The sushi is 9/10 chefs kiss !! We did the family platter and it was worth every bit of money. It was actually cheap . Service was great, couldn't be more happy with the waiters . Very nice and we stayed until everybody was gone . Ambiance is super cozy . We came here after leaving Taroko sports !! Go try both !!

Total gem in Katy. We ordered the sushi deluxe platter which came with miso soup. The platter is massive and has pretty good quality sushi for the most part. Presentation was nice and the service was friendly. Three stars for being out of a few things that I really wanted to try but the service made up for it. It's probably the best in the area.

Sushi was amazing, I love they have so many options. The service was very friendly. We also received a complimentary banana tempura dessert

Food was good, but felt the service was lacking a bit. Didn't seem to friendly at time. Didn't honor Yelp check in code. We liked the Chicken Katsu and crab rangoons.

I have been to this restaurant twice in the past week, no, I am not ashamed lol the first time I went with a friend and we just happened to stop by during a happy hour. Their happy hour is excellent. There are a large variety of rolls, appetizers, and other small plates to choose from, and it lasts from 3 to 6:30 PM (dine in only)! I enjoyed my experience both times. On both occasions it seem that they were a little short staffed. The first time I went there was only one server on the floor. No worries though, because she was working hard! She was very efficient bouncing from table to table, taking orders, and ensuring that customers had a good time. The second time I went, it took a minute for them to seat me (they were busy) but I was able to get a seat at the bar. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be back! Now what you're really here for, the food! BFF roll - 4/5 Knight - 4/5 Mermaid - 4/5 Pikachu - 3/5 Fahrenheit - 3/5 Pixie - 4/5 Luxury - 4/5 Shaggy - 5/5 Edamame - 3/5 Gyoza - 3/5 Tamago soup 4/5 - first time trying this as I usually get miso. It was so good! Wasabi and ginger was great! The honey wasabi was so good.

Heavenly Roll ( I will never get this again.) people please wash your hands.

Not to be confused with Tsunami Confusion, which is when climate change deniers can't understand why disasters are becoming 1,000 times more common these days. This is a good sushi place, it's not amazing. It's not my fave in Katy, but it's not bad at all, and not too overpriced either. The main 5 star element is the lovely service, as well as an innovative, if westernized, menu. We love checking out new places and are glad we came here, even though it was someone else's idea, and our idea for sushi is actually a little better and more filling, for the same price! Still a very good place for Japanese food lovers to try in Katy, I know at least 2 friends that think it's the best one in HTX area!

I ordered the Texas #1 roll and it was really good, it had yellowtail inside with tempura flakes and topped with fresh salmon. I also ordered the edamame and the fried tofu which was good. I thought that the service was really good and quick. I think it is a bit expensive but they have a lot of options. They also do half rolls during happy hour which is really nice!

400 Roll, Shaggy Dog Roll and the Pokémon Roll
    Meris R.

We came in about an hour before closing on a Friday night. It wasn't super packed, just the right amount of people inside already. It was pretty dimly lit. The music was good and the anime drawings around the walls were a cool touch. We got the Shaggy Dog roll, the Pokémon roll and the 400 roll. We were surprised by the amount of pieces. 10 pieces each, which is usually 6-8 pieces. Everything was amazing. The shaggy dog was great, the 400 roll was fried and really good and the Pokémon roll had a nice sweet sauce that cut the taste of the crab in half. All the flavors just mixed really well together. There were a lot of bread crumbs on the Pokémon roll, which seemed excessive, but besides that it was all still really tasty. 10/10 would come back.

The rice smells really bad like a cockroach walked through it. The rolls dont have avocado . The chicken cost 7 usd and it taste bad! Expensive but taste really bad. I tried it once and will never go back . The tempura is so dry that looks like a frozen tempura bought in grocery store. Btw, the manager went to our table and asked me. She said there is no problem with there rice. I 've been to different restaurants already and they are far one of the worse food I ever had. The manager did not do anything. Just don't try to eat here especially there bento lunch box! Don't try it! I regret coming here because of there 4.5 review. Waste of money

I've been eating Tsukiji's food for 10 years though I still can't say its name. I visit maybe once or twice a year and each time it's the same quality. Same simple traditional goodness. Service is always friendly. Ambiance is always busy but chill. They are consistent and that's hard to come by nowadays.

