Came here with a friend for an early dinner around 5pm on a Thursday and there was only one other table occupied when we got there but quickly filled up later. The space was beautiful with basket lights, neon light signs, and KPOP music videos playing on the TV. The ladies serving us were so friendly and helped us decide on what to order by explaining the menu. They were also so attentive throughout the meal and check out is table side which was great. We got the Assorted Katsu to try some of everything and the Katsu Curry Udon because my friend never had Japanese curry before (she loved it!) Everything was fresh made to order in house with different sauces for dipping and kimchi and pickled radish to balance out the fried goodness. It's no surprise that our favorite was the OG pork Katsu but the cheesy one, chicken, and the shrimp were all crispy and juicy. It looked like they had a lot of other specials too so we will definitely be back to try more things! The only thing is the parking lot is a little funky getting in and out but it's also next to Bobadochi so you can get yourself a sweet mochi donut treat after a yummy lunch or dinner here. Highly recommend!
We had a full meal (and leftovers) here. This place is clean and bright with fun vibe. Staff were friendly and attentive. They took time to explain everything on the menu and all the sauces. Thank you. They made katsu fresh in the house, so we tried Assorted Kutsu with a side of curry. Big portion that we can easily share or take home the leftovers. King Don Kutsu was a very big piece of pork katsu which again we can totally share and still have some leftover! Spicy pork bibimbop was delicious and Kimchi Nabe was yummy. All dishes came with rice and salad and various sauces. The complimentary mochi ice cream was a nice finish for our meal.
After seeing this one tiktok, we had to stop in the next time we were in beaverton. When you enter you wait to be seated & although some mentioned about ordering at the counter, we got ours taken at our table. They run a smaller menu featuring Korean street food. We both went with the katsu curry chicken & pork. When our food arrived, it was a nice surprise to see it came with soup, cabbage, & some other Bandhan. Pretty sure thay was mentioned at the top of the menu, we just didnt read. A little different from the Japanese katsu we're used to, but we both really liked it. That was also our first time having Korean curry. A little on the sweeter side, but still had a little spice at the end. For $19.99, Id say it was worth. Both came with a good amount of meat & all the sides. Definitely try it out.
Korean style katsu, slightly different from Japanese katsu. Got the regular yumee katsu and it comes with a udon broth cup, shredded cabbage (with thousand island sauce), kimchi, and sweet pickled daikon. The breading is similar to Japanese katsu however it is tenderized mechanically from the holes inside of it. It's good and dense. For the price $19 - it's a good meal set. The place is tight so be prepared to have narrow walking space. You pay before eating which is nice. The vents here aren't that strong so when you leave you will smell like fried food. Service was awesome and the Thai lady (I think) who has a cute doggo, was super friendly and personable. She gives off amazing mama energy!
We stopped in on a busy Saturday around dinner time and were seated immediately. It was pretty full though, so there may be a wait on weekends. The service was attentive and they answered any questions we had about the menu. They start everyone out with a little house pancake for free, which is such a nice touch. We all absolutely loved it. It was sweet and kind of savory and just delicious. My daughter and I went with the Assorted Katsu set. I love a big tray full of options! The miso soup was good and we all really enjoyed the kimchi, both radish and cabbage. I also liked the cabbage salad but would have preferred the option to make my own salad dressing. My favorite katsu was the shrimp and I would probably just get that next time. It was light and crunchy and I loved it with the tartar sauce. I also enjoyed the pork with the katsu sauce. I wanted to love the cheese but it was super sized, it was even too heavy for my chopsticks. I wish it was about half the size so it was more crispy and melty. My husband had udon with katsu which he enjoyed. I do love that they offer lots of options and even a giant king sized katsu which a lot of people seemed to order. This is worth a try if you're in the area. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back!
Really enjoyed the.curry and chicken katsu. The curry was good with a lot of flavoring in it. The katsu was crispy and juicy after biting into it. There's a lot of seating there so makes it easy to find a seat. Convenient to order at the counter and then they bring it out to you.
We went here on a Saturday afternoon and were expecting a long wait based on previous reviews but we were seated promptly upon arrival. We were seated at the table near the door but it still felt quite cramped and it was difficult to pull out the chair to be able to sit. Service was quick and efficient but our interaction didn't feel very personable. I've had my fair share of Japanese katsu so I was intrigued on how Korean katsu would compare. The katsu was a lot flatter but the pork they used still delivered a juicy and tender bite. The rice cakes also had a nice chewy texture to complement the katsu. It did have a decent amount of spice but I was able to still enjoy it. I appreciated how the katsu was served as a complete meal with a variety of sides that justifies the price point.

