I found this place via Yelp and it looked interesting so I headed over. Parking can be tough but I found a spot. The menu is awesome. Non traditional and new. Cool vibe. This is the 2nd time I went to Fuel America and ordered a Peanut butter blast Acai. The 1st time there was no peanut butter in it. So of course I mentioned that the 2nd time please make sure you add peanut butter. I was disappointed to find not even a teaspoon of peanut butter in the peanut butter Blast Acai. For $14.98. I will not be going back. I think they add peanut butter granola and that's considered the blast. The servise was good and servers were friendly. So I appreciate that. read more

Dunks makes a similar product assembled from pre-made frozen and reheated components. Dunks does it better and it doesn't drip from condensation from being defrosted. The place is fairly new and very clean inside. The staff was friendly and even tried to suggest food to go with my drink. I was in a hurry and they were closing within the 1/2 hour so only grabbed a quick hot chocolate. I'll review the coffee on my next visit. Conveniently located near the Worcester commons, it's walking distance to my apartment. I'm not sure what I was expecting. I think I expected more retail items and nicknacks for sale. It reminded me more of a starbucks with as many retail items. The décor was really neat and the coffee roaster equipment is in an open area, so additionally, it adds to the décor along with huge bags of coffee beans displayed on pallets. My hot chocolate was hot and I had to remind the barista to add whipped cream to it (the person who took my order wasn't the person making the order). I found the taste of the hot chocolate... interesting. It had somewhat of a taste other than chocolate to it. I couldn't put my finger on it... it wasn't bitter, that's not the right word, but it made the drink only mediocre. When I asked the attendant how long they'd been opened, I was surprised to learn it had been a couple of months. I had tried to call a few days before and couldn't find a number. Neither could the operator. I'll definitely be back to try the coffee though. I liked the décor and it's in a convenient area. This place is amazing! Internet- Easy to connect and very efficient. Table Space- Plenty of work space, several nice community tables for larger gatherings. Menu- very clear and straight forward. It's a franchise; that's all you really need to know. The fare is quite edible, but not necessarily food. I'd call it glorified Fast Food. The "chicken" sandwich contained imitation (reconstituted) chicken, like you'd get at Burger King. However, the atmosphere was pleasant, it seemed friendly and popular, and the coffee was decent. This was my favorite lunch spot when I worked in downtown Worcester. I went to grab a sandwich for dinner and got to the there at 7:21 to my surprise the doors locked and two employees inside cleaning. I doubled checked to make sure I had the closing time right as listed on yelp- 8pm (their website also reflects 8pm). I was a little confused, so I tried calling and the worker inside said sorry we closed at 7pm today. No sign on the door for early closing, seemed a little odd but I guess they close when they feel like it so if you're expecting to come here make sure you call to see if they're actually open before making the trip. read more

I will start off by saying that this place has just opened and likely are still working out the kinks. That being said, there are some things that could use some work. I ordered the following: 1) Strawberry Banana Smoothie: normally I am not a smoothie drinker because most places make them too sweet. I find that it isn't too sweet here, and it is the right amount of thickness. 2) Ricotta and Honey Toast: this is where they fell flat hard. I was given a very burnt around the edges piece of toast, and despite it being burnt on the outside the middle part was cold, undercooked, and unpleasant. Ricotta texture wasn't pleasant, and it didn't particular add or detract from the piece. I liked the honey and the sunflower seeds. There are sprigs of mint all over the top, but the mint did not mesh well with the piece, and I was given wilted, brown pieces and just removed them altogether. Needless to say, I took a couple bites and tossed the rest. 3) Farmer Pan Omelette Sandwich: best thing I ordered here. The multigrain bread could have been toasted a bit more, but the omelette wedge piece was well seasoned and overall tasted great. It was about 18 dollary doos plus tip. Staff wasn't particularly nice, but they weren't rude either. The decor of the place is cute. Would I go back and give it another try? For sure, but maybe I will wait another month until their staff is better trained on how to make a proper piece of toast. read more

While the interior looked nice and there was promise of free wifi, the breakfast sandwich was beyond bland and the coffee was extremely overheated but tepid in the flavor department; to add insult to injury the internet was spotty, I had easier time getting on a the guest website of a nearby hospital than getting consistent connection on the guest site offered by Fuel America. read more

