I ordered a roll special with a spicy tuna roll and spicy salmon roll. The salmon roll was slightly larger but fewer pieces, and the tuna was the opposite. Just ordered $90 worth of sushi, I got four of the most popular expensive roles that they had. The wait for takeout was quoted at 30minutes and it took an 1 hour 20 minutes. There was other customers that were canceling their orders, and I should've known better and canceled mine. I have had sushi at hundreds of places and I can probably say this is the absolute worst. Honestly, not one role was good. You know it's bad when a sushi lover has to literally spit out the roll. Literally throughout the entire order. Except the miso soup, which was just kind of normal miso. And my son ate the shrimp tempura, but he's three years old and my other son ate the white rice. The sushi was just complete garbage not fresh tasted fishy. I am not one to complain. In fact I have never once complained and this is my very first yelp review but I just have to warn people that this is garbage and you are better off going to a fast food place. Great atmosphere and an amazing first visit! Loved the cozy atmosphere, it made the dining experience even better. The quality of the nigiri here is really great, with generous portions and fresh fish. The fatty salmon, salmon, and yellowtail sushi were standout favorites, highly recommend them! We also tried their jjamppong (spicy noodles), but it wasn't as good as I expected. That said, they have a great selection of rolls, but the sushi was definitely the highlight. Looking forward to coming back to explore more of their menu, including the hot dishes and other sushi options. We recently went to 185th and got Chirashi and my wife asked for no salmon and said put whatever else in there instead. Waitress came back asking about an up charge for tuna and basically anything but salmon. Begrudgingly we got the salmon but left scratching our heads as salmon and tuna are similar in cost on nigiri on the menu. New location is clean and fresh and the staff is super friendly. Ordered 2 rolls and albacore nigiri and a 3 item bento with tempura, baked mussels and spicy Chicken. My family loves this restaurant and we go here or order takeout from here at least every other week. Highly recommend the Mio Spicy Chirashi dish- for you Koreans out there it's basically a hae-deop-bap, and it's the best salad out there. Rice foundation with lettuce and various mixed fish on top seasoned with sesame oil and gochuchang. The rolls here are also fresh and my daughter loves the tobiko. A great place for sushi! This restaurant has all the different kinds of Japanese cuisine with bento boxes, ramen, and of course sushi itself. When I entered, the ambience was quite welcoming and I was quickly seated without delay. They told me I could sit anywhere and I began to order the spider and eel roll. Had the lunch special, this time the bento box deal. There was a lot of food to sample. Service was fast, pleasant and efficient. Enjoy the clean space and attentive staff. The lunch meal deal was unspectacular, an over dressed iceberg salad swimming in a puddle of sweet, vivid yellow dressing of ginger and carrot, two small vegetable gyoza with little to no flavor accompanying choices of a shrimp tempura roll which was somehow super fishy and a vegetable yaki-soba so over sauced and sweet it was nearly impossible not to think it wasn't served as a desert dish. Across the table there was lovely tempura well fried and delightful, the California roll with Krab, yes with a "K", was mayo heavy to the point of being mayo textured Krab flavoring. Might have been an unfortunate daytime glitch, we've had a number of very nice meals in the evening so won't cross this off the list for one misstep. My boyfriend and I went here last week and lemme tell ya- this was wonderful. The food was great, but the service was incredible. The two women serving were very busy but the most chipper, delightful servers I've experienced and I've been in the restaurant industry for 10 years. It felt like I was being served by Disney princesses- we couldn't stop watching as they were interacting with people at their tables- being so sweet, and somehow nurturing all while being professional and getting the job done proficiently. I've been to them all. If there's one thing about MIO over the years, is they are consistent. Currently living in Cedar Hills, this is a welcome addition to the neighborhood to this newly remodeled block. Came here during their soft opening, wasn't very busy. Good service, good food. Came again a few months later and it was jammed, so busy we had to go somewhere else, guess this is what happens when you get the first warm sunny Friday after a long winter. Came again with a reservation, no problem at 5 PM, but was full by 6 PM on weekday evening, have also gotten take out. I come to Mio mainly for the Oregon Roll. It's a premium roll filled with real crab mix, not imitation Krab with a 'K', salmon and avocado on the outside with a sprig of asparagus down the middle. Been getting this roll for decades from Mio and it's never a let down. I've tried similar rolls at other places and they just aren't the same. Most of the nigiri sushi is great as well as their rolls. Only sushi I've been let down with, is the Hamachi Nigiri or yellowtail. It's always a bit foul, and this is not just a Mio thing, it's a Portland thing. Seems when you order Hamachi nigiri, instead of getting amberjack fish, you are getting yellowfin, not yellowtail? I spent a few years in LA and used to get perfect Hamachi nigiri in LA all the time, also a couple places in Portland have gotten it right as well, but it's rare. Hamachi should be more white in color, almost clear, with a smooth clean buttery taste, similar to what you'd get if your ordered the sashimi version which are usually better cuts. But when you get the nigiri version, it's often more dull pink looking and often has a strong sour fishy taste to it. I've tried many times, and it's just nasty. So I stopped. Only places that do it right in Portland seem to be Murata in downtown Portland and Sinju. Weird! Otherwise, no complaints. Prices are mid average, and like everywhere else have gone up! I do like that they offer real crab in most of their rolls and will make custom handrolls by request. Always friendly. Most staff were still following Covid protocols during my last visit in March of 2024. Mio is great because there's a large enough and diverse menu it can usually cater to picky eaters, even those who don't eat sushi. Fairly easy parking in shared lot, but does get busy, lots of extra parking in library lot next door. Disabled and wheelchair friendly and does take reservations. Isn't terribly large inside, but can accommodate larger groups. Seems they could actually fit in a few more tables, but maybe occupancy codes don't allow it. Some seating at bar. Clean. read more

Glad to have a Mio so close by. Service was friendly and attentive, fish was attractive and fresh. Beverages and appetizers (edamame and calamari) came quickly. Sushi itself was a bit slow in arriving because so many sushi orders were being prepared for take-out orders. (Plus one of our rolls was originally forgotten.) - But grace on this (and no stars removed) because as I said, the sushi was good and the service was friendly - plus they are still in "soft opening" mode and working out kinks. (Time delay is usually not a big deal for us - but we got there right at opening and ordered quickly because we only had a limited amount of time, and I was afraid we might end up having to wrap up food "to go," after all.)
