Great food, great service and the restaurant is cute. Nice and clean. Went on 4th of July and had the whole place to ourselves. Our server was amazing and the sushi rolls were all amazing.

Came here for lunch to celebrate the MIL on Mother's Day. Grateful that it wasn't too busy with reasonable quick service for the busiest day in the year. The family wanted to share the dragon sushi platter and a few of us ordered the bento boxes. The dragon platter was soo cute with beautiful specialty rolls. The dragon platter came with a good mix of raw and cooked rolls to please a variety of taste buds. If you like most rolls on the saucy side, this one's for you. I personally ordered the teriyaki bento box and was very satisfied. Loved the sesame salad topped with a fried lotus root. The tempura was perfectly cooked and not greasy with a light yet crispy batter. The teriyaki chicken was tender. Everything on my bento was delicious and I can't wait to order it again. Paired all this with hot tea and it was another great lunch in the books.

Customer service: 4.2 attentive but not over the top Food: 3.8 A bit overdue on this review, but didn't want to overlook this establishment. After working needed to drop by the house and change so wife went ahead with her GF. A quiet Sunday night and the girls had drinks and appetizers on the table. Our waitress checked on me once I sat to see if I needed/wanted a drink, but I was hungry so I quickly looked at the menu and placed my order: Hinoka & Rainbow roll. After a few minutes all our food arrived at the table and we ate while reviewing our booth sales for the weekend. I guess I was really hungry since the food disappeared, so glad I snapped photos before I threw down! The rolls were good but the rice used that evening was mushy so there was a texture issue. Overall a good experience and hope on my next visit the rice used for their sushi is to my liking. As for service, our waitress kept checking on us and ensure we always had a full glass of water or tea.

Food: This has become one of my favorite sushi spot to get rolls. The rolls are super big, taste amazing, and is super affordable. Usually, I can eat two rolls at sushi restaurants, but here I can only eat one because it's so big. Typically, when rolls are big and cheap, they're not that good, but here it is! The fish tastes super fresh and didn't need sauces to mask it. My favorite ones were teddy because it's smoky and the triple trouble because it's fresh. I will be back to try their nigiri's and sashimis. Service: Service was quick. It wasn't that busy when we went on a Friday night which was surprising to me after eating the food. Our server was very nice. Attentive just enough that's she's not interrupting us eating. Ambience: It is a relatively smaller sushi restaurant with high ceilings and bright lights.

Closest sushi place to the hospital. After giving birth, this was such a treat! Hubby ordered from here and we got their sashimi plate, uni, and the hinoka roll. Sashimi was delicious and fresh. Their hinoka roll was a bit on the spicy side, but still good. We will definitely visit this place again.

We got four rolls to go while in town for a day. Lots of flavors at a decent price. Staff were super nice. Loved the pairings on the wall. Will be back to try more rolls.

Searched for sushi restaurants nearby and found this gem! Loved the decor and all the flowers on the ceilings. Presentation of the food was fantastic! High quality sushi and food for the price. They serve fresh wasabi with the sashimi and nigiri. Fish was fresh and the pieces they served were a decent thickness. We all loved our food! Service was great! Would definitely return!

I've been here three times and enjoyed each dine in experience. I've never left dissatisfied or hungry. First time, it was for the Nigiri Omakase experience with Chef Danny! It was awesome and really elevated what Hinoka has to offer. Second time, it was for my sister's college graduation dinner and Chef Danny catered to us again. We were able to sit at the bar and had him dish it out (literally) and my sister enjoyed everything. We were full and happy. Third time, we came back for a birthday gather, once again for the Nigiri Omakase experience with you guessed it, Chef Danny! He made the whole experience enjoyable with his friendly banter, providing the brief history of the dishes, and careful explanation of the ingredients with recommendations on how to consume and really enjoy each bite. Every time we've been seated at the bar and it's fun! Hinoka has great customer service and the ladies are on top of their job while showcasing kindness and effort. Chef Danny is no longer with Hinoka and we are very disappointed to know that. ='( Notes: Parking is really easy. Hinoka is in the same plaza as Tay Giang. Any nigiri omakase reservation requires a 50% deposit up front. You will be full after the nigiri omakase. Dessert is part of the course. Their bathroom is clean and they wash down the entire bar at night.

It's so cute and aesthetic, however, limited seating! So when they are busy it's very crowded, hard to move around. To ensure a spot, I recommend making a reservation. Servers are so kind and friendly, answered questions perfectly. And the sushi came out pretty quickly! For the quality of the fish and presentation, the price is reasonable. We ordered a lot of rolls, it came on a dragon! Which had small cups of dry ice, the server poured water into them. Creating a smoke show for our sushi! So fun and made the experience memorable! I enjoyed my time here and would definitely come back! Highly recommend for a fancy date or big family dinner to celebrate!