I have been coming here the past few days to study for a final. I sit in the back corner everyday. I choose to order my food online once I sit down because it's so much quicker (probably due to short staff = long lines) food is always amazing. Coffee tastes perfect. The problem is that where I've been sitting there are so many flies. So many. It's gross. I've never seen this many flies in a cafe. I was so shocked of how many flies there are I actually brought my own gnat stickers (for my plants) to hopefully catch some flies while I am here. That way I'm not constantly swatting flies when I try to study. The sticker has fallen a few times which made me notice how genuinely dirty it is back here. This place needs a serious deep clean. Would probably help with the flies. See pictures below for reference. In the two hours I was here the sticker grabbed 13 flies. That's only in two hours. Imagine how many flies are cooked into your food or go swimming in your coffee. read more

Most importantly the dine in area is spacious with lots of outlets and good WiFi. A great place for studying or work from home. I really appreciate locally roasted coffee. I've lived in Pittsburgh,PA and by Louisville, KY. Both cities have exceptional local roasters who actually know what they are doing. I was not able to find a solid roaster here until Fuel opened up by my house. To be completely honest, they can't compete to the hipster locations where I previously lived, but they are definitely the best coffee I've tasted since I've been in the New England area. I'm giving it 5 stars because 1. I can drink the coffee without cream and actually enjoy the notes and flavors in the roast. I've also had their pastries and they are delicious. 2. The staff is very friendly and I always appreciate a smile. 3. They are speedy for a sit down coffee shop. 4. They have a large area for many people to relax with pleasant music. 5. It's always clean! My only issue is they do double shots instead of just single shots. So I have to remember if I want an extra shot, I have to ask for half a shot since they use a double shot. Visited here on an early saturday afternoon. My review was based on a couple different things i noticed: The interior is very well done. Its open and comfortable. The shop is also very clean which is a huge plus. Parking was a little challenging as theres quite a few businesses in the area so street parking was difficult to find. The staff seemed friendly enough. It felt like there were almost more staff behind the counter then customers around. They were prompt and were knowledgable about what they were serving. Thats a plus. The coffee. I am disappointed here. We ordered three different coffees and well, none were considered fantastic. My boyfriend ordered a cold brew, black, and they put cream in it. Not a huge deal, except he is lactose intolerant, so he was not thrilled. He tried it and his reaction was mehh. His mother ordered a regular and she thought it was okay. I ordered a latte and it tasted burnt. I did not end up finishing it. There are some really well established coffee places in the area, so the coffee needs to be great. I've been here twice so far and the highlight was the breakfast sandwich that I got. They serve these all day but it was so good. I got the farmers omelette sandwich and it was worth every penny. Super fluffy eggs, ham, some other veggies, Siracha Mayo. It was seriously good and not just because I'm hungover from the super bowl. Ha. But it was huge and super filling. I came in here for the soft opening and was given free food and drinks. The vegetarian sandwich is fire. I even gave a bite to my colleague who was disappointed that she went with a turkey sandwich instead. The juice was fresh if only it was chilled on ice instead of served room temperature. The beer ( Flying Dreams) is good as always and a nice touch for a cafe to have. I've been a couple of times since the soft opening and I'll say: the line is awfully long around lunch time (my break). You can't just order a coffee at the coffee bar, you must wait in line with everyone else. Then you must proceed to sign the receipt if you use card prompting you to pay a tip, which just holds up the line even longer. For someone who's just getting coffee it also seems a bit weird to tip when the service station is self serve and across the dining room. It's also very loud in there. I'm not sure what the noise is but I suspect it has something to do with coffee beans. See, this place has this supposed vibe that they're a warehouse storing bags and bags of beans. It goes along with the title "Fuel America". But this place is a cafe right? Unless I'm mistaken, the wholesale bean receiving and grinding should be done in a separate facility? I'm probably mistaken but it sure is loud in there. It feels like your sipping coffee in the same room as the factory. Makes you want to wear goggles and ear plugs, or maybe it's just me. Been eating at Fuel in Worcester for a while now but was very disappointed to be told recently that food isn't available after 7:30 p.m. We usually get takeout about that time at night and were stunned to learn that despite being open til 8, we wouldn't be served. So few options available downtown at night and now Fuel isn't one of them. :( read more
