This was my first omakase experience and I was not disappointed! First, the chef was so personable and we had great conversations. As for the food, there wasn't a single miss! I really liked the toro, ocean crab, and hamachi! And the crepe cake was so amazing as the last course :) Oh and the lychee heaven cocktail is very strong but my mom loved it! We came here to celebrate my med school acceptance and I'm so happy that I got this amazing experience! All the fish we ate were fresh and the quality was superb. I will definitely come back here to try their regular menu next time :) There wasn't a large crowd so the atmosphere was very relaxed. And the place is decorated with the chef's artwork (he's insanely talented)!

Absolutely great lunch deals. Set lunches come with miso soup, salad, corn chawanmushi, tempura and entree. Everything is delicious. Great value and high quality fish. The head chef/owner Jason is very talented and knowledgeable and is always happy to his knowledge with you about technique and any sushi/food questions. I literally go there every week

This spot has been a favorite of ours for a couple years now (we love to come for birthdays as they always make space to accommodate a bigger group of 12-14). The restaurant looks to be remodeled now with a modern style, so the ambiance has an upgraded feel. Happy to see them doing so well! Service is always great and food always fresh! I can never decide between a box and rolls...so why not both!

Wife and I decided to drive out to this location instead of Roseville even though we live in Rocklin because the service in Roseville is pretty hit or miss. Anyway, we showed up for lunch on a Saturday and the place was empty other than one other party. One server and one sushi chef so I assume thats the norm. Although pretty expensive, I would say it was worth it for the splurge. The lunch special is an awesome value. The Bara Chirashi Don is $40, but you get a significant amount of fish that is high quality....like a full sized poke bowl of sorts. Geso karaage was good, not over cooked and very tender. The only thing I wish was a little bit different was the rice to be seasoned just a touch more. A good sushi type of lunch when you don't want to go with individual nigiri. $100 after tip for 2 people but we left full and happy.

We used to come here at least twice a month. We came today for a small celebration. Food was good as always. But today while we are finishing our dinner something weird happened with the service. The staff was taking some dishes away and she spilled a sticky sauce all over my new phone, my favorite bag and over my hand. It left a sticky mess. It's sticky everywhere. I freak out and immediately tried to clean. The staff member who spill the sauce never acknowledged it nor apologized for it. She didn't bring napkins over so I can clean. My favorite bag is stained and has sauce in it and on it. Once we got out of the restaurant I had to throw it away cuz it's not salvageable anymore. I don't understand why she would treat me like this. We come here a lot and tip well. This was supposed to be a fun night out but I have a sticky phone and I don't have my favorite bag anymore. I'm truly devastated..

Delicious! Might be my new favorite Sacramento sushi spot. Lunch set with kaisendon was a bit redundant because I also got the chef selection 18 piece sashimi which was much better. My partner and I each got a lunch set. Salad was great and so were the croquette and corn chawanmushi. Galbi was a little fatty but still good. Soft shell crab was too much crunch. Miso soup was nice and had mini scallops except the first scallop was still cold inside (I guess it was freshly put in and not overcooked). Service was good and only two other tables present. Did not try bathroom Plenty of parking Will return for another lunch set

Don't remember the name. Salmon marinated in some kind of beats... It was so smooth and delicious.

Delicious! Thank you Jason. Great time at the sushi bar. Just ate what was recommended. Fresh. Flavorful. Perfect lunch.

The owner/master chef offered to pick a selection for me. It was 4 nigiri and 5 sashimi. Spectacular. Amber jack, salmon belly, ocean trout, red eye snapper (beautiful red color) and more. Definitely will return soon!

Recently renovated, Azayaka describes themselves as a Japanese fusion restaurant. Located in a strip mall, the interior belies the exterior with its subdued ambiance. Came here for dinner a couple of times, the first time I ordered the rainbow roll ($15) which is my barometer for sushi at restaurants. Decently sized, the fish was fresh and the roll was filling. Daughter ordered the ramen ($18) with the red option, which she enjoyed with the plethora of toppings. Dinner the second time, I got the teishoku set with salmon ($21). Two decently filets of salmon came with rice, miso soup, salad, deep fried egg roll and salad. You also get a choice of either croquette or chawanmushi. The chawanmushi was a highlight for me! I missed eating this savory custard when I used to live in Japan. Their version did not disappoint! This has spot has become a rotating staple for me and am looking forward to trying out more of their sushi rolls.

We went here as a pre holiday celebration. The food was really good. All four of us enjoyed everything we shared . The service was great I'd recommend going again!

    A5 wagyu sukiyaki
    Ann H.

Decided to dine in again as I was craving the wagyu sukiyaki. The service was very slow and our server did not check on our table as often as I needed. It was difficult to make eye contact to notify the servers that we needed assistance. For our appetizers, I loved the Geso and the Wagyu nigiri. The octopus was really tough and chewy. I will not order this in the future. Of course, I ordered the Wagyu sukiyaki with double the Wagyu. It tasted just as amazing as the other 2 prior visits. I also ordered the seafood sukiyaki and it was terrible. The broth needs a lot of improvement. It lacked flavor and had a really fishy taste to it. The shrimp did not taste fresh. I will omit this from my future visits. I still had a somewhat pleasant dinning experience as I enjoyed the majority of the food. I will surely dine in again for the wagyu sukiyaki.

