill rice noodles were nice. Thin and smooth. I would definitely come back again and try other things.

Fish congee (front) and pumpkin congee (back) $3.25 each

Ordered a bunch of items for take out. This place has ALL TYPES of rice rolls, it can be a bit overwhelming. The crispy shrimp rice roll was a very unique rice roll, never seen that anywhere else. It had a crunchy layer under the rice roll skin and it was a great combination. I would definitely order that again. The fried dough rice roll is the typical one you can get a dimsum place, but the fried cruller was a bit chewy and not crunchy anymore by the time I ate it. I also tried the chicken and corn rice roll and it was quite tasty. Besides the rice rolls, they also have congee and other dishes. The fish congee was really good and it had a good amount of fish. Also tried the pumpkin congee but this was not for me. It tasted super healthy, more on the plain side and you can definitely taste the pumpkin.

Food was ok. Quick service. Ambiance well lit inside. Friendly staff. Speaks both Cantonese and Mandarin. Their iced honey lemon tea was delicious.

The food was very fairly priced and the portions were huge. We got the pork soup dumplings, pork fried rice, szechuan chicken (which came with white rice), and pad see ew (which though not listed comes with pork, chicken, and shrimp). Everything was solid, but our favorite was the fried rice which had a ton of flavor. I liked the veggies that were in the chicken dish but there were just way too many of them compared to the chicken and I wasn't crazy about the sauce. The pad see ew wasn't made the traditional way I've had it with soy sauce and oyster sauce. It had some sort of orange sauce that tasted closer to a sweet and sour. It wasn't bad it was just not what I was hoping for. The soup dumplings were solid, no complaints there. And the fried rice was great, lots of flavor. Overall, I liked this place especially for the price but I'd probably order different things if I went back.

I found parking down the block and walked over to the restaurant. It seems like more of a delivery spot because there was no one inside sitting at any of the 5 tables. It's a fairly good size space, very simply decorated, mixed with a cool wall resembling a curio cabinet of treasures. I chose a spot in the middle and went to the restroom which was clean and simple. I noticed there were a lot of takeout orders, from delivery services to local folks picking up their regular dinner. I looked over the menu and decided on salt and pepper wings and an order of shrimp. Fried Rice came out first and it was delicious. I even tasted a hint of salted egg yolk mixed into the egg mixture friefried up with the rice that signature crispiness with the little saltiness.... fantastic. The salt and pepper wings were different than the ones i'm accustomed to though the flavor was amazing. It didn't have the fried garlic, peppers, chilis, and onions that i'm accustomed to being in the dish. They were still flavorful, juicy and crisp and I could tell they cooked them fresh. That was much appreciated. I ended up taking half of my food home because I was stuffed.Thank you Msm Ellen and the Crown Garden crew for a tasty solo dinner.

The pork with garlic sauce was absolutely delicious. This one isn't spicy so it didn't numb the mouth. The mapo tofu was also delicious and a little spicier but still not numbing the mouth. Def better to have it with rice though. The green pepper fish was mouth numbing and honestly I couldn't taste much of the flavor because the combination of spice and the hot temperature of the food was overbearing for me. So if you're like me and can tolerate some spicy but not numbing spicy then I would recommend telling them less spicy. Portions were perfect for 5 people (3 males and 2 females) as we ordered 2 of the pork with garlic sauce, 2 mapo tofus, and 1 big green pepper fish dish. We went on a Saturday at 5:30pm so it wasn't too crowded. Overall delicious and the staff were all friendly and very attentive in filling up our water for our spicy meal. It is a chaotic mess for the volume they are trying to do. It's not about adding more manpower, it's about streamlining.
