First time trying this place and we ordered a total of 5 items. The total came out to $65 with tip. Prices are reasonable. Service was good. Definitely would comeback -Hokkai yaki - more on the spicy side but it's still really good and goes well with lemon juice. This is the first place I've been to that gives you a side of lemon with this dish -Beef yaki udon - pretty salty, not that much beef was in it. It was good but I wouldn't order it again -Snow mountain roll - standard snow mountain roll, pretty good. -Super caterpillar - really good roll too, all the flavors went really well together -Volcano maki - this roll was soooo good, literally melt in your mouth. Came here on a rainy weekend and got in before the rush. There are several other locations in this chain but this is one of the cheaper ones with high quality food. Some of the other locations definitely feel higher end but it is not as good. Udon tempura soup is pretty good. I like how they leave the tempura on the side so it don't get soggy. Sushi is excellent. My only complaint is the angry chef yelling at his co-worker behind my friend's head. It got a bit uncomfortable towards the end but the food is still good. read more

Fuji offers a great sushi platter if you want to sample of everything for a small gathering. We opted for platter D as one of our appetizers but the 6 of us finished it in a few minutes because it was so good(but we were also very hungry waiting on other food to arrive). Ordered delivery. When the driver arrived he called me saying he couldn't find my house so I said I would be right out. Hung up on me right away and when I went out I had to search the houses around me. Found the food two houses down. Called the restaurant and the lady who picked up proceeded to call the driver and yell at him in Chinese over the phone while keeping me on the line. The sushi is cheap which is the only palatable thing about this place. Review concerns delivery, service, and behavior of the employees. Waited over 2 hours for a delivery on a Saturday night. Over 2 hours. When I called the restaurant, they said they were so busy and frantic. Seeing as thousands of local Boston eateries have closed during 2020 - I felt this was tone deaf. Poor you! Business is booming. When the driver arrived, zero English. While I have the utmost sympathy and respect for people who make moves into the dreaded coup te dat banana republic of the USA - not speaking a single word of the same language is tough, especially when you have explicit written instructions. The driver does not yet know the power of buzzing at apartments. I met the driver in the lobby who had both doors between the foyer area and the outside open at the same time and left my dog for dead to run across a busy Boston street. I recognize I'm in a foul mood but never again will I indulge saving a few dollars on mediocre sushi to wait two hours and chase my dog shoeless a half mile in 30 degree weather because someone can't figure out how to buzz. read more

We eat sushi weekly at Blue Fugu on St. Pete Beach in Fl. We couldn't find a casual but good sushi restaurant here in South Shore so haven't eaten sushi up here for a couple of years now. We ate here at Fuji about 20 years ago (2003?) when it had only been in business for about 5 years. It was just okay then (we never went back). HOWEVER, over the past 20 years, they have figured out their game, expanded and get great reviews! This afternoon, we decided to try it again and stopped in after golf to sit at the sushi bar. We started with some hot sakis and looked around. Just a few patrons at tables but in addition to 3 waitresses in this small restaurant, there were 3 sushi chefs, two other food preparers and a dishwasher. They were working non-stop on take out! The very first thing I thought was that the fish must be very fresh here as the turnover is huge! This is a good sign for a fish restaurant! We started with Sashimi Deluxe and Sushi Super dinners. I think that was plenty but the fish was so good that we then ordered some rolls - Spider Maki and Joe Maki rolls...again, both delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and our sushi chef was able to find a minute to ask us if we were enjoying our food. We arrived at the restaurant at 4 ish and I expect that is why it wasn't filled with diners although they had plenty of waitstaff. I consider ourselves lucky; had we arrived early evening, I expect it would have been packed and we may not have waited for seating. This place is great! We will now become regulars for the sushi bar and take out. We highly recommend Fuji in Quincy...fresh fish, great selection, nice presentation and great service! The JP Fugu Group has a lot of highly rated restaurants you can try. We can also give a big thumbs up to Shabu in Quincy which has fabulous hot pot. I use to come here often with my parents when I was younger and now I come here with my own kids. I remember I stopped going here for a while because of all the new resteraunts that opened around the area and because I felt like they wasn't as "good" as before. But one night I decided to just drop in while driving by because there was parking right in the front. And I had such a good experience that I've been coming here at least once a month since. Fuji is a a little hole in the wall. Right on a corner, there's usually plenty of street parking. A small intimate spot with not too many seating. Which is nice because I always felt like the bigger the resteraunt the more you lose out on good conversations and wait time for food is a lot longer. Also here I can just feel relaxed because I'm not at some cool high end spot. In a way it feels like I'm eating at home. The servers are quick to greet and have you seated. I don't recommend this spot for large groups. I usually come in groups of 2-4. Anymore will be too tight. They offer pretty much everything you would crave for at a Japanese sushi place. I enjoy their sashimi options like salmon, tuna, and uni (with occasional quail egg). I like to get their steak filet mignon on hot stone. It's the perfect amount for me to eat with apps. Their hotate (bakes scallop) are usually really good. Sometimes a lil bit too spicy for me but still really good. Last night I ordered bontan ebi sashimi which is raw shrimp sashimi for the first time and thought it was delicious. The chef actually fried the shrimp heads for us and served with a special soy sauce for dipping and it was soo decadent and flavorful. I'm def coming back for more! For dessert, they have fried ice cream, ice cream and mochi I believe. I've had the fried ice cream and it's always soooo good. I mean you can't go wrong with ice cream that's dipped in delicious batter and deep fried right?! A perfect balance between hot and cold all at once. If you're looking for somewhete fancy shmancy, maybe this isn't it. But definitely a great spot for dinner if you want something more lowkey. read more