My friend and I came here for lunch. I heard great things about their boxes. I ordered the Jubako box and my friend had the Wagyu Sukiyaki paper hot pot. Both items are pretty pricey, but I definitely feel like you get quality protein for the price. I don't typically order boxes so truthfully I don't have much experience to compare. The food was very good, and I'm glad I tried it.

How much is the omakase per person?

The omakase costs $123 per person before taxes and gratuity.

Is it wheelchair accessible and is service allows inside?

    Yes

I ordered the Chicken Katsu Set. It comes with chawanmushi, harumaki, miso soup, mixed greens, somen, and steamed rice. However I didn't get the chawanmushi, miso soup, or the somen. I did get edamame. Is the take out supposed to be different?

Is there still a tasting menu/omakase avail?

Last I went, 3 months ago, there was, but you have to call in advance to make a reservation. No walk-ins avail for omakase. Hope this helps.

Do they have any cooked rolls such as the Lion King?

I don't know what is in the lion king roll, but they have a roll with shrimp tempura, eel, avocado, green onion and sauce. It's all cooked. Most restaurant will make you something cooked upon request.

    Are you serving alcohol now?

I was there this week. They had sake and sparking plum wine.

    Do they serve alcohol?

We do! We are just waiting for the Alcohol License. The authority says we will be getting it in one week. Currently we have non-alcoholic beer.

The ambiance is clean, openm and intimate with dark wooden furniture and accents making you feel relaxed and able to focus on your meal. Just another sign of the great service. Finally, the meal. While in the past I've not fully enjoyed myself with this menu (the rolls are too complex for my liking), this time I was intentional to finds selections that were simpler and sounded more traditional. The Albacore Pepperfin was one of those finds that I'll be sure to return for. It featured an excellent citrus sauce with very nice and thin cuts of albacore. By far the best thing I've had from the menu. That said, the other roll and handroll were also prepared masterfully and with great cuts of fish. Lastly, I have to mention the kids menu. Absolutely excellent and with selections and presentation that show real knowledge of children. We will be returning customers here.

First, they might be understaffed (one server, one sushi chef, maybe one in back kitchen) making food service slow. The waitress tried her best, but she was clearly left on her own to wait on the sushi chef. However, the communication was lacking; when asked about a tiny portion size for the seaweed salad, she didn't really know how to respond and just gave a dismissive answer. I just wanted to know if it was meant for two or a single side. It looked smaller than normal. The food execution was also off--our salmon skin hand rolls were served sitting in a sticky sauce, making it awkward to pick up and leaving our hands a mess (I thought hand rolls were supposed to be dry on the outside wrapping) The biggest red flag was the bill. Every single a la carte item we ordered was priced 25+ cents higher on the receipt than what was printed on the menu. When questioned if the menu prices went up, the waitress seemed completely uninformed and claimed the owner includes tax in the item price--yet regular tax was still added to the final total anyway. They also charge extra for using a card. The math doesn't add up (or it's just plain confusing), the food service is slow, and management isn't giving their staff the information or support they need. I'd recommend double-checking your bill if you eat here.

Friends and I hadn't dined here in awhile, so my eyes widened with excitement when I saw signs by the entrance for all-you-can-eat on certain days and at certain times and I saw sushi tacos on their menu! Their service and music are excellent. The ambiance is spacious, so when the restaurant is busy with diners, the sound is not an issue at all. The TV screens show sushi making videos that get our attention hooked. The robot server has happy music playing and sweet messages on its screen, like KIT, as it rolls away. Their beautiful food display right by the entrance is the perfect way to entice customers to keep it moving to get a table, and not hesitate, if they are new customers. Their rolls are the biggest I have ever had so far from a sushi restaurant and all of their sushi sections we have enjoyed so far have seriously caused a flavor explosion right at first bite! They do not skimp on sushi roll and sushi taco filling, further adding to why I give Sushi Hook five big stars! I am very happy this restaurant has survived and been patronized all these years, considering the pandemic and economic factors that have impacted the restaurant industry. The good thing about this place is that the price is very cheap for sushi and the rolls are very big so you get a lot of food for the price. The food, on the other hand, was just "meh" for sushi. Perhaps my standard for sushi has changed throughout the years but this tasted like what you would get at a fast food type of sushi joint. First, there is way too much rice versus how much filling is inside the rolls. They seem to rely very heavily on sauces versus actually quality ingredients. Their soft shelled crab was just soft; no crispiness at all. If you are on a budget, this might satisfy a craving. However, if you want quality sushi, I would not recommend this place.

The rolls were flavorful and well-made, with a noticeable focus on sauces. They do tend to go heavier on the sauce, so if you like your sushi rich and packed with flavor, you'll probably enjoy it. On the positive side, the chicken teriyaki plate was amazing--great flavor, cooked perfectly, and easily the highlight of the meal. The quality of that dish really stood out. Overall, Arigato Sushi delivered some strong flavors, but the sushi roll could benefit from better structure and presentation to match the quality of the teriyaki.
