We came for lunch and it was busy but we got seated quickly. Love the varieties and the staff are super friendly

I got delivery from here a few times and dined in once. Quality is same for either. I do like the ambiance of the restaurant though. It's pretty quiet with a charming modern decor. The food reminds me of Xian's but "cleaner" and "healthier." I always get their broth noodles and sometimes the pita burgers but the latter is not as rich as Xian's. I've tried their zhajiang noodles but it's just alright; the Shanghai restaurant I frequent in Chinatown makes a really delicious version so that's my standard. The eggplant salad and skewered tofu are pretty good but pricey so Ive tried to recreate them at home lol. The eggplant salad is like braised eggplants coated in a savory sauce. The skewered tofu is like grilled packaged fish tofu from supermarkets (that one Korean brand) with a load of Chinese bbq seasoning powder.

I had this bookmarked for a while since passing by. The interior was bright with clean and good size tables of 2 and 4. The menu was a hard choice since a lot of items really caught my attention. I got the beef noodle soup, I feel like they're known for this, but didn't find it the best as the beef was too thin and the broth lacks flavor. The noodles were also didn't have much chew to it. The popcorn chicken was tasty and doesn't have as much 5 spice as some places and it was so fresh. The soup dumplings are absolutely thumbs down; it was left out for a while, hence the dried up skin. My soup dumpling didn't have any soup, also the meat wasn't great. My friend said the mala noodle soup wasn't very flavorful. The star of the show was definitely the chicken and lamb skewers, I usually get it from Flushing, Queens, but I don't need to anymore. It was delicious and will absolutely go back for it. The service was one of the worst, no refill with water for 3 empty cups, didn't have any warm welcoming and assume the table spoke Chinese even though we kept ordering in English.

This spot is reminds me of Chinese tapas. There's a bunch of things to order from. They have skewers, hot and cold appetizers, noodle soup, entree dishes, and more. This spot is great to catch up with friends while having a min feast on the table. We ordered so many things but we didn't feel heavy after eating it all. I'll just list what our favorites were: Zha Jiang noodles- loved the sauce and bouncy noodles Cucumber salad- crunchy and cold, refreshing Woodward mushroom- cold and crunchy, light on seasoning Spicy cumin lamb burger- super flavorful and spicy Chicken feet- LOL! This might be a hit or miss for some. I love crunchy cold chicken feet, it has a slight numbing spice to it. Fries- seasoned with bunch of spices, crunchy but fluffy in the middle!!!! . Overall I would like to come back to try the other entrees. must order = Fries Lamb burger And zha Jiang noodles

Came here on a Sunday evening and we were seated straight away with no reservation! I usually order takeout or delivery but I would say the noodles here definitely taste the best when it's served hot and fresh! Dun Huang has a pretty extensive menu with spicy and non spicy options. You can also ask them to make any spicy dishes more mild. Out of all the dishes we got, my favorites were the eggplant salad which was the perfect appetizer to start off the meal. I also highly recommend the hand pulled noodles and their cumin lamb burger both of which are super flavorful. Not sure if this is limited time but we saw a combo special where you get a signature beef noodle with egg + burger and soda all for only $13.99 which is such a great deal. I would come back just for that deal. Overall, it was a great dining experience. The staff was kind and patient with answering any questions we had. The interior is also spacious and not too crowded. Would come back to dine again!

Dun Huang's newest location in Brooklyn is on a rather quiet stretch of 20th Av in Bensonhurst. I have previously dined at their other locations and this new one is pretty standard. We ordered the C6 mung bean noodles ($6.95), N1 signature Lanzhou beef noodles ($8.50), N2 non-spicy Lanzhou beef noodles ($8.50), and a plate of lamb skewers ($9.95). While the noodle soups were great, I thought the appetizers were quite weak in terms of execution. The mung bean noodles were slippery and had a generous amount of chili oil, but the noodles had an overly firm texture with no bounce. The skewers were also not impressive, though the meat was seasoned well. The lamb was quite lean and tough.

We came for dinner in a Friday night. Street parking only. The restaurant inside is not very big and decor is simple. Overall food is pretty good. We think their small dishes are better than their main courses noodles. We tried a fish noodle and their signature beef noodle. We thought the flavor is just mediocre. But the small dishes are pretty good and not expensive. Signature beef noodle: not much flavor. 4/10 Pickled fish rice noodle: lack of pickle flavor. 5/10 Cucumber: garlicky and fresh. 6/10 Mung bean noodle: this one is yummy. 8/10 Eggplant: flavorful. 7/10 Chicken feet: not thing special. Not a fan of chicken feet. 4/10 Potato salad: 6/10 Rice cake: very crunchy. Yum. 8/10 Skewer: tasty. 7/10

This Dun Huang location has much better business than the 8 Ave Sunset Park location, it seems. Came here for dinner. Good amount of customers during early dinner rush. Only two waiters working but I thought the service was pretty good. They were very accommodating, especially with a baby at the table. Ordered the beef noodle combo that comes with a lamb burger and soda for $15. Pretty good deal. I also had the spicy noodle with pig intestines. The broth was good but it was the pig intestines that had the wow factor. At first bite, I was surprised -- in a good way -- they fried or pan seared the pig intestines after braising it, giving that smoky, crispy taste. Usually when I order pig intestine noodles in other restaurants, they simply just braise it and add to the bowl. But the flavor of the pig intestines here definitely make this bowl of noodles stand out. The lamb burger is always good, but having it freshly made instead of as takeout definitely make it tastier. Overall, this was a delicious and affordable meal. Will come again.

