I have been to Fuji Sushi 3 times now in the past week. I just cannot get enough. From the ambiance, to the service, to the outstanding food... all sushi lovers need to try Fuji Sushi. I used to go to Genjis to get my sushi fix, but Fuji just blows them out of the water. Sushi is my absolute favorite food, and I consider myself to be as much of an expert on sushi as a 20 year old blonde white girl can be. I have eaten at many sushi restaurants from Michigan, to L.A., to Chicago and in between. I have even been to the Salt Lake City sushi place featured on Food Networks Man vs. Food and with all of the wonderful sushi I have eaten, Fuji is definitely my favorite. The first day my boyfriend and I went, we got the Tiger Roll, the Mexican Roll, and some tuna/white tuna nigiri. We also had Vegetable Udon noodles. I was literally melting with every bite. Such amazing flavor and quality. The Mexican Roll is my absolute favorite roll and Fuji gives serves it so much justice. The chef even unexpectedly whipped us up a sample of a new appetizer he was trying out and asked us for opinions! It was such a great experience we literally went back the next day and then again 3 days after that. On our other trips we tried the spicy orange roll, the broadway roll, and a couple of the hibachi entrees. I cannot stress enough how amazing this food is and how kind the waitstaff is. Absolutely the best available road food from Detroit to your Up North destination! The kani (crab) salad is off the hook.. Fresh shredded crab (imitation? IDGAF it's awesome) and this tangy ponzu mayo dressing! Love their lunch specials to share.. 3 rolls with salad was a perfect lunch for 2! The Philadelphia Roll, Spicy Tuna & Spicy Salmon all pretty solid. We call ahead and grab Fuji fast.. There's a Starbucks across the street, making this a great pit stop on a long drive. Arriving at our destination in the Cherry Capital was much nicer without a belly full of crappy fast food.. Ready to enjoy real farm to table delights & local artisanal beers! read more

I had the Ton katsu and it was a 4, however my wife had the Hibachi shrimp and it was a 0. Everything tasted the same, fishy. The vegetables, shrimp all had the same weird taste. Had to dump it. We spent three years in Japan and never had anything that tasted like that. Won't be going back. read more

Delicious! Prompt! Reasonably priced! I stopped here for a quick lunch while working in Midland. It was $9.25 for two rolls, miso soup (or salad), and hot tea. I was very impressed with the quality and taste of the rolls. I don't like rolls with a lot of rice. These rolls were made to perfection. A nice thin layer of rice and large portion of salmon/eel. The miso soup was fantastic and I she was always ready to refill my tea mug. The atmosphere was dim, warm and comfortable. My total was $10.00 + tip, and I took a few leftover pieces home w me. Since moving from California, I had searched quite a bit for good sushi in this area. I had tried a poke place in Bay City, which I enjoyed, but definitely didn't enjoy driving 20+ minutes for it. When I tried Fuji, I was impressed. I have picked up food to go before and always have great service here. Their fish is fresh and tasty. My kids really love the chicken teriyaki and my fiancé enjoys the hibachi! Definitely recommend (especially the tiger roll)! read more

I LOVE FUJI SUSHI! We have been going here since it opened and it has never once disappointed me. The service is excellent. Water glass is always filled, food is pretty quick and they are always friendly. The fried rice is some of the best I have ever had. I get that every time. I've never once been disappointed with a meal at Fuji Sushi. The staff are very friendly and willing to serve any request. The food is delicious and the drink selection is amazing. If I had to choose one restaurant to go to the rest of my life, this is it. The decor style is a traditional/contemporary Japanese style and gives a warm and cozy vibe. The sushi chefs prepare the sushi or sashimi right in front of you if you sit at the sushi bar. What an amazing place not only is the sushi fresh and delicious, the food is also very flavorful! I got the beef udon noodle soup and it was so good they give you a really good amount of everything so there is def going to be leftovers. Chicken friend rice was also very tasty I'm usually skeptical on ordering his dish because most places lack garlic and overall flavor in general but this place does just that and beyond with lots of flavors your taste buds will love! This place...this place is incredible. My best friend and I have been here twice now and we are always greeted with a smile. I've had the Sweet Potato roll, Cream Cheese roll and the Avocado roll and loved every single one of them. I've grown quite the fondness for the Sweet Potato roll! And then the plating! The plating is beautiful! They get so creative! Kait and I are willing to drive from Bay City (not too far, but still) just to have their sushi even when we feel lazy! It's worth the drive. We were staying at a hotel less than a half mile away and pleasantly surprised. We ordered the sushi boat and some extra rolls. The fish was fresh and the rice was cooked perfectly, not soggy or too dry. The portions were generous on the sashimi, sushi was perfect rice to fish ratio. Salad was crisp and fresh with tasty ginger dressing on the side. The service was super quick and we were impressed with their Covid -19 socially distanced take out window that had been created at the front door. It's innovative and keeps things as safe as possible. There is a window where they slide the food out to you within the inner vestibule/door way. There are paper take out menus, as well as one that is taped and open on a table. Also the credit card machine is placed on the table with a pump hand sanitizer. It was clean. They were technically closed but were kind enough to take our order even though we called 10 min. after closing. Being the sushi lushes that we are, we gave in to the cravings and decided to try it out instead of driving to East Lansing or metro Detroit. Amazing. The service was excellent.
