Decent Mexican truck in the Happy Valley Station food truck pod. I've only ever had the burritos, which are healthy-sized, but greasy AF. Not sure if there's too much cheese, or it's from the meat but those things are sloppy. Taste is pretty good. I wish the al Pastor was more authentic kebab meat with more pineapple. This cart's pastor looks like it's stewed or braised. The prices seem to match the size, being $13-14 for a burrito. My niece had the birria tacos once and loved them. Great presentation and food looked amazing. However, it's a one shot deal for me. There's a lot going on with their dishes because of all the pairing of vegetables with protein as well as the many sauces that are already on the tacos. To the point where there's too much going on and there's no real distinction. The green taco sauce was great and really thats all I remember from this colorful dish. That is the problem because if I order a fish taco I want to remember the fish and if I order a lobster taco I want the lobster to stand out. The owner reaches out immediately to me and tells me it's a negative review and he doesn't need Any negativity on the site. I'm not your buddy and I was an executive chef for over 17 years. I cooked for Kevin Costner and his wife on several occasions as well as many other celebrities. I don't know who you think you are, but now I'm gonna let you have it. I learned over 3 decades from other chefs. I take constructive criticism well. How would I have known not to order all the stuff if I've never eaten there before period. I gave an honest review and you attacked me. Now I'm changing your 3 stars to 1 star. No reasonably sound minded person would have reacted to my review and 3 stars. I've frequented the happy valley food station quite a bit and had never tried this place, largely due to their prices. But on this day, I had scratch that needed to be itched in the form of Mexican food and their specials menu called to me. I asked for the fish tacos and was more than disappointed when I heard they were out of fish. After returning my gaze to the menu, my sadness must have been noticed, as the staff quickly offered a solution in the form of shrimp. I quickly accepted and was on my way! Even though my friend had put in his order at a different cart way before me, my food was ready much earlier than his. The 2 shrimp tacos looked fantastic right off the bat and I took some hot salsa with me to my seat. The shrimp appeared to be deep fried which was a nice surprise. I took my first bite and my mouth exploded in flavor! The hot salsa added just the right amount of heat without being overbearing. The only negatives were the price and the mess. For 2 shrimp tacos, a diet coke and a small tip, I paid almost $20. The food was excellent but that's still a bit much. I also had to go back for more napkins, as it was very messy. I'll definitely return, and will just need to be prepared for the hit to the wallet ahead of time. read more

Wow!!! Fuego All Day was well worth the long drive in the pouring rain from our home in Portland. My partner and I LOVE birria in every form. I've been obsessed with birria since a trip to TJ several years ago and eat it whenever I can in the states or while on one of our many trips to Mexico. We arrived to no line and a very friendly cashier. She was so excited to welcome us to the food truck! We ordered a taco plate and ceviche. Also we were able to try a softshell crab taco, wow!!!! The food was prepared very quickly and we decided to eat outside with our pup because it smelled way too good to wait to drive back to Portland. Omg!!!! Everything was so incredible. The consomé was so flavorful, the tacos crisp and cheesy, and ceviche was perfectly balanced between the shrimp, chiles, and lime. And OMG the soft shell crab taco was out of this world. Hands down some of the best birria in Portland and even rivals birria we've had in Mexico. I can't say enough positive things about the whole experience. Amazing staff. Amazing food. Food presentation is beautiful! The pozole was delicious (just a bit too salty for my taste) and the street corn was charred just right with yummy toppings. The guys were busy in their food cart and got orders out quickly. Things I'd like to see done differently: either put the generous lime/lemon half on the side so the juice can be squeezed into the soup, or cut slits into it before putting it into the soup. As is, the lime/lemon half is more decorative than for added flavoring. The pozole is very tasty and along with chunks of pork, the soup has bones in it. We came to the carts tonight for dinner. Both of us ordered fish Burrito's. The burrito's themselves were ok, but the fish was past it's prime and should have never been served. Smelled fishy..tasted even worse. I opened up my burrito and removed all the fish, my friend threw her burrito away it was so bad. I stopped by the cart as we were leaving to tell them the fish was bad...the young man looked at me like I was from another planet. I told him that the fish shouldn't be served to other customers and he told me that our two burritos were the last of the fish. Our burritos were $15.00 each! Seriously so good! We were house shopping in Happy Valley and wanted to check out the 'hood so we stopped here on our realtors recommendation. So glad we did! Not only was this a nice, comfortable spot but the food was so amazing. We tried the birria tacos, chicharron Gordita, papas rellenas and asada burrito. Every single thing was amazing and you could tell the cook truly loves cooking and eating delicious food. These were, no joke, the best birria tacos I've ever had and (sorry, I have to say it...) we just moved here from LA. The papas rellenas were hot and crunchy, and my god that Gordita gave me life. Every salsa was flavorful and delicious with just the right amount of kick so you can eat them with enjoyment. The birria tacos are absolutely some of the very best that i have had. They are packed with delicious tender meat and a handful of gooey cheese (what's better than that). The staff is extremely friendly and ready to help even during the busiest time of day and the food is not "fast" but very convenient for a lunch break.
