I go here 100% of the time when at the Happy Valley Food Carts. I order the Spider Crunchy. It's fried crab (I believe) and then cucumber, rice, avocado, seaweed, rice crisps with their sauces. It's always FRESH! I never try other items but they have a giant menu of items. If I would go back or not, I'd return :) I love their cart & they're always friendly. They also have new little devices that beep when your order is ready.

I've been eating my way around here to sniff out the ones that are actually good because I can't trust some of these yelp reviews. I've been fooled many times. *sobs dramatically * My family ordered the miso ramen, caterpillar, California roll, Philly roll. "Why did you order these rolls?"Chill, I was with my kids and tiny humans have their own tastes. I'm just happy they let me take them to get sushi. The broth, boo, it was good. It had a hint of spice that I loved because I'm slowly introducing spice to my half Mexican gremlins. They loved it too! The rolls were good too! I'll definitely come back here to try the donut ones and their nigiri. Here's some photos of half-eaten rolls. That California roll didn't even hit the table before my 8 year old grabbed a slice with her hand. She said she was really really hungry!! It's been 3 hours since she last ate and half an hour since she ate the Doritos in my purse.

Not bad! Especially for a food truck and one that's so far out from the coast. And pricing is decent given the location of the trucks. I got the mango ahi poke sushiritto for $12(? I think) and the ordering/pick-up process was seamless. I was able to easily find a table to enjoy my food. The ahi was previously frozen (any food truck serving raw fish would probably have to freeze their fish), but still good quality. I'd order from here on my next visit.

Okay one word to describe this.. YUM. I'd say they have the freshest tasting poke tuna in the area. It doesn't taste fishy at all. I swear I've been here like 100 times because I crave it. Really wish they had an option to build your own poke bowl or burrito because I feel like such a burden when I customize and make substitutions (I'm pretty picky)! But overall, 10/10 from this poke connoisseur

    Mary N.

Starting to think sushi burritos are a crime against humanity... maybe the real crime here is using hot cheeto dust to coat the outside but as a hot cheeto lover (and this is the only time I'll openly admit that on this platform) I was so disappointed in the food here!! We ordered the Wasabi Burrito and I wanted to like this so bad, eating it burrito style was very unsatisfying. The wasabi was extremely overpowering and was quite frankly the only flavor in the entire roll. There was no soy sauce or spicy mayo of any kind, just straight fish and veggies. I wish we read the other reviews that highlighted better rolls, I rarely find sushi I don't like and I'm sure I would love the other options. I was completely blind sided by the novelty of the sushi-rito and I regret it. Personally, I like eating with chopsticks better anyway.

These guys are pretty consistent with their food. It's always super fast and fresh. Even during busy times I've gotten my order pretty quick. I haven't had any of the sushirritos but their bowls and rolls are always delicious!

    Sweet Crunchy B-ritto--- yummy!
    Megan C.

Hidden gem in happy valley food carts! Definitely a must try. I got the Sweet Crunchy B-ritto. The outside has crunchy stuff (Rice Krispies?) and rice on outside. It tastes better than individual rolls in my opinion. The flavors flowed very nicely and tasted so fresh. I'll be coming back to try other items on the menu!

Tuna and Salmon Donut with Spicy Tuna Filling
    Christina C.

This was the first place I went to get sushi b-rittos (burrito)and I loved it! I've tried most of the sushi b-ritto on the menu and they're all so good! The Spider b-ritto is my favorite sushi b-ritto that they offer! At my recent visit, I got the Wasabi Cheetos B-Ritto and the Tuna & Salmon with a Spicy Tuna Filling Donut. The Wasabi Cheeto B-Ritto was tasted great and definitely satisfied my sushi cravings. In addition, this was my first time getting the sushi donut and I was thoroughly impressed! The sushi donut was filled with spicy tuna and topped with salmon, tuna, and avocado. It was such a delight and it could definitely be a snack if you're looking for something light.

Menu for Wasabi Sushi PDX Food Cart

Sushi Donuts! I mean ... SUSHI DONUTS! The Happy Valley Station has many reliable food carts, but none appear to be more popular than Wasabi Sushi. The line to order had me wondering why ... while the menu of Sushi Rolls and Sushi Bowls didn't stand out ... until I saw Sushi B-rritos (wraps) and three types of Sushi Donuts. So, what's a sushi donut? I'm glad you asked because I had the same question. Of course, I had to order one ... and did by getting the Tuna and Salmon with Crab Filling Sushi Donut. Basically, a sushi donut is a ring of sushi rice topped with fresh slices of fish and avocado. It was alright, but came across as just making a sushi roll round. Best of all? It wasn't bad. I'm very picky about sushi and sashimi, so finding a filling and decent option from a food cart in Happy Valley was nice. I don't care if popular Wasabi Sushi calls them Sushi Donuts, Sushi Bagels, or Sushi Rings, I'll likely come back to join the long line to get another stomach-stuffing Sushi Donut.

    Samurai dragon
    Nerissa T.

Wasabi PDX is one of the few places near the Portland area that offers sushi burritos (which is the main reason we wanted to stop by, tbh). And we're so glad that we did! It is a part of Happy Valley station, which has a variety of other food carts as well. They have a nice indoor sitting area where you can grab a beer while you wait or if you decide to eat there. I ordered the samurai dragon and it was pretty good. Not only that it was very reasonably priced ($9) for what you get. It had salmon, eel, surimi crab, avocado, and cucumbers with a spicy sauce. They also have regular sushi rolls and poke bowls. Even though it's a bit far from where I live, I would definitely drive back here again to get their sushi "b-rrito". *Don't forget to check into yelp to get 10% off your order!

