Seriously, this is no small achievement, as I have a typical fear of looking stupid on the dance floor. After learning how to move, and direct a partner, I can confidently pair up with my Wife and enjoy the music completely. The studio spaces are beautiful, very large and partitioned during the week, and fully open during competitions and the weekend socials. Socials here are a great way to meet new people and practice among people who are at your level, and even beyond your level. Everyone is friendly and pleasant, and it's the safest venue for you to practice what you've learned. We initially took group lessons at some ridiculously low rate. They have three tracks for Salsa/ Latin dance, and we took all three tracks in order. I would say that's 18 weeks of practice, and we got much better. My Wife already knew how to move, so this was in essence remedial instruction for me and partnering lessons for us both. You do not stay with one partner, so you are forced to call up adaptability early, which is a good learning principle. The instructors were very warm, friendly, knowledgeable individuals who put you at ease; in only one case did I ever see another student get visibly frustrated by the lesson, so 36 trips and only one bad day is remarkable. The private lessons, which are extremely worthwhile if you are far below your nominal partner's level of expertise, are affordable and a tremendous asset. You get better, quicker, and the one-on-one instruction is always better than a group class for working on your specific deficiencies. So, to wrap up, great venue, great people, affordable lessons, and a real sleeper hit with the Friday night socials. The lessons cost what they cost, and if anything additional costs more they're the first to tell you immediately. From a business standpoint this is how other dance studios should strive to be like. Let your reputation precede you (this place is run by a great family), value your clients, and slowly but surely they'll come streaming in... and stay! The only reason why I don't dance here myself is that I use a private instructor in the local area. We do use this studio often though, as they have tons of floor rental space. Group lessons can be mixed here though. The ones that are filled are wonderful. They're taught by instructors that like to push people. If you get with a group of people that is just there to mess around though, this can be a somewhat miserable experience, much like anything, Private lessons here are great, though. The instructors have decades of experience in teaching and know exactly how to simplify and layer according to the student's abilities. If you're new to dance and want to learn? Go here. I can recall falling on my head numerous of times right in-front of the teacher, and it wasn't until the end of class when I ran out crying to my mom that the teacher would say " I didn't even know you fell ". Completely unsafe and unprofessional. I could even recall one time in an acro class, I accidentally fell onto the owners niece, and the owner got in my face and screamed at me that I could have " killed her niece "? I was 7 years old.

Briana was so kind and wonderful on the phone. I called on a Sunday and she pulled the potential sizes ahead of time. Originally, I was not going to bring my son. Briana encouraged me to bring him in order to have him try them on in person. I am so glad I listened! My ETA was 12:01pm and the store was due to close at noon. Briana said no worries, she would stay in order for me to try the shoes on. WOW! By the time we found parking it was 12:05pm we scored a great spot a block away) and we called Briana to advise we were walking up now. She was so sweet; so personable and assured us that she would stay open for us to arrive. Turns out my son was a larger and wider size and Briana had just the size and width that we needed! The teachers are welcoming, patient, and attentive, having the attitude of "there are no stupid questions", and they are encouraging even to those who have "two left feet." During class, instructors will often provide personal tips to individuals to improve or correct their form, sometimes going so far as attaching ankle weights to correct bouncy students (Me, never!) or tying them together to learn to dance in close space. Such creative approaches can make points in ways that are more fun and impactful than straightforward instruction. Other students are happy to help during practices, and private instruction is available if you want to really drill down and perfect your technique. You should know that Argentine Tango actually consists of three main forms: "tango", "milonga" & "vals" (waltz). Triangulo offers instruction in all three, every week, which makes it stand out from other schools. This is important because at social tango dances music for all three forms is played, so having exposure to each variation will avoid your being left out of a dance not knowing what to do. Being able to dance waltz weekly beats occasional workshops. I highly recommend the "Intensive" series (Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced) which include instruction in multiple forms of tango. The classes provide time afterwards to practice what you've learned. This is important for getting better - practice is what gets the movements into your body. Speaking of which, the school has dedicated weekly sessions to gather with classmates and outside dancers to practice what you've learned and try new things, and also regular social gatherings to meet and dance at. Tango dancing is a great way to get your body moving, meet new people, and escape the grind of everyday life. He is a good instructor mostly and was well organized. He groups people though at the end in categories 1, 2, and 3. He changed me from a 2 which happened randomly to a 3. My partner at the time asked me all concerned if he was a 3 also. Group 3 was last and seemed to be the least strongest but who knows. So now I have a complex thinking I am the worst. Thanks Billy! In addition, Imperial Ballroom or whoever video tapes these lessons so you will be all over the internet afterwards whether you like it or not. I am on Instagram more times in a minute segment than I care to count. So apparently I was designated Group 1 for that. Do I get paid for that video? In general though this dance space is OK and has fun lighting for social dancing. However, it is on a divey level and not considered upscale if you are renting. Also bathrooms are still filthy as first reviewer wrote so not an improvement 5 years later as owner is leading to believe in that response.
