Lunch special menu
Mia R.

This sushi spot in Kendall will transport you to Japan once you walk in. Small and quaint, we came here to grub after pickleball at a nearby park on the fourth of July. We were searching for spot open during the holiday and after a quick Yelp search and call, we got confirmation they were open. Their menu is pretty extensive and we came during lunch, which they have great lunch deals and specials. I ended up getting the Sashimi Combo and it was pretty good. Of course with any sashimi combo, it always feels small in comparison to other deals so I would recommend opting for the other options for lunch over this one. I just wanted to get an option with less carbs but ended up eating the same about of carbs as the other combos since this came with a side of rice that I couldn't let go to waste (okay, it was also my lack of willpower.) If you know me, you know I am on an endless quest for Dynamite Appetizer as good as my long gone favorite spot in Pines. Well, this place comes pretty damn close. Their dynamite appetizer is a good size with baked seafood and dynamite mix on top of a bed of rice. The taste isn't exactly what I was looking for but still very good! This is heavy on the spicy mayo, so if you have an intolerance for that, I'd skip this. But if not, then I recommend! Next visit, I have to try their specialty rolls. My friend got one and it looked so goooood. The service was great with our server coming to check on us every so often and refilling our waters as they emptied.

I absolutely love their rolls! They have such a large menu with food and sushi, that everyone can find something! The service is quick and the servers are helpful. The place is very small so it's good for takeout or a small intimate dinner date. I have gone back multiple times since I discovered the place!

First time ordering sushi from here. Very easy to order online and the menu was very descriptive. The text messaging notifications were kinda slow. The food was to be ready for pick up in 15-30 mins but we were still expecting a text when the food was ready, having waited 30 mins we picked up our food and it was waiting for us, we got the text message that our food was ready when we were already on our way back home. The overall presentation was typical of sushi. The menu was vast and lots to choose from. I honestly didn't find anything that stood out. The sushi rolls were good overall but not something to run back to. Maybe trying different rolls we will feel differently, it is hard to find local restaurants that are worth returning to without driving towards Miami Beach.

Beautiful servers!!! This place has awesome sake, if you're going with a group I highly recommend the boat for 3, they have Sapporo which automatically earns them 5 their fried bagel roll is also delicious. 1000/10

Love coming here!!! It is a definite essential if you grew up in Kendall. The ever so popular sushi restaurant has the famous entrance greeting of '"hello's" coming from staff as you walk in. It's truly a welcoming experience. The restaurant itself is not to big but perfectly accustomed with comfortable and spacious seating. There's a cool table that you can reserve for a bit more privacy and with seating on a pillow on the floor. We started with a refreshing ginger salad, tasty shumai, delicious tuna tartare and 2 orders of the zoni roll. This roll is my favorite as it comes with shrimp tempura, crab, avocado, tempura flakes, spicy mayo, and both kimchee and eel sauce. It is absolutely fabulous! The pickled ginger and wasabi paste give it that extra lilt kick too. There are so many options to choose from here starting from the drinks down to the dessert. I suggest keeping a menu after ordering cause something else might catch your eye that you have to try!

Miso Soup (regular size)

Food was good, expensive but what isn't these days, what shocked me was the miso soup size. Miso soup is the easiest soup with little ingredients, they charged me $4 for little less than 8 oz. That's why I knocked a star down as far as value.

Came for lunch on a Sunday and it was not very busy. The service was great from the moment we walked in until we left. Our server was very attentive the entire time. We ordered a tonkatsu ramen and a American dream roll of sushi. The sushi must be their specialty , it was absolutely delicious. It was freshly made and you can see your sushi being made. I would definitely love to come back and try other rolls. Now unfortunately the ramen was not good. It had big pieces of pork but they were dry, The egg was fridge cold and the broth was flavorless. Definitely would not recommend.

I've been here a few times while visiting my family in Miami and I think this place is great! Food is always fresh and the spot is cozy. This is definitely a hidden gem in West Kendall! We always start with the seaweed salad and the shrimp and vegetables tempura, so yummy and crispy! And all the rolls that I've tried so far have been really good. My favorites are the shrimp tempura roll, Tuna Lovers and Fuji rolls! I've heard good stuff about their ramen. I will for sure give it a try next time I'm in town!

Don pork bowl. Not close to the nicest presentation I've seen. Definitely not what the previous owners would present.