The service also felt rushed even though the restaurant was not busy. It may just be the way the manager works, but it felt quick and a little abrupt. When our bibimbap came out, she immediately explained how to mix it rather than asking if we had any questions about the dish, which felt a bit rushed to me. The food was good, as expected, but nothing out of the ordinary. When you grow up eating katsu, you naturally become more critical of it. It was good, but I would not say it was the best I have ever had. The staff were very friendly though, and very attentive about refilling water just like many reviews mentioned. The sides were good as well. Overall the food was good, but not something that would make me rush back unless I was specifically craving katsu. If you have never had katsu before, this would be a great place to try it. I would give the food 5 stars, but -2 stars for the points I mentioned. Side note: many reviews said you have to order at the counter, but they actually took our order at the table. We went on a Saturday around 2 pm.
Crispy katsu and pretty big portions! Wish the sides were just a tad bigger because I ran out of katsu sauce quickly. Service was great! Our server was new I think but she was so attentive and nice. The environment felt very casual.
Came in after 1pm on a Sunday, the restaurant was less than half full. We were seated quickly, the restaurant still has resemblence of the previous Korean restaurant, with some new fixtures, signs, and displays. The tables were a bit squeezed, so the place felt a bit cramped. Menu is pretty straight forward and we ordered a three different items for the three of us. The portions are pretty big, and all of the katsu were fried to perfection. Overall the food are delicious, the sides pair well with the katsu, the curry is also delicious. It was a bit odd to be presented with the check immediately after ordering, hard to know what the service is like and tipping first. All in all, good food, and we will likely be back again.
Located in a complex with plenty of parking space. When you enter, there's plenty of seating and you get this upbeat vibe from the K-Pop music. This place is still fairly new from what I was told so when I came, they had me sit down, order, and pay all in one go before my food came out. Personally, would prefer to do that after that way I may tip accordingly rather than prior. But to digress, now I wish I tipped more because the service was great. They made sure to constantly check in with me throughout my meal. They were super friendly and answered any questions I had. I got the King Don Katsu and it had so much crunch to it that it got pretty messy. There was panko everywhere and I felt bad as I was eating the dish. The dipping sauce was warmed up and had a savory, tangy taste which had me using up almost all the sauce. It was nice that it also came with soup, salad, pickled veggies, and rice. I wish the portioning for the sides matched the size of the Katsu because I ran out of a lot of it before making it through the whole dish. Overall a really great experience and would definitely come back and try the other dishes whenever I'm in town.
This place is incredible! The staff are also soo friendly! They seat you at a table and then you order at the counter when you're ready. The rest is full service so they'll bring the food out and check on you. The Katsu, the best. The curry was very tasty. If you get the curry Udon, definitely get extra curry on the side We have dined in and ordered take out. Our orders came out quick! The take out order was packaged very well and was done in only 10- 15 minutes! Everything here is super fresh and it's probably the best Katsu you are going to get in the area. Definitely some of the best I've had. The meat is very flavorful and tender. The only thing bad I can say is that the seating is a bit cramped. This place does get busy but I didnt have to wait for a table during dinner time which was nice but the tables are very close together.
Came here with friends and we had a lovely time! The katsu was the perfect amount of crispy texture and the cabbage salad added a nice and refreshing mix-up to the meal. I personally got the shrimp curry katsu udon and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The curry wasn't that salty and the udon was just the right texture. I do wish that the portion size of the shrimp katsu was bigger because it wasn't that filling but the other dishes offered that my friends got did seem more filling. You order at the counter and service was pretty attentive.

Finally got around to trying Yumee Katsu! It was pretty busy but we got were able to get seated and order pretty fast. The staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered the Toppoki Katsu and the Curry Katsu. Both came with banchan (sides) and some miso soup. The cutlets were tender and had a satisfying crisp. Both the curry and topokki sauce were solid but nothing special. The sides as well as the miso soup were also very good. Overall very solid place if you're looking for some katsu. We paid $20 for each plate + tip which is very reasonable for the service and quality of the food. Will be coming back next time we're craving some katsu! read more

Super cool spot off the highway been here a couple times super friendly and kind staff very energetic! Food was yummee for sure for a fantastic price ur getting a lot to be honest definitely worth it Seating is nice and clean too everything well taken care of! Was given a complementary dessert just for being a customer! Unfortunately not on the menu but I wish it was! read more
this reminded me almost like some of the katsu restaurants i had back in bangkok, where they were served alongside of some cabbage. i heard some mixed reviews about this, but was pleasantly surprised with the overall quality of it all. although i am not a bit eater, i got the cheese katsu, and shrimp curry katsu (to-go). the side veggies and kimchi/radish that came with it was phenomenal - and the food came out super promptly. truly fast casual! its best to eat things fresh here, given the nature of the dishes (being deep fried) but everything was pretty tasty. the rice was a bit iffy/undercooked imo. dining in here is probably your best bet. the staff is super friendly and accommodating. you likely wont be disappointed! read more

