Pros: Neat and clean dining area. Cons: Food was meh. Service was meh. Was very pricey for portion size and food quality.

Came here for lunch and got seated quickly. The interior is decorated cute, but the corner we got put in was very cramped. We were right against the backs of other customers and had no room to move. We got started with chicken karaage, which was fine, I enjoyed the sauce that it came with. We had decided on ordering the fuddo yama deluxe and the red miso deluxe. Both claim to come with additional toppings, however I found the distribution to be uneven. The fuddo yamma deluxe had lots of bamboo shoots and other toppings, but the pork that it came with was essentially all fat. The broth was very milky and we found it to be overly salty. The red miso deluxe, on the other hand, was lacking in bamboo shoots but the pork was great. Unfortunately, the broth was also very salty and heavy in this one.

Personally, best ramen in OR. Amazing comfort food made with craftsmanship. -- Personalmente, el mejor ramen de Oregón. Una comida reconfortante increíble, elaborada con maestría. -- 個人的にはオレゴン州で一番美味しいラーメンです。 職人技が光る、心温まる絶品料理。 Every-time I'm here I really enjoy my experience , thanks to John and Stacy for the service

    Too fat on meat.

I was visiting Portland and ate in restaurant. People are nice but the meat (cha shao) was 95% fat which can not eat.

Tonight, I came to Fuddo yama Ramen & Izakaya, which is located 4 minutes from my hotel. There are plenty of free parking lots around the store. As soon as I entered the store, the staff talked to me and I sat down. It's my first time here, but the store is decorated with many nostalgic Japanese items. The music is also a familiar hit song, and I can't help but hum it. Loll I asked the staff about the popular ramen and ordered cha-shu fried rice. Fuddo yama delax ramen has a lot of ingredients and the taste is just right, so it was good that the noodles were firm. After eating ramen, I was full and took home the fried rice. What I like the most is the atmosphere of the store, the robot, and the staff's service.

Great service! Tried their black garlic ramen and Red miso ramen. Both of their ramen were flavorful and absolutely loved them. Their vegetarian dumplings were so flavorful and the best I have ever tried. Their sakura mocktail was so beautifully presented and refreshing. Highly recommend this place for ramen. Their ambiance is so colorful and chic.

Super cute atmosphere , covered in Japanese characters and cute art they had Pokemon on the tvs which was super cute, large menu with a lot of different choices for everyone's tastes, my boyfriend got a black garlic ramen and I got spicy teriyaki chicken and we both really liked our food !! But he also really likes the pesto ramen !! Super nice staff definitely bringing friends here !!!

The food was pretty good and service was friendly. My husband and I only waited maybe 20 minutes for a table on a Sunday night. I was excited to try this place after I saw good reviews and photos of ramen with corn (I love it with corn but I don't always see that!) but once we got there I found out they don't do ANY substitutions. I would have swapped mushrooms for corn but they said no. I'm not paying $2 to ADD corn when I don't even want to eat one of the existing toppings. It makes no sense that you can't sub toppings. It's not like it's mixed in.... And $2 for tiny scoop for CORN is outrageous. I ended up not even having ramen

The decor here is pretty but I'm finding some of the care going into the food is very questionable from the kitchen. I've been here 3 times to test this theory with different groups of friends. I have had curry so many times in my life and even in Japan countless times. This is disappointing to write. All 3 times food was served extremely lukewarm, barely tepid. Almost cold one time. The curry sauce here is made with pureed almost minced chicken meat into the sauce, hence the grainy texture. The sauce isn't anything amazing? It feels like it's lacking flavor. The rice came out mushy everytime, why is a Japanese place making mushy short grain rice? The food has been served barely room temp. I'm not sure if they freeze their sauce and reheat it but it needs to change. DO BETTER. Especially at almost $20 for curry with chicken katsu. Serve hot temperate curry! The chicken katsu is okay and kinda bland but it's best to pair it with the curry sauce. The fried squid legs are clumped together and were semi undercooked inside. My suggestion would be to split the squid legs one more time before frying. This time I got the shrimp tempura and was disappointed to find that it was made with chopped shrimp instead of a giant shrimp. It was okay but the texture was not what I was expecting. Takoyaki - was basic and you can't mess this up. Tempura veggie cakes - not bad but needs a better dipping sauce than mayo. I think this place borders on American Japanese, a lot of the food isn't authentic at all. The decor and anime weeb culture is so on point for fans of Japanese anime culture but the food needs to do better if they will stay around long term. This place is inside a weird plaza next to a laundromat, location is kinda of sketch. Overall I do think this place is a cute concept and I wanted to love it (why do you think I came 3 times), but each time I was disappointed by the lacking quality in their food. Their waitress was super kind and she made the experience worth 3 stars.

