Service: 6/10 - 6 was for the friendliness. When we arrived we were off to a good start drink orders and initial food orders taken after that things started to go downhill. Food came out to the table and people could not remember what they ordered and the servers could not remember who ordered what. Some orders were combined which also confused things. There was a group that never got their sashimi.. for the most part I got everything I ordered except the masago, some people at the table did not receive all their items and had to repeatedly ask for their items. Then when it came time to pay the bill things got extra confusing. I feel like we had to repeat the process a couple of times before we were able to start paying. I just think they need to refine how they handle big groups. Regarding the food: spider roll: 10/10 - crab was nice and crispy Oyster roll: 7/10 - tasty but barely tasted any oyster sashimi: 10/10 - scallop, eel, ebi, salmon, Escolar, and pepper tuna, for some reason, I never got my masago. (I really enjoyed all the sashimi especially the scallops and salmon.) tuna takaki: 10/10 - light and delicious vegetable tempura: 10/10 - crispy and tender fried shrimp: 9/10 - cooked just right tempura shrimp: 5/10 - lack luster Short ribs: 6/10 - good flavor but extra chewy. Came here with a large group and overall had a mixed experience. The staff/service side was actually really good -- our waiter was attentive, polite, and genuinely apologetic throughout the night, so I do want to give credit where it's due because he handled everything professionally. That said, there were a few frustrating things. First, they advertise themselves as a hibachi place, but they really don't have the sauces or flavor options you'd normally expect from a true hibachi restaurant for the rice, noodles, or chicken. It felt more limited than expected. Another issue was the bar selection. I tried ordering a Belvedere martini, and they didn't have Belvedere or really any top-shelf vodka/liquor options available. The highest-end vodka they had was Absolut. Normally that might not matter to some people, but I personally get really bad hangovers from lower-quality liquor, so I specifically try to order cleaner/top-shelf brands when I go out. Lastly, if you're coming with a large party (we had over 10 people), be prepared for delays with payment. They weren't able to split checks quickly, and it ended up taking around 30 minutes to sort everything out while we were already in a time crunch. I was not overly impressed by their menu however, if you read my reviews, you will know that when it comes to sushi, I'm a bit of a critic. I will tell you, however, that by the end of the meal, I was not just surprised by how absolutely wonderful this restaurant was, but I was highly impressed by how wonderful the sushi was how absolutely on point the service was and frankly as you walk in, you will be impressed by the ambience. Let's just talk about the sushi for a minute. The portions are extremely generous and all of it is wonderfully fresh and a great pleasure. I believe I had more than half of the sushi menu on an " all you can eat" Offer, which is, given the quality of sushi, the best deal that I have had in the city of Houston. The waitress was absolutely wonderful, extremely service oriented, and just a pleasure to deal with making recommendations and giving insights since she is a sushi eater herself. I would not recommend the old-fashion bourbon as I suspect everything is done by specific formula and I varied their formula. Next time I go, I will follow their formula and see whether it's a different result. But what a pleasant service experience. The ambience is lovely. it's very large and because I suspect it is relatively knew it was by no means fall although frankly, we went at an odd hour about 4 PM on a Sunday afternoon and so that might explain the lack of patrons. I will say, however, it is so large that there may have been as many as 50 people there but because it is so large, it is difficult to gauge based on much more restricted spaces that I have been in while eating sushi. This is truly not a place to be missed. There is not any exotic sushi, but anything that is on the menu is really quite good, the service is absolutely wonderful and the cost is incredibly good. Jordan Ranchers are blessed with this fusion nippon style restaurant - that's upbeat Japanese food to most of us. With a colorful Sakura ceiling lacing the booths, you get the impression of being in a not so private garden. They have gluten free but not a lot and not called out on the menu. First time here and what a nice experience. It's hard to find all you can eat anywhere. It seems like a great deal if you are super hungry. We decided just to order from the regular menu. Everything is priced very well. The fried rolls were pretty good. I really enjoyed the age tofu. Nothing was spectacular but it was worth the cost. We enjoyed it. The waitress was efficient. Food came fast. The decor is just too much for me with the ceiling hanging LED. I was not a fan. It was overstimulating. The waiter barely spoke English and had NO idea what more than 1/2 of the items on the menu were or consisted of. I ordered a bottled water and I got my food prior to the water. We absolutely loved our first experience eating Yaki Sushi, and it did not disappoint. I will mention, we did take out only. The glows--all the fish was really fresh and the sushi was prepared impeccably. We loved the chef's specialties. Seaweed salad was very flavorful, and the yellowtail on fire was SO good. It's one of my favorite dishes. The containers for takeout do need to be a little sturdier as something had leaked in the bags pretty badly. We get seated and the server tells us all you can eat lunch ends at 2:30 so we only have 19 minutes to order food and then we can't order any food after 2:30 because the computer system shuts down. But we specifically checked all their social media and google maps/yelp beforehand to see exactly when AYCE lunch ended and the pictures attached shows on their menu (that the owner themselves uploaded 2 weeks ago) that lunch ends at 3:00PM so we left and didn't get to try the food. Our orders always came out quickly. The quality of the food is great. You can taste the difference in the quality and freshness of the sushi. The AYCE menu has a wide variety of options. Prices are very reasonable especially for the quality of the food. It's within the same range as other AYCE sushi places but quality is better than some others. Kids under 5 are free which is another plus. The presentation is really pretty with the little decor on the plates and sushi boats. The decor of the whole place is super pretty too.