I've been eying this place for a while but after being not too sure what to eat we ended up going here! It was a great idea as the katsu was amazing! I'm a big fan of curry udon especially after having it at Marugame Udon and this place made it just as good as Marugame did! The katsu also paired wonderfully with the Curry Udon and the side dishes were a nice touch! The service was a little weird as it was a get seated but order at the front, but the employees were very nice and made sure we understood how the system worked. I will definitely be coming back again to try their cheese katsu! read more
It starts with the Katsu just perfectly crisp on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside - i could not get enough!! The portions are huge and comes with different sides , of which, the soup absolutely stole the show - looked plain but tasted amazing . Do not sleep on the salad either The service is so pleasant and they are also very efficient Will be back for more !! read more
Environment: This used to be Koba Grill but now it's this! There are lots of tables and it had lots of bright lights and kpop MVs as I was there. Food: I ordered their original katsu plate and paid a little bit more for their cold soba. The cold soba was very good and it was bouncy. To my surprise it was not that salty (you usually dip it in). The katsu was a good portion and it was fried nicely. They were nice thick slices but was on the bland side. That's why they provided salt and katsu sauce for you on the side. It also had daikon radish and kimchi, too. We went right when it opened so there was no line but when we finished eating, it was fully packed. read more
Yumee Katsu has three different katsu types: Korean katsu, Japanese katsu, and fusion katsu. For the Japanese-style katsu, I think it's just okay because the breading tends to fall off bottom side and the meat is sometimes less soft/juicy. But the Korean and fusion katsu options are really good with very tasty sauce. Staffs are friendly, and the food comes out fast. The atmosphere is lively with pop music. When I visited, it was crowded, but the space is not small, so I didn't have to wait in line. However, i can see that there might be some wait during weekends. read more

A pretty neat place that serves katsu dishes along with some other Korean style dishes. The prices are reasonable with a healthy portion. I tried the Katsu Curry Udon as I was curious about that dish. The katsu was prepared well with a crispy exterior texture and the interior was nice and moist. I did enjoy the dish and look forward to trying some of the other items next time. The service was also friendly and quick. read more

New katsu place in town! Parking is pretty tight especially if you plan to come during peak hours. There's adequate seating to accommodate different party sizes. Not really stroller friendly though but you can easily place your car seat in the bench seat if anything. Order your food up at the desk, grab your number, and pick your seat. We decided to get the assorted tempura to try out their variety and the shrimp katsu curry. Cheese katsu: deep fried cheese with I think ham? I would say if you pair it with a sprinkle of their salt that they serve on the side, it isn't bad. But it's just straight cheese. Chicken katsu: the breast itself wasn't seasoned, so you definitely need to sauce it up or sprinkle a little of their side salt. The chicken isn't dry surprisingly. It's a huge breast! So the issue for us was that it was just very bland and they only give you a little bit of Katsu sauce on the side. Shrimp Katsu: was just straight shrimp tempura. Nothing special there. All their plates are served with rice, salad, soup, and, sauces. Expect their noodle dishes. Which they have udon, soba, and tteokboki. I would say, not bad of a katsu place. But we will say we've had better katsu. It is very aesthetically pleasing and fun! They have a huge "king katsu" which is the size of two hands put together. Such a fun experience. Oh my gosh I came in on a whim after seeing a post on Instagram and boy am i glad I did. The portions are HUGE! Even eating and sharing it with another person we couldn't finish. The portions were amazing, and so was the quality. The katsus had a great crisp that wasn't too heavy or thick. It was very flaky. The kimchi has a great flavor. additionally you get a fish cake soup on the side that was delicious! I got the tteokboki katsu, while my partner got the fish katsu. I think my favorite was the fish katsu because the fish they used was so flaky and plump! The tteokboki katsu was good but I think the pork could've had a littleee more flavor added to it. But that's very slight. :) We were seated and given menus and waters right away when we walked in without any sort of reservation. There were a lot of families that came in. Lots of seating available especially for larger groups! Ample parking available in the lot. Would definitely come back here again and try more menu items. Super yummy! read more