I've wanted to try Dun Huang for a while now but kept putting it off for various reasons. Then, I saw a fellow Yelp friend's photos of their Flushing location and knew I just couldn't put it off any longer. But of course, I cheated and went to their 20th Ave, Brooklyn location instead :D * Lanzhou Beef Noodle Combo 兰州牛肉面套餐 $13.99 (signature beef noodles + egg + burger + soda) Dun Huang has two amazing combos, one with their signature beef noodles for $13.99 and the other with their soy & wine-braised beef noodles for $15.99, and both are great options especially if you want to sample the lot. - Signature Lanzhou Beef Noodle 传统兰州牛肉面 We opted for their Signature Lanzhou Beef Noodle, and although it's advertised with a chili pepper sign and comes with their house-special chili oil, it wasn't all that spicy. The noodles were chewy and bouncy, the broth was mild and lightly flavored, and the beef and radish were surprisingly tasty. - Stewed Pork Burger 猪肉夹馍 * Spicy Cumin Lamb Burger 羊肉夹馍 $4.95 All I can say is this was a beautiful mistake. The server taking our order asked if we wanted pork or lamb, and I answered pork, although I was incredibly confused since I thought she was talking about the noodles. I even asked her, "Isn't it beef?" It wasn't until after that I realized she was referring to the burger and at that point, I was like "sh*t" since my sister and I both wanted to try their Spicy Cumin Lamb Burger. Anyhow, we thought their Stewed Pork Burger was delicious and ended up loving it so much that we decided to order their Spicy Cumin Lamb Burger as well. Surprisingly, we preferred their pork over their lamb and thought the lamb was too gamey despite being so heavily seasoned. * Pork Intestine (2pcs) 肥肠 $3.95 * Beef (5pcs) 牛肉串 $9.95 A bit pricey for their size but incredibly tasty and well-seasoned. * Spicy Curly Fries 天蚕土豆 $7.50 Highly recommend their fries! The fries were crispy and hot on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. We initially asked the staff for ketchup packets, which they were happy to provide, but assured us that we wouldn't need. And from one ketchup lover to the next, trust me, you definitely won't need ketchup (unless you want that bit of sweet tanginess). * Chicken Salad 口水鸡 $8.95 I love all things spicy and this was right up my alley. It was a bit too spicy for my sister (who choked multiple times), but it was perfect for me. I gobbled every last bit up, even the cilantro which I usually hate. **Be sure to ask about their vouchers!

I like their huge oyster (hot and clean to taste) Noodle soup is their signature. I finished the whole big bowl. Waitresses are quick in bringing our food.

Looove this place! I always come here to get the combo deal for $20 after tip and tax per person. It comes with a bowl of noodles (I get the extra wide noodles), a burger and soda. The spicy curly fries are also pretty good. Wish they were more crispier though. The beef burger is super good. The workers are super nice. There was one point where my friends and I came here everyday for 5 days straight. Inside is super clean and tidy.

    Beef Meat Pie

Very decent flavors for the area. Only critique is the soup could be hotter for soup noodle dishes. The Chinese burgers are tasty and there's nothing like it on 86 street, "yet". Overall, I'd come back!

I asked to sub rice for noodles because one of my kids is a rice pot (can't go without rice) and requested extra sauce, which they kindly provided. The set meals are a fantastic deal; a full size entree, an appetizer and a drink for $19-20. An extra order of noodles is $2.50 and it's really double the amount of noodles that comes in your entree. I also ordered their new dish with has abalone and sea cucumber; this is not part of a set meal. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has that umami sweetness that comes from a great soup base and the noodles are delicious as usual. The abalone was tender, the sea cucumber had a bite to it. There was fish maw and wood ear in there as well.

I've tried the fish maw soup rice noodles, and the tom yum soup noodles - both have good broth, but the tom yum was spicy and hot in temperature, so it was hard to eat it quickly. My mom tried the Chicken Fish Maw soup noodles and thought the chicken was not of the best quality, so I'd avoid that in the future. They have set meals that come with a side and drink, but those limit you to three options. I got sold on buying the gift cards to maximize spend, so I have a few more visits. However, the real negative here is the operations. It is a chaotic mess for the volume they are trying to do. It's not about adding more manpower, it's about streamlining. Tables are sitting empty while people are on the waitlist (not due to reservations), orders are going to the wrong tables, to-go orders are in disarray and have to be re-verified on multiple orders, and it takes a long time to get some water. The Yelp waitlist is useless here - wait was supposed to be 5-10 minutes and it turned into almost 40. All this could have been avoided with more planning, better organization, and training.