It doesn't bother me that it's semi-dimmed and small. The food made up for it even though my back was to the main entrance door. Good parking spaces. There was a waitlist but we didn't wait for over 30 minutes. Best bang for your buck AYCE sushi at $29.99/person and their menu is THICK. Even for someone who is used to sushi, it was overwhelming at first. The tablet made it easier to order without feeling so needy to the already-so-busy servers. Cheaper at lunch time but menu has less options, mainly no sashimi and only ice-cream as desserts. My favorites are chicken karaage, kanpachi sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, salmon sashimi, Cajun albacore sashimi, spider roll, Starbucks roll, baked green mussels, and their mochi (I got strawberry and mango). I got a lot more but those are my favorite and highly recommend for you to try. Final destination sushi rolls are majority of the people's favorite, including my server's. Eel sashimi is on a grill, which was surprising and good. Wasabi was lacking the spice and I'm not a fan of pink ginger but it's an AYCE so not complaining. What I do suggest you to do is to stay away from hot cheesecake and ice cream tempura. Unfortunately, they most likely use the same batter batch with their meats/seafood and they fry it with their seafood/meat oil so all you taste is mainly seafood, which is quite disgusting when you want your desserts to be desserts. I love seafood but that was gross. I still ate the insides. Overall, a solid restaurant for AYCE sushi. I like that the majority of their sushi rolls are half and they don't kill you with so much rice. Plus, you have an option to not get AYCE if you're not too hungry.

The restaurant somewhat is small from inside, yet it seems that the servers are just going back n forth between tables and kitchen. The kiosk ordering systems helps take the burden off of the servers quite a bit, and it's easier to order at your own pace, when you're ready to. Their sashimi was very good. Thick slices of fish. Seaweed salad was good also. Vast selection of rolls. I do like their Starbuck and shaggy rolls a lot. They serve 4 pieces to a roll where as other competitors do 6-8. Also, both times I noticed that their rolls were coming apart, which is not too appealing. Nonetheless, the food is still pretty good and I do plan on visiting them again.

Eggplant Miso cheese: 5/5 would get this again. Same, pair this up with the mushroom miso cheese. 1 Spider roll/ 2 tempura roll hand rolls: as expected. Special house roll: I would pass. The others were much more memorable. Tai sushi: It was amazing, it was light, refreshing, and citrus all at the same time. I wish I ordered this first but I was soooo full, I was struggling at this point. Not pictured, Kisu sushi: It had a strong taste and a slight rubber skin texture. It was nice to try it but I don't need to again. Not pictured, ray fin jerky: Someone ordered this and was meh bout it. it was sweet. I think I was the only one who liked it. I would highly recommend the following; mushroom miso rice, eggplant miso cheese, salmon belly, tai sushi. These are must haves. Ray fin jerky is a maybe if you like sweet jerky or not, this dish was a hit or miss at the table. Our waitresses were amazing and very sweet. One seems to be fairly new but I think she will do well with more experiences as she gets the hang of handling large parties. Our table was stable, but because of the angle from the windows, the light kind of blinded one of our friends in the face. I would recommend stronger blinds for the front. I really liked the decorations. They were all sea shaped based, like a few of the lights were "waves". I thought they were cute. Amazing place, I'm excited to come back again to try their other dishes like barracuda and aji fry! Also, free parking out front!

The selection is a bit more limited for lunch, but the price is lower than dinner as well. Being AYCE, I wouldn't expect the highest quality, type, and cut of fish, but what they had was pretty solid, tasted fresh, and was delicious. A minor complaint would be they had no sashimi option, even for the tamago which I personally believe is eaten best without rice, but that's just minor stuff considering the good value here. As much as I try to find a reason not to give this place an outstanding rating, if I compare it to the AYCE category of restaurants, it did everything right. They do have a regular a la carte menu, with a selection that looks like a treat in itself. As for me, I highly enjoyed their jalapeno bomb to start. I highly doubt they used snow crab, tasted like imitation crab, but I enjoyed it nevertheless and got another order at the end. I tried a few nigiri while I was here, with eel being my favorite (and thank goodness for no bones, which was lucky because it's eel). Their tacos were an unexpected standout and is worth a bite or two. Using sheets of nori and frying it to it holds up like a shell is pretty genius and more places need to do this. I had a good time with their Burning Alaska signature maki, which has salmon as the main star. The smokiness from torching was a killer! Their curry reminded me of S&B, which might very well be the mix they used. I was a bit disappointed to not see fish katsu as an option considered it's a sushi place, but I can see the katsu curry selection being a good option as a comfort dish. I wish I had the stomach space to try out new stuff, but maybe next time. Wish someone would post a photo of the salmon skin salad, because I'm a bit curious about that!