Are there any lunch or dinner specials?

Not that I know of, sorry! Unless there's been a change recently.

Its been two weeks but still closed? Can you update us on opening? Maybe leave a voice message when we call your business to update us.

We are OPEN! Hurray!! Regular hours. We are also starting limited DELIVERY :) . And soon , ONLINE ordering too. Come on in. We'd love to see everyone again!

Are you guys closed permanently?

We hope to be open in about 2 weeks. We have been working on the new online ordering system (FUJIYATOGO.COM) with in house delivery service. It should go live in 2 weeks. It's the best way to ensure your orders are well taken care of by our own…

Also, I have to mention how helpful it is that the menu includes pictures. It made choosing so much easier and honestly enhanced the whole experience! I wish more places did that. Overall, a great spot if you're looking for quality sushi with a creative twist and a really nice vibe.

It was early in the day so we had lunch. Both of us had the lunch special with us two meats and an assortment of veggies, rice is extra. The portions were good for the price. We shared a lychee drink and it was very refreshing and not too sweet. We loved it to change the taste of our meal after so much meat. I was a bit shy and didn't ask for extra veggies just because I didn't know if it was gonna be a charge or not, but I'd have liked a bit more kimchi with the lunch specials. The vibes are fun. They have televisions playing music shows so if you're into the kpop scene, you have entertainment ready for you. It was cutely decorated so there are plenty spots for cute photo ops if you're into that. I would definitely return here.

The biggest difference is the ambiance is quite different. The Falls location is so gorgeous and elegant in its decor as well as bigger. This location is much smaller and older. It has a little more of an "authentic" feel you could say. The bathroom situation was not as good. There is only one bathroom. When I went at the end of the meal, I had to remove the toilet tank and fix it because it wouldn't flush. I was able to do so, but it is just an older place and to be expected I guess. You also have to walk through where the servers grab the food from the sushi chefs, and it gets crowded and I felt a bit in the way. You just have to pretend you're in some authentic little NYC -esque restaurant and it's fine LOL. The food, however, was incredible. That's what made us want to go back here for dinner. We each had a Sapporo beer and then a pork gyoza appetizer. It was good.. not the best we've had but that might be unfair since we lived in Japan. But still good. Then for our meals I had the Sokai roll which had crispy shrimp, fresh salmon, and tuna tartare, and my husband had the Acevichado roll. I can't decide which one was better, but I will dream about those rolls. They also are hearty helpings at 10 pieces per roll. For dessert we had the Marquesa Roll which had chocolate, Nutella, cookie, among other things. That was also sooo good but a little rich. Our server was very friendly attentive too!

Kailyn was grateful and from that interaction, I can only imagine how great the service is in the restaurant. This was our first time eating here and we will go back. As for what we ordered, it was as follows: CRISPY SALMON TRUFFLE GUACAMOLE, ROCKSTAR ROLL, COPPERFIELD ROLL & THE SOKAI POKE BOUL TUNA. Be sure to ask for kimchi sauce on the side to amp the experience. The roll with the almonds was better than the one without so added the kimchi one amps it up. The CRISPY SALMON TRUFFLE GUACAMOLE was also good but I would ask for extra truffle. Even without these suggestions, they're all good. Great spot! We will be back. Be sure to check them out and enjoy!

It's a nice restaurant and very welcoming. They have a very nice menu with a lot of choices. But here is where it fell down for me. I ordered chirashi. This is one of my favorite comfort meals. The word chirash means scatter and as such, it is typically a scattering of foods on top of a bowl of sushi rice. The ingredients may vary from chef to chef, but the idea behind it is artistry, where the chef scatters colorful fish, egg, vegetables usually garnished with seaweed. There is the Kanto style which is the simpler of the two and the Kansai style which is more elaborate because it adds carrots, burdock root, lotus root, and dried shiitake mushrooms to the mix. But what is common to all chrashi is the scattering of different types of topping. This mess was neither. It is simply a bed of rice topped with masago on a plate surrounded with some sashimi. Not a lot of variety. To their credit, the sashimi was excellent. It was tasty. It was neither aesthetically pleasing or with enough variety to be even close to what other restaurants would call chirashi. As I stated, the quality was great and it was tasty, but it was not what I ordered or expected and was agreed just enough that I don't believe I will go back. Too many other better local choices.