    Chicken Teriyaki

Best Ramen in Portland! The black garlic ramen and teriyaki chicken are both amazing. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The ambiance and decorations are super cool as well. Highly recommend!

Cute place! Staff was nice. Ramen was good, broth was rich and flavorful, noodles were a nice texture. The cha-su was a bit bland, it was torched but maybe not marinated. Overall I would visit again.

Definitely stop for great food and ambiance! Absolutely loved this place. Inside is anime themed, all the wall are decorated with different images and figurines from shows and movies. They use a robot to bring you out your meal (more of a gimmick, but adds some fun to the delivery of the food). Service was quick and helpful. We very much enjoyed the food. My wife is a big ramen fan and we have eaten ramen all over and I would say this is definitely up there with the top I've had.

3.5/5 - we started with the hot kaarage which had a good flavor but the batter did not hold up to the sauce. parts of the chicken was still crispy but a majority of it was soggy and falling off the chicken. red miso was great and they don't hold back on the spice for this one! noodles had a good bite. I wished the broth was served hotter though and not just warm. the tonkotsu was pretty good, I thought it was too porky but my boyfriend said it was good.

Staff: got our orders. Food: I got their Tori Paitan with char siu for $14. The price was reasonable with the portion they give. The char siu was fatty and the egg was runny. It was piping hot and the soup base was not bad. I didn't feel thirsty afterwards. The noodles were cooked nicely. It is a little further away for me just to eat ramen and nothing was outstanding to me. In fact, I felt a little rushed and couldn't catch up with my friends because of the way the store was set up and few spots. We didn't want to keep chatting because that means other customers would have to wait. So, if you want to quickly eat some ramen, come here.

I can definitely appreciate the effort it takes to make ramen, but it's not exactly a well-balanced, healthy dish, more like a hangover cure... With that being said! For me to give Lucky Ramen FIVE stars is a huge feat! My personal number 1 go-to is the Veggie Ramen w/kale noodles, spicy level 3. Dont knock it til you try it! The broth is the true definition of umami, it's savory, filled with enoki mushrooms, bok choy, bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, and a soft boiled egg. It's nothing short of filling! The kale noodles taste just like regular ramen noodles and to think that it has extra fiber, yes please. If the thought of a dish being vegetarian is a turn off for you, next best option is the Tonkotsu ramen. The broth is flavorful, rich, and they don't skimp on the meat and other ingredients either! It's located in the Timberland Town Center and manages to perfectly balance a modern, trendy vibe with authentic, traditional flavors. Here is why it's a 5-star standout for me: The Broth (The Soul of the Bowl): I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, and the broth was incredible--creamy, rich, and clearly simmered for hours. It has that deep, milky consistency that only comes from true craft. If you like heat, the Spicy Miso has a perfect, layered kick that doesn't just overpower your taste buds. The Noodles: They get the texture exactly right. You can choose your firmness, and they have that perfect "chew" that holds onto the broth beautifully. The "Bites": True to their name, the appetizers (bites) are not to be skipped. The Pork Gyoza are perfectly seared, but the Karaage (Japanese Fried Chicken) is the real winner--juicy on the inside and impossibly crunchy on the outside. The Chashu: The braised pork belly is melt-in-your-mouth tender. They give it a quick torch sear before serving, which adds a beautiful smoky aroma to the whole bowl. The Vibe: The restaurant is clean, sleek, and has a great energy. The staff is welcoming and incredibly fast, making it a perfect spot for a quick lunch or a cozy dinner. Pro Tip: Don't forget to add a Marinated Soft-Boiled Egg (Ajitama). They cook them to perfection here with that jammy, custard-like yolk that takes the ramen to the next level. Beaverton has a lot of food options, but Koku is easily at the top of my list for comfort food. I'll be back again and again!