I've come here a few times already. The some of the decorations are cute. The sushi is pretty fresh. I've tried a few of their different rolls. They are pretty good. I like their Agadashi Tofu. It had good flavor, and the tofu was lightly fried. They do have a happy hour. Some of the apps are discounted. The service is good. The staff are friendly. I would come again. The fish is fresh.

Came here for dinner in a Friday night. No wait time to be seated. I got 2 rolls. One of them came out pretty quick but the other took a really long time to come out. Both were really good and had good quality fish and ingredients though. Would definitely return for sushi!

For Sac, it's not too bad. It does get busy! Staff are super welcoming, portions are okay, food is 4/5 in freshness. Overall good experience! *** We ordered: - Spam Musubi $6: no no no. Spam was overcooked, needs more sauce, rice was a little too squishy. 1/5 stars - rainbow roll: it's good. Comes with mango sauce. Portion are small 4/5 stars - salmon 2 ways: yum!! This is what I was looking for. Raw fish inside and outside of a roll. Some bites felt like chomping into a big slab of salmon. 5/5 stars - super lion king: wish it was more baked. Not as good as other locations 4/5 stars Overall good experience minus waiting for 25 minutes for our food..

Came here on a Saturday at around 11:30 and they weren't too busy. Clean and nice interior. Seated quickly. Ordered the lobster king roll and a dragon roll. Both were yummy! They checked on us to see if needed more water. Would definitely come again! Might be my new sushi spot.

My partner and I each got a lunch set. Salad was great and so were the croquette and corn chawanmushi. Galbi was a little fatty but still good. Soft shell crab was too much crunch. Miso soup was nice and had mini scallops except the first scallop was still cold inside (I guess it was freshly put in and not overcooked). Service was good and only two other tables present. I tried their sukiyaki set, both wagyu and seafood. I wish they had given some instructions on the approach or order I should eat the sets of food. It was a little chaotic trying to figure out how I could submerge all the ingredients in the broth so they would cook evenly. The tempura is perfectly crispy, but the rice was a little brittle and got dried really fast. The texture was more like Vietnamese broken rice, and it caught me off guard because when I tried their sushi a while ago, they used very high-quality rice. As is typical with sukiyaki, the broth becomes very flavorful at the end, absorbing all the flavors from high-quality ingredients, but my udon got a little dry while waiting. Since I tried both set, the wagyu sukiyaki broth became a little too sweet at the end. My favorite is definitely the seafood sukiyaki broth. Would I try these pricy sukiyaki again? Probably not. Would I go back to Azayaka again? 100%. This would not discourage me from going back there any amount.

It's the kind of place that quietly becomes your favorite before you've even finished your first dish. ‍ Service That Feels Like Home From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm, enthusiastic "Irrashaimase!" The hostess was exceptionally engaging--personable without being overbearing--and guided us through the sake menu like a seasoned sommelier of umami. Her thoughtful recommendations led us to a beautiful tasting journey featuring three types of sake: * A classic hot sake for comfort, * A crisp cold sake imported from Japan, and * A smooth and unexpected bottle from Vernon, CA (yes, Vernon--who knew?). Although the tall glasses were emblazoned with Orion Beer branding, we stuck to the sake. No regrets. What We Ate -- A Love Letter to Flavor Every dish was visually stunning and bursting with freshness. Here's what we devoured: * Truffle Hamachi Carpaccio: Thin slices of hamachi bathed in a rich truffle soy, topped with microgreens and salmon roe. Silky, aromatic, and sublime. * Shishito Peppers: Perfectly blistered and dusted with spice. A simple dish that delivered big on smoky flavor. * Sake Nigiri & Tobiko Gunkan: The sake (salmon) nigiri was melt-in-your-mouth fresh, and the tobiko gunkan had just the right briny pop. Clean, classic, perfect. * Negihama Roll: Yellowtail and scallion in delicate harmony--refreshing and elegant. * Spicy Tuna Roll: A fiery flavor bomb, dusted generously with shichimi. Spicy but well-balanced. * Jade Roll: Wrapped in seaweed salad and sesame, this one was fresh, crunchy, and full of herbaceous notes. A standout roll. * Cucumber Sunomono: A palate cleanser and a beautiful contrast to the richness of the fish. Light, crunchy, and seasoned just right with sesame. Ambiance Kumi Sushi's atmosphere is refined but intimate--dim lighting, soft jazz playing in the background, and warm wood tones throughout. It's got date-night vibes without trying too hard. Final Verdict Kumi Sushi is everything you want in a neighborhood sushi spot--just elevated. Thoughtful service, stunning presentation, fresh ingredients, and a sake list that deserves its own night. Whether you're a seasoned sushi snob or just looking for a delicious evening out, this place delivers. 11/10 would truffle hamachi myself into oblivion again. Highly recommended.
