Spacious restaurant with extensive happy hour menu but food misses the mark. We came on a Tuesday for the happy hour menu. A lot of options to choose from, with decent discounts off the main menu. We got the ryokucha berry cocktail and kitaku suru. Both were definitely on the sweeter side of cocktails, but decent. We ordered a number of things off the happy hour menu. Sushi quality wasn't the best. Reminiscent of supermarket sushi. The brussels sprouts were pretty good but very salty and eventually very heavy. The kalbi fries tasted exactly like we expected, also nothing crazy. We also got the cod taco and the poke taco to try. Both fairly bland. Overall, the menu is extensive but food quality and taste were just okay. Service was great though, our server was super nice and the food came out really fast. Probably wouldn't come back but maybe worth once just for happy hour.

Phenomenal Japanese food, wonderful service, beautiful decor. Fuji is our new favorite restaurant in Sacramento. Yes, it's that good. Happy Hour food and drink specials, too. We will definitely be returning.

We continue to visit Fuji as one of our favorite date spots and a fun place to bring friends. They offer a great happy hour and no matter what time we've visited the experience has been consistent, friendly, and the food has been delicious. There is a designated parking lot across the street, so it's easy to grab a spot and walk over. Just be careful because the parking spots in the lot aren't well marked and it's easiest to just park neatly next to other cars. We like to sit at the bar if there's just two of us, and will grab a table when we have friends. If you want to make sure you have a table, you can make a reservation ahead of time, but we usually don't need to wait too long. Our favorites are the brussel sprouts, karaage chicken, and their nigiri. We also really enjoy the sukiyaki, it's really flavorful and perfect for cooler or rainy weather. We still need to come by for brunch, but we've heard good things. The team here is always friendly, and we've been in enough that some of them recognize us now.

Came here on a Monday and the street food was half off. The place is pretty big and has a ton of seating so I did not have to wait, plus the food came out quick. Macadamia shrimp: B+ Karaage: C+ Tuna temaki: C Pork/veg gyoza: C+ Garlic salmon: C Out of the dishes I tried I mostly only liked the macadamia shrimp. The tuna and salmon were both quite bland. And the karaage was bland as well. Service was attentive and checked on me so that was good, and the space is pretty large. But I wasn't impressed with the food quality.

I have fond memories of frequently coming to the Fuji's that was previously located in this very same building with my family. So while this Fuji's is not at all related to the original business, I was excited to try the food here. I tried the box with vegetable tempura and salmon misoyaki. The food tasted good and I thought the batter was good on the tempura. I was however shocked at the portion of salmon they give. It was maybe five bites worth of food, and I was not full after eating my meal. They did provide a good size serving for the children's meal though, which balanced out my unhappiness I felt after receiving my meal. I also ordered the matcha pancakes off the brunch menu; it was not cooked. I could tell upon cutting it and the batter sticking to the knife that it likely wasn't cooked. I tried, and sure enough, uncooked...guess I should've informed the staff at the time but my little one wasn't happy so I just wanted to eat and get out. Based on the look of the pancakes, it appeared to just be a regular pancake with some matcha powder mixed in - so nothing special and something you could easily do at home. While service was overall friendly, they left us sitting for a very long time while they coint have more than a couple other tables. They had to be flagged down for us to order. They also forgot things to bring things (rice, miso soup) out that came with the dish. I think a 3.5 rating would be fair, but I guess I'm feeling generous. I would come back, but not in a hurry (and would not order the tiny, tiny salmon serving again. Or the uncooked pancakes).

Craving something hot and delicious on these cold fall nights, the husband and I spontaneously ordered from Fuji's. Venturing the cold, we picked up a to-go order of the hot udon, sukiyaki, and pickled veg. We sped home and dove headfirst into our soups. Yum, yum, and YUM! The sukiyaki broth was to die for and the tsukemono was so refreshing. The husband loved his udon. The restaurant was quick, friendly, and professional. So glad we decided to try Fuji's and we'll be back for sure!

My family and I rented out the top private floor area for a birthday party on Saturday night for about 50 people. It was my first time ever checking out Fuji Sacramento and I was really impressed by the interior and how organized everything was for a private party. We had food served buffet style with salad, green beans, Gyoza, Chicken Katsu, white rice and 2 different types of sushi. Everything was pretty good - no complaints except that they don't use any kind of warmers or chaffing dishes which I thought was odd. We also did a cash bar and they had Japanese beers as well as these really good hard ciders. The bartender did a great job and was very friendly! Staff were very accommodating and helpful when planning everything for the whole evening. They made all of the details smooth and easy! I would definitely recommend Fuji for a private event and I would love to come back soon for dinner and try other food items. Check them out!

Fuji's has reopened on Broadway, and I gave it a try today. The dining area and bar looks good. Seating is comfortable, and I had the lunch combo, starting with miso soup, and lunch included two choices. I chose sesame chicken and vegetable tempura. It also came with rice, two gyoza, and two pieces of California roll. I really like the seamed chicken, with a crispy batter and moist chicken inside. Could use more sauce for flavor though. The tempura , gyoza and California roll were also good, and very fresh. The miso soup was good, but more sodium than the usual. I will definitely come back because it looks like they have a great happy hour and they have loco moco on the menu. Our server, John, was great!!! I'll be back soon.

Good food, great services. It's small intimate atmosphere. Small menu selection but satisfying. Sushi is super fresh! There is some street parking and a parking lot across the street.

