This is what's going in the garbage.

Just ordered $90 worth of sushi, I got four of the most popular expensive roles that they had. The wait for takeout was quoted at 30minutes and it took an 1 hour 20 minutes. There was other customers that were canceling their orders, and I should've known better and canceled mine. I have had sushi at hundreds of places and I can probably say this is the absolute worst. Honestly, not one role was good. You know it's bad when a sushi lover has to literally spit out the roll. Literally throughout the entire order. Except the miso soup, which was just kind of normal miso. And my son ate the shrimp tempura, but he's three years old and my other son ate the white rice. The sushi was just complete garbage not fresh tasted fishy. I am not one to complain. In fact I have never once complained and this is my very first yelp review but I just have to warn people that this is garbage and you are better off going to a fast food place. Such a bummer considering $90 is a lot to spend and to just throw away in the garbage.

Great atmosphere and an amazing first visit! Loved the cozy atmosphere, it made the dining experience even better. The quality of the nigiri here is really great, with generous portions and fresh fish. The fatty salmon, salmon, and yellowtail sushi were standout favorites, highly recommend them! We also tried their jjamppong (spicy noodles), but it wasn't as good as I expected. That said, they have a great selection of rolls, but the sushi was definitely the highlight. Looking forward to coming back to explore more of their menu, including the hot dishes and other sushi options. Service was amazing despite the restaurant being busy, the staff was very attentive, friendly, and prompt. Definitely a place worth revisiting!

Best lunch ever!! Fresh fresh Sushi Combo

What a wonderful place!! It's the ideal sushi spot!! Amazing fresh, I could go on and on!! Plus the lunch prices are soooooo goooooooddd!! Also cat forget the kind service, and the perfect decor and atmosphere for whatever you're hoping to achieve. I would come back to this place again and again!!

Decided to switch things up and try the new location vs our usual trip to 185th. We recently went to 185th and got Chirashi and my wife asked for no salmon and said put whatever else in there instead. Waitress came back asking about an up charge for tuna and basically anything but salmon. Begrudgingly we got the salmon but left scratching our heads as salmon and tuna are similar in cost on nigiri on the menu. New location is clean and fresh and the staff is super friendly. Ordered 2 rolls and albacore nigiri and a 3 item bento with tempura, baked mussels and spicy Chicken. Spicy chicken was a little spicier than normal but all good, Delicious and the staff was amazing.

I have not been to a Mio Sushi in well over a decade! We decided to try this new location and it was a great place to meet up with friends and with kids. There is something for everyone. The fish was fresh and really amazing service. We ordered some nice sparkling sake and the calamari was a great starter. FYI - If you have been to the older location off 185th & Walker, this one feels completely different!

The Bento dinner was outstanding! We selected three items, spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll and a Beef Yakiniku entree. The Poke salad (with Salmon) was also delicious, over a bed of cucumber and seaweed salad. This restaurant is close to my house, so I think I will be a regular!

Not a fancy place, but the food was good and pricing was fine. I would definitely eat here again.

A great place for sushi! This restaurant has all the different kinds of Japanese cuisine with bento boxes, ramen, and of course sushi itself. When I entered, the ambience was quite welcoming and I was quickly seated without delay. They told me I could sit anywhere and I began to order the spider and eel roll. After tasting both rolls, they were very delicious. The pricing was definitely more on the expensive side, but the food is worth it. Definitely coming back next time!

Very good, especially that the fish wasn't so cold that the flavor is subdued, like most places.

Since we had our dog with us, we ordered everything to go and enjoyed it back at our hotel just down the street. Just a heads up if you're planning the same, there wasn't any outdoor dining available. Being from the SF Bay Area, one of the first things we looked for was Har Gow and Siu Mai, but they weren't labeled the way we're used to. After asking, we found out the Crystal Shrimp Dumplings are their Har Gow, and the Shrimp Siu Mai contains pork, which was exactly what we were looking for. We ordered two of each. We also ordered two Beef Chow Fun, Combination Fried Rice, Eggplant with Minced Pork, Sweet & Sour Spare Ribs, and three pear sodas. The dim sum absolutely hit the spot. The Har Gow and Siu Mai were well seasoned, nicely prepared, and exactly what we had been craving. The Beef Chow Fun was another winner. We were glad we ordered two because we found ourselves reaching for it more than the fried rice. The Eggplant with Minced Pork was also delicious. The eggplant was cooked perfectly -- tender without becoming mushy -- and the seasoning was right on point. I'm also glad we changed our order from the House Special Spare Ribs to the Sweet & Sour Spare Ribs. Unlike many versions, these weren't battered and fried, so the pork maintained a great texture while still being coated in a flavorful sweet and sour sauce. One unexpected favorite was the pear soda. It's made with Asian pear, so the flavor is much lighter and more refreshing than the sweeter pear sodas we're used to. The only hiccup? They're bottled with a traditional cap, and since we were staying in a hotel, we quickly realized we didn't have a bottle opener. Let's just say we got a little creative. One thing I really appreciated was that the staff noticed our large takeout order and packed it thoughtfully. They included six extra takeout containers, plenty of forks, chopsticks, and napkins, which ended up being incredibly helpful since we were eating in a hotel room with no paper plates or utensils. It's a small gesture, but one that definitely didn't go unnoticed. Overall, we were really happy with our meal. This place lived up to being on my bookmark list for over a year, and I'd happily come back the next time we're staying in downtown Portland.

The portions were beyond generous, and each meal had nothing lacking. The meat in both dishes was tender and juicy, the noodles were cooked perfectly, soft but with a chew, and everything came out fast! The chicken noodle was more savory, and the japchae was a bit sweeter, but still standing with a savory component. We also ordered chicken dumplings and they were perfect. Crispy but nice on the inside, and whatever the sauce was that came with it is something I will continue to think about weekly. We were on vacation from the east coast and wish we found this place sooner in the trip. The restaurant is tiny and is all self serve, but the gentleman who brought out our dishes was very kind. Perhaps it was because we got there about an hour before closing? But the food was too oily and looked sloppy. No real customer interaction or service since you order through a kiosk.
