Probably one of my favorite sushi restaurants, ever. Friendly staff, incredibly delicious food with a selection of rolls that'll satisfy a budding or veteran palate. I've been coming here for over a year, and the sheer simplicity of having a pepper tuna roll on the menu was enough to draw me into the cozy bar, the friendly staff, and the respectable menu. I've tried quite a bit of the menu, and it's second to none on hibachi-styled cooking. There's a noticeably higher appreciation for high quality ingredients, so every roll tastes so fresh. The chicken fried rice is LEGENDARY. No kidding, be sure to ask for the ginger hibachi sauce to complete the experience. Serious bang for your buck. In fact, everything is reasonably priced and well portioned, which makes trying something new a worthwhile endeav It's family owned, and there's a good chance you'll be able to have a beer if the owner has some free time to sit and chat when he isn't making amazing food in the kitchen. While it's nice to dine in, delivery or carry-outs are a fantastic option, this food tastes amazing here and at home. The food is still good but waiting an almost additional hour for your pickup order is completely ridiculously. The lady handling the orders is not very honestly with the customers regarding their wait times. There were several folks waiting for over an hour and some that gave up just walked. read more

We just found our local sushi restaurant! We have wanted to give them a try and finally decided to stop by. It's a smaller, more intimate setting. Pro-family but also would be solid for a date night. My son and I sat at the sushi bar and had a great server who walked us through the menu. My son had the appetizer fried chicken which was perfect. He thought they were chicken nuggets! I also had the shaggy dog roll, sunrise roll, and shrimp fried rice. Shaggy dog ended up being my favorite roll but both were really strong. Shrimp fried rice has actual large shrimp as opposed to some places that have mini shrimp. VERY good portion size for the fried rice especially at the price point. I'm originally from Northern California and I've been in Texas for a little over three years. Ever since I've moved I've been searching for a sushi place in the Houston area that would be comparable if not better than the sushi from back home. We've found a few places that have been good and then Fuji Sushi opened. This restaurant has been on our radar and we finally were able to try it last night. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is small, but we went on a Thursday night so it wasn't busy and we were able to be seated and served right away. After scrolling through the menu we finally decided to try the Fuji and Yummy Yummy rolls. Both of these rolls are good (fully cooked rolls) and both were delicious. The only reason I am giving them 4 out of 5 instead of 5 stars is because of the following reasons. 1. Guests that arrived after us started receiving their food before us. 2. The Fuji roll was done and we could see it sitting on the counter to be served. It took them 5-10 minutes to serve us the Fuji roll and informing us that the Yummy Yummy was taking longer because it's baked. We have no problem waiting, the rolls can come at different times. 3. Upon requesting the check, it took a total of 10-15 minutes to get the check and pay for our meal. The main waitress/host appeared to be on the phone for a long period of time. She could have been taking To-Go orders but she still should have had someone else bring us the check as she did have other waiters there to help. Other than that, we recommend trying Fuji Sushi but keep in mind it's a small place and probably not the best for large groups. read more

Always good to be back at this sushi place. It's always greasy food and super friendly staff , we order take out for deliver sometimes it's always on time and fast service. You'll enjoy their California roll , it's our go to menu every time. I also like the hamachi Kama (fish ) grilled very good with some lemon juice with some hot sauce on the side. This place is super cute but very very small. I have lived here for 3.5 years and only been here twice but the food is good if you're craving sushi and live nearby. I came here yesterday wanting to have a glass of wine and have a few apps ( Happy Hour Style) and I sat down and took about 10 mins to get someone to greet me. Have been coming to Fuji Sushi since they opened, even supported them during CoVid. Generally the sushi is decent and the service is alright. Recently, their service has been trending downwards. We ordered a lunch special for delivery and we were short 75 cents. Rather than waive it (like they've done before) they were unable to process the order unless we paid a minimum of $25. Stopped by on the way for a late lunch today and was shocked by how amazing and delicious every thing was! To have a sushi restaurant in this area THIS GOOD is very RARE. My friends and I ordered the 5 Rolls Combo (the Miso soup & salad that came with this was also very good!), the Houston Roll, & Spicy Miso Tonkatsu and it was very fulfilling! For dessert we got all 4 flavors of the Mochi Icecream & both green tea and vanilla Tempura Icecream! They were so nice even though we came in an hour into closing. They are consistent and come to ask if everything's okay, if we need more water, and if we would like anything else. The sushis are REALLY filling! One roll is plentiful. The calamari comes out really crispy, which I like and it stays crispy even towards the end of the meal! We got 3 rolls and the kids teriakyi chicken with fried noodles for our girls. We just had the leftovers again for lunch and are shocked how good it is again! Based on the numerous delivery orders I have made with Fuji Sushi, I can attest that most of the food have been good. What Fuji Sushi did correctly each time I ordered was the sushi was always tasty and fresh. I have never gotten any food poisoning afterwards. Their other dinner entrees are pretty scrumptious as well. However, sometimes their meats are a little dry, such as the beef or salmon teriyaki. Additionally, the prices are reasonable since the portions are appropriate. Overall, I would recommend Fuji Sushi if in the Katy area. The people on the phone are always pleasant, and most of the food I have had there have been good. read more

Somehow even more basic than normal. Very little flavor. Chicken cooked but not really grilled or seared at all. Vegetables were nice though. Real fresh taste to the whole plate, but still just ok. Ordered Spider Roll. Meh as well. Kinda weird taste. Sooooaaaaked In teriyaki sauce I think. Ingredients not awesome. Avocado was good. Decent structure. Salad was less than meh. Just nothing. The food really deserved 4 stars but I really could not get over the sour smell in the place. We had to ask for the little dishes to mix our wassabe and the server just kept forgetting things. They have a 2 roll or 3 roll special on their lunch menu lunch. Seriously the Shaggy dog was so good I will be giving them another chance. I've been a customer for YEARS ( I don't even think they realized) and unfortunately I won't be anymore. Whether it was a mistake on us or them, even though we are regulars, the way they handled it was absolutely unacceptable. My maki rolls were made into hand rolls. I called to report this and repeatedly was told I misspoke. Then when I asked what could be done, I had to pay for new rolls and they charged for delivery... ok. Even though I just spent over $100, I did that without complaint. My new order was $16 and when I asked for change, the guy looked at me as if I was stupid and said "it's only $16". When did it become acceptable to EXPECT a tip, especially when I JUST had a bad experience? I'm not sure what customer service standards are taught here, but in my experience of working in the food industry of over a decade, I would have been fired immediately for speaking to a customer in the multiple manners I was spoken to. She was a little slower than we like as we ran out of drinks while eating, some of us was drinking tea and some was drinking beer and we ended up dry while eating, that is a no no at a restaurant in my thoughts. We started off with a sashimi dinner for the table and cruncy calamari. The sashimi was all fresh cut fish:salmon, tuna, albacore tuna, escolar (small for if chili sauce aghhh so spicy) and red snapper. They brought out the wrong kids meal but she loved it any way so it wasn't a big deal. (tempura vs katsu chicken). Each meal (not ramen) come with soup and salad. The salad has a ginger based dressing which was tasty and not over powering. I ordered the ramen. My tamago over cooked but the ramen itself was good quality with a good broth. The tonkatsu was cooked well and tender. This place is good for families. The staff handles the kids very well! My neice was being a terrible two of a girl and they gave her some "fun chopsticks" and brought her food out right away. There were 3 families in the restaurant while we were there and they all understand the struggle! Overall a great place! Now I have a place to have some ramen or a quick sushi roll. read more