We attended a private event in the upstairs banquet room. Decor is rather plain but we were there for a celebration so it didn't really matter. The servers were accommodating especially with those needing extra assistance. The food was great. We started off with apps which consisted of sashimi and California roll w/unagi. Yum to the max. For dinner we had salad, gyoza, veggies, teriyaki chicken and salmon. The gyoza had a great filling but I wish it was warm. The teriyaki chicken was full of flavor and very tender. The salmon on the other hand was out of this world! My only recommendation would be to use chaffing dishes to keep the food a lil warm but since most of it can be eaten at room temperature as if in a bento box it all worked out well. Will I visit again? Most definitely, highly recommend.

The perfect date night dinner spot in an ambiance that's modern, relaxing, and fun. The service was a 10 catering to our every foodie desire. We enjoyed happy hour that I believe runs until 6 pm. So you get that opportunity to try different things if it's your first time like us. The food was absolutely fresh, flavorful. The chicken can I say the most tender perfection I have ever had from the karaage to the sesame chicken. The drinks were perfect. We ordered the following: Chicken karaage Sesame Chicken Garlic green beans Dynamite Spicy Tuna Drinks: Ryokucha Berry House Hot Sake

Friday's happy spot for today is Fuji's Sacramento. I am guessing this spot is related to the Fuji's that was a Sacramento land mark on Florin Rd for decades. Fuji's occupies the old Iron Grill spot on Broadway. Fuji's happy hour is quite impressive because most of the regular menu is included. We tried the calamari $11, lumpia $8, honey macadamia shrimp $13, truffle brussels $9, Spider Roll $14 and the Rainbow Roll $9. From the bar we had the Berry drink and the margarita $10 ea. I think all their fried appetizers are frozen. The honey macadamia shrimp were house made but the flavor was lacking. However the sushi and truffle Brussels were excellent. The drinks were tasty and strong aa well. Our server/bartender Joe sad his fav appetizer is the ribs so we are looking forward to ordering them on our next visit.

I walked inside having no idea that it was going to be a top quality experience. The restaurant was huge and it was packed at 5 PM. We couldn't get a table so we sat at the sushi bar, and there was plenty of room there. Plus watching all of the chefs put together the Omakase offerings was really cool. We opted for the Japanese cauliflower curried soup, the black cod special, the king Roll, the watermelon and mint salad and the shrimp and corn dumpling. Every single dish was FIRE!!! The flavors were delicate and nuanced and perfectly balanced. Even the frisée lettuce on the watermelon and mint salad was a flavor explosion. We found ourselves drinking the sauce out of the bowl from the shrimp and corn dumpling. The croutons in the curried cauliflower soup were crispy on the outside and buttery on the inside. The black cod was the texture of a scallop and the squash purée set it off just right. The king Roll was a marvel to see and absolutely a delight to eat. I loved that little hint of lemon that accented the crab and lobster flavors. 1000% recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys really damn good food. Craziest part of the meal was the cost, it was incredibly reasonably priced, not overpriced, like most restaurants of this caliber. We will definitely be back. She was super sweet, attentive, and checked on us throughout the night without being overbearing. She definitely helped make our date night a great experience. Overall, we had a really good time. The plaza is easy to navigate and while parking can be a bit tight, I've always been able to find a spot closeby. The team working here is really friendly and greet you as you enter. They have a desk on the left as you enter where you can check in for your reservation, request a table, or pick up to-go orders. I've mostly stopped in for take-out and love exploring the menu. Their mystery box is one of my favorites, and always satisfies a sushi craving. I've also dined in a few times and their servers are very friendly and attentive. My favorite thing to do is order family style so everyone can try different appetizers, specialty rolls, and pieces of fish. Although, if you're up for it the omakase experience is wonderful. The food is always high quality and delicious, and I feel like their prices are what you'd expect around the Sacramento area. It is a small restaurant so I recommend making reservations, especially if you have larger groups (over 4 people). Also, seats at the sushi bar tend to be popular, but it's so much fun to watch the chefs prepare the food and to be able to chat with them about what they're making. Check out their website and social media for seasonal items and special events, the ones I've been to have always impressed.

Asked the chef for a recommendation and he advised to try the Shima Aji (another board special). This go around we got this as sashimi. Another fresh and clean fish. Mild flavor with slight sweetness. We ordered pretty much everything through the chefs behind the bar and the service was solid. Needless to say this is a place I would come back to.

I've had Karai bookmarked for a while and although I didn't dine in, I still had a really good…read moreexperience with their sushi takeout! I ordered the citrus salmon roll and sacto roll. I love a lemon salmon roll, so I was happy to see the citrus salmon roll on the menu. I appreciate that the salmon was on the thicker side. I do wish there was a more citrus added versus just having some lemon shavings. The sacto roll is more on the unique side since I never had a roll that had chili crunch on it. It was a nice contrast while complimenting the fish. I liked how this roll had shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, salmon, and hamachi. Two rolls was plenty for me to feel full! I definitely will be ordering from here again and hope I get to dine in soon.

This is a cute lithe restaurant. Simple. Upon arrival.... Pros 1) we got parking right away. 2) restaurant looked clean. Our table, chairs, plates, cups looked clean. We were the only one there at first. 3) waitress was very nice and smiling. I love warm welcomes. She seated us right away, gave us menus and brought water for us pretty quick. 4) water tasted good. No funky taste. 5) Mixed tempura, Miso soup, New York Steak teriyaki, Zig zag roll were all very good. 6) our waitress checked in on us and ensure we had water refill. I appreciate that. We all did. It was hot today. 7) bathroom was clean. 8) wall decors are cute. 9) there's music, but low enough that we could talk and hear each other, but loud enough that we can hear the music. Cons 1) none Conclusion We liked this little restaurant. We gotta try the soups next time we go there. We only encounter our waitress and she was very nice. Didn't get to talk to the sushi chef. Foods good, water good, restaurant clean, bathroom clean, plenty of parking. Menu have dessert, but we didn't get any. Was pretty full. Go try this place if you're in this area.