Have not been here for ages but the price here is reasonable so you can't really compare to Fuji in WOC which is few blocks away. Fuji in WOC is way fancy and added pricey ingredients. Fuji is family-owned, most items are avaiable in other sushi restaurants. Some of the usual items that I order are Hokkai Yaki (sometimes maki), dragon, caterpillar, and scorpion. If I am tight on money, I would just order una avocado maki. One of the maki I would highly recommend is the mango shrimp maki which only available here, it is a light and refreshing taste but there are times that the mango gives you a different taste due to the season. read more

In the mood for take-out sushi? This is my go-to restaurant. I live about 30 minutes away, so I can order from home, drive there, and my order is always ready to be picked up. Their prices are very reasonable, and the quality of their sushi is above average. Is is the very best sushi I've ever tasted? I would say no. But whenever I have the urge to enjoy a nice sushi dinner, I come here and get my take-out platter, and they've never disappointed me. One good thing to note is that they give you big bowls of soy sauce and nearly fist-sized lumps of wasabi when you order a take-out sushi platter. It's really nice when you get home and everyone has plenty of soy sauce and wasabi to go around rather than having to fight over tiny lumps of wasabi as you do with most other restaurants. read more

When you walk in, its small and quaint, as most sushi bars should be in my opinion. We were seated right away, and given menus. I ordered the spider roll, california roll and spicy tuna. Spider roll was a venture for me because of the lightly fried crab - it was okay and didn't hurt me. The spicy tuna was by far the favorite of the three because it was fresh and tasty. California roll was a little bland for me, but wasabi and ginger helped spice that baby up. Josh ordered avocado rolls and the tofu tempura. And like a 20 ounce Asahi. He was set. (I'm a black women for context) I should've walk out but decided to order anyway. She told me to come back in 25 mins. I came back in 25 mins & the manger told me I needed to pay. I told her that I already paid when I first came in. Clearly, she completely forget about my order & I had to wait another 15 mins for it. No apology or explanation. This has been my favorite "go to" sushi place for several years now and I order from them at least once a week (including tonight) to satiate my weekly sushi cravings whether it be dining in or grabbing take out. It's a no muss no fuss sushi place that offers fresh sushi in larger than average portions. Win win. My usual order consisting of the spicy salmon hand roll, spicy hamachi hand roll and sashimi appetizer has yet to disappoint. Their overstuffed portions on the hand rolls almost doubles those from other places. Other great items on their menu that I've also tried are the Red Sox maki, New England maki, hokkai yaki, hamachi kama, spicy seafood salad and their makimono combo. All are fantastic. Tip: If you're not crazy with the selection in the makimono combo, you can sub it for other maki rolls and they will only charge you an extra dollar. It's totally worth it. I was a able to switch the sake roll for a philly roll for a $2 charge, not bad. The quality of the food has been lacking recently (shrimp tempura is over-fried and greasy, makis are doused in sauce, rolls are sloppy and the food doesn't taste fresh). 2.5 stars I ordered for delivery from here because I was super hungry, but was waiting for someone to show up so I couldn't leave. It took about an hour which was on par with their guesstimate. I paid with Apple Pay and was able to add the tip, so no cash required. The sushi was not the best. The salmon nigiri pieces were fairly small, especially for their price. The salmon itself was slightly firm and chewy. The sashimi was better and fresh. The Alaskan maki was ok, but small pieces of avocado. I also didn't like the rice - it was not soft, and tasted old. Maybe it's better in the restaurant. I ate in the restaurant once before, but it was a long time ago and I don't really remember the experience. All in all, I did this out of convenience and probably wouldn't do it again, I wasn't really satisfied.