The Ocean bowl is my absolute favorite!! Jam packed with salmon, tuna, and crab. My go to meal at the food carts for sure. All of the staff are always so friendly every time I go to!

And to the three of you…read moretrying to triangulate my exact location based on this review relax, it's not that serious. Let's get into it. Right off I-205 and just a short cruise up into Happy Valley, this spot feels like the food cart scene finally put on a clean shirt and got its life together. It's modern, it's polished, and it sits in a neighborhood where you don't feel like you need to keep your head on a swivel. No chaos, no nonsense just good eats and a relaxed vibe. What makes this place stand out? Options. A ridiculous amount of them. This isn't a "hope everyone agrees on tacos" situation. This is a "you get what you want, I get what I want, and we all win" kind of place. I've officially made it my mission few days left to try as many carts as humanly possible. Call it a food tour, call it a personal challenge, call it reckless ambition... I'm doing it anyway. We kicked things off at K-Pop Korean Hawaiian BBQ-because when you roll with a buddy from Hawaii, that's basically law. And let me tell you, it delivers. Bold flavors, solid portions, and that perfect fusion vibe that just works. Honestly, it set the bar high and that's saying something, because every cart here seems to bring their A-game. The setup is dialed in too. Covered seating for those rainy Oregon days, indoor space when winter decides to show up with attitude, and open-air areas when you want to sip a little wine or knock back a cold brew like a civilized adult. Surrounded by trees and mountain views, it almost tricks you into thinking you planned something outdoorsy... when really, you just came to eat. And here's the kicker it's clean. Like, noticeably clean. The carts look new, the area is well kept, and the whole place feels intentional. Not slapped together. Not gritty. This is food carting with standards. If you're local, you already know. If you're passing through, put this at the top of your list. And if you're doing a full-on food truck tour? Start here. Set the tone right. Because trust me after this, when you head back downtown and start dodging zombies and chaos... you'll miss this place real quick.

Dog friendly, Kid friendly, 100-year old friendly. Lots of clean and tidy indoor and outdoor cafeteria-style seating to choose from. Carts are covered from the rain, but outside. Beer and Espresso served and paid for inside. Restrooms are accessible and inside. Carts will give you a buzzer to notify you when the order is ready, so you can go walk around or find a seat while you wait. It was very busy this particular day, but no problem, all the carts seemed to be prepared for that! Just a lot of friendly faces who understood we needed to drool over all the menus before arriving somewhere. We landed on Premier Japanese Hibachi and loved all the flavor. Some of the freshest shrimp and yakisoba I have ever had. We also had the grilled shrimp and steak. TIP: don't forget to ask how you want your steak because it is made to order! The sauces on the side were perfect for dipping and sharing. Unfortunately, the portions did feel small for $18 a plate. Also, how to order water with your meal was confusing- another worker said just go inside. Eventually I saw signs that water is free with purchase or $1, but you would think it would be obvious. Overall, Premier Japanese Hibachi and everything else was a hit, 10/10, TY!

"Let me know if you have any questions!". We had questions about her menu items, and she answered them nicely and thoroughly, in detail. Okay, so we order two things: the S3 and the Spicy Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen, and here's what U think about each: Tonkotsu Ramen: -The Meat doesn't have a huge initial, impactful taste, but the flavor settles in a couple seconds after you bite it and it's a very soft, warming feeling. -The Broth is where the spice is, and it's not like "oh my mouth is on fire" it's the type of spice that hits you in the back of the throat, so it's bearable but I couldn't chug it personally, I had to take sips which is nice for someone who devours their food like there's no tomorrow (like me). -The Noodles are.. just your typical Ramen noodles, nothing special to add there but nothing bad to say at all! -The Egg, although not marinated in soy sauce like some places do, was cooked well. The inside was soft and gooey, but the white was fully cooked. I have no complaints! -The Mushrooms added a nice texture to the noodles and the overall dish, and worked to make it even more satisfactory. The S3: -I don't have much to say because my cousin ordered it and I only had a few bites, but the veggies were cooked nicely... -The big boom about it was the noodles. If I had to describe it, I would say it's like.. an Orange Chicken type of Tater Tot, it was really unique and fun to eat. Next time I go, it'll be hard to decide what to order.. Okay, don't just take my word for it, go see for yourself! いただきます!

You ever go somewhere thinking you'll just grab a quick bite, and next thing you know you're planning your return before you've even finished chewing? That's this place. What I like is they don't box themselves in. You've got Korean, Hawaiian, and a little mix of everything going on. I lean Hawaiian most days, something about it just hits right, especially when you're not trying to go all in. Sometimes you're just grabbing food, maybe bringing something back for later, pacing yourself like a responsible adult. This is that kind of spot. It works with you, not against you. And here's the thing, I used to write those safe reviews. "It's cute. Nice service." That tells nobody anything. That's background noise. This place deserves better than that. This is a spot you actually remember. Friendly people, solid food, and a consistency that turns a casual stop into a routine. Happy Valley's already a great area, so you're starting off on the right foot just being there. But if you're walking into that food cart pod and wondering where to go, I'm telling you straight up, this is one of the top choices. No overthinking it. Take my word for it, or don't. My go-tos are the Shoyu or Teriyaki chicken plates, the Kalua Pork Plate, or the Bibimbap. My only do-betters are that the teriyaki chicken can sometimes be dry, and I wish both the chicken dishes came with a sauce. They do have sriracha packets if you ask. The plates come with rice, a small lettuce salad and dressing (could use a little more of that sometimes), and a mac salad with pretty simple black pepper seasoning. It's a good amount of food for the price. I also really appreciate, and choose to visit K-Bop, because they use the compostable clamshell containers, and not the wasteful single-use plastic like so many others.