This review is strictly about the food. For a $19.99 dish, they give you barely any curry with the Chicken Curry Katsu. In hindsight, I should've taken it as a red flag that the restaurant was nearly empty. There were only 2 occupied tables and 1 of them was 2 employees having a late lunch or early dinner (not sure) I will not come back again or recommend anyone. read more
Had to try this new katsu place out since there aren't that many in the Portland area. We ordered the assorted katsu & the katsu curry udon. The katsu was nice & crispy and service was great. Our water was always filled and we were seated immediately when we arrived. They played K-pop music videos on a giant TV which was a vibe. Overall we liked it and would come back! read more

I was super excited to try this restaurant because I love katsu and udon curry!!! The restaurant is pretty tiny but they manage to fit a lot of people. You sit down first and then you order up front. The staff are super friendly. They bring you a pretty large portion of food with a side of salad and soup. I ordered the Katsu with curry udon while my husband ordered the katsu with curry. The katsu is tender and the udon is cooked perfectly Al dente. I'd highly recommend! Will come back. read more
Seating is limited but even during the Saturday lunch rush there is enough turnover where people don't have to stand and wait around. After looking at the menu, you go to the counter to order and pay. There is an automatic 18% gratuity for parties of 5 or more. The food is delivered to your table pretty quickly. Each protein was well battered, golden fried and crispy while still maintaining a moist inside. We saw a few other parties get the King Don Katsu and that definitely looks like it would feed two people. Unlike what is common in other Asian establishment, there is adequate staffing. The staff was attentive, checked in to ensure enough plates, silverware and waters were refilled more than once. It was a good experience, the kids enjoyed it so we will be back again. read more
Korean style katsu place. Very good and reminiscent of the Korean "style," as opposed to the more traditional Japanese style. Differences are the side and the sauce styles, along with little things here and there. Anyway, of all the "standard" katsus I've had in Portland (about 4 or so), this seems to be the closest to what I've had in LA or Seoul. It's good, overall. And they have a pretty extensive menu. THIS PLACE WAS SO INSANELY GOOD! Their katsu was perfectly crispy, tender and juicy, while the tteokbokki had the perfect amount of spice and sweetness. I havent had katsu this good since I visited japan. The staff were also very nice and seated us immediately. Highly recommend visiting here! read more
Today's visit was less impressive as the chicken in the chicken katsu curry was sliced so thin. Maybe less than 1/4 inch! For $19.99, I expected a decent piece of chicken. But the flavor and service were worthy of five stars. read more
Came here again a week after my first review- few things to note that I got wrong the first time: if you're dining in, wait to be seated at a table. Then when you are ready to order you can go up to the counter. If you're doing takeout then you can go to the counter directly. I ordered the chicken katsu curry again and the crispy texture was consistent. I do think they gave a few spoonfuls less of the curry this time, but still enough to enjoy. read more
what a cute and lovely place! it had a very casual atmosphere and i love that they play kpop and have music videos playing from the tv. you grab a seat and order at the counter. despite this, the workers were super attentive and made sure we were doing well frequently. the service here definitely made the experience special. everyone was so kind and genuine. i got the curry katsu. i appreciate how they cut it into thin slices, which made the texture shine. i love all the sides it came with, especially because it balanced with the katsu. the portion was fairly sized, i would expect to take home a bit of leftover. my only complaint is that the curry was a bit too salty for my liking. they have such interesting dishes, i would love to come back and try all the other ones! read more
The food is good, the service is good, really nothing not to like about this place. The breading was super crispy, and done very well. Not to mention that the portion sizes are also huge. We ordered the king don Katsu and the assorted Katsu which was more than enough for three adults and a baby. Would definitely eat here again if I am in the area. read more

Yumee is YUM - EE I ordered the katsu curry and shared the cheese katsu with my partner. Small stomachs beware, the portions here are generous. But don't worry about a loss in quality, because the juicy, crispy katsu smothered in velvety curry was absolutely delicious. Sandwiching the curry with a hefty bite of fried cheese is pure indulgence and I am here for it. The neon and modern vibes bring a great freshness to classic dishes. We went during their opening week so there may have been some growing pains that they've worked out. Service had been a little awkward upon being seated and then going to order. We ordered the tteokbokki katsu. The portions were huge so I was glad that the two of us shared this. The sides that came with it were also very generous. The meat was tender but the breading was crispy. The rice cakes had been underdone and wasn't particularly flavourful. I will come back to try their curry though! read more
Stopped in on a Friday around 5:30 and it was pretty busy already. Order at the counter and look for a table. It took a bit to get our food but we had beers while we waited. Once the food arrived it was worth the wait. Delicious curry, fish katsu, and my favorite was the cheese katsu. Kids enjoyed their udon. The mini size is cute. The customer service was outstanding! We will definitely be back. read more
